Installing Hyperion Essbase on linux 64 bit

I'm new to Hyperion Technology. What are the zip files I have to download for installing Hyperion Essbase on linux 64 bit.

Totally I'm having four machines (Machine A,Machine B,Machine C,Machine D). With the help of these four machines I'm going to install Hyperion Essbase and Planning 11.1.2.1.0.
Machine A (Linux-64 bit) ----> I have planned to install and configure the Hyperion Essbase Server,EAS Console.
Machine B (Linux-64 bit) ----> I have planned to install and configure the Oracle Database.
Machine C (Windows-64 bit) ----> I have planned to install and configure Hyperion Planning.
Machine D (Windows-32 bit) ----> I have planned to install and configure Hyperion Essbase Client.
In my 3 machines i have 64-bit, and 1 has 32 bit, I do not know this would be working, if this is correct kindly tell me how to do.

I did the same with OBIEE 11.1.13 and 11.1.1.5 with Hyperion essbase 11.1.2 and easily made its access. but with these new realease everything is got changed.

I am trying to install OBISE1 on Oracle Linux 5 - 64 bits.
I've followed these steps:
1) Install Oracle DB
2) Install jdk Linux 64 bits (jdk1.7.0)
3) Install WebLogic
4) Install RCU
5) Install OBI 11g (Software only installation)
Until here, all is correct.

I have modified /etc/profile, including JAVA_HOME and PATH with the java PATH. And it is ok, because if I executed java -version I can see the new jdk:

What are the things we need to install in Client machine???
For Administration services i am using web client, for remaining products(AIS, Studio) i need to install clients.
Can you please advice what are the files that i have to download and install???

Hi,
what do you call client machine ? Users' machines ? If it's users machine you just need to install the Essbase client (aka excel add-in or smartview).
For other components (for an admin), as you said, there are web versions (EAS, Workspace, Web Analysis). Version 9 didn't have a web version for EIS as far as I know, I don't know about EPM11.

Installing flashplayer 11 on Linux 64 bit - error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6

I've downloaded the flashplayer_11_sa_debug.i386.tar.gz file and extracted it on my RHEL box. When I run ./flashplayerdebugger I get the following error:
./flashplayerdebugger: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
This lib is found in /usr/lib64/libX11.so.6 on this machine.
It is my understanding that flashplayer has native 64 bit support on Linux and therefore should be compatible with lib64 libaries, so why I am I seeing this error? I've been told it's because it's a 32 bit version of the player....
I also see this error if I install the flashplayer_11_sa.i386.tar.gz projector instead of the debugger version.
There don't seem to be any specific 64bit versions of the flashplayer from the download page: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html, yet there seem to be beta releases of a 64 bit Linux player which are no longer available.
Can anyone help me with this? Where can I get a 64bit v11 flashplayer for Linux?

The builds you are attempting to download from that page are the 32-bit content debuggers and standalone players. To download the 64-bit players go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer (or get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions).
Since you didn't specify which version of RHEL you have, FP 11 is supported on RHEL 5.6 or later (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html).

I'm having problems installing Oracle 11i on Red Hat Linux 64. I understand that it is not supported, however I need to go through the exercise of implementing OATM and then upgrade to 12. You mean oracle database 11g or you mean oracle e-business suite 11i? I am little confused

I've started the install and I continue to hit this problem.
Any advise on how to get around this issue. Oracle Support insist on using 32bit. I do have a co-worker that has been able to install it on Red Hat 64bit.

I am going to Install Hyperion Essbase on AIX (Version: 6.1) on 64-bit and Other Hyperion application like EAS,EIS, calc manager, Foundation services, Financial report and planning on windows 2008 SP2 with 32-Bit.
I future any connectivity issue will occur with two different bit type or there will no issue.
Please guide me here, above combination is fine or not.

Hi,
I installed OBIEE 11g on Linux 64 bit and it worked fine after installation. I rebooted the system and I need to start it again.
I am trying to run
run-sa.sh
run-saw.sh
etc.
but it looks like the scripts are broken:
./run-saw.sh: line 43: syntax error near unexpected token `('
./run-saw.sh: line 43: `ANA_INSTALL_DIR=$N($P(installLocation))'
it looks like these scripts were not processed by the installer during installation, $N($P(installLocation)) should have been replaced by the installer with actual paths I assume.
is there another way to start OBIEE?

Are you sure you are running OBIEE 11g? YOu are meant to use those scripts any more in 11g. See this post:

Hyperion Essbase 9 and database.mdb

Hi all, I have installed Hyperion Essbase 9
- Hyperion essbase 9 server
- Hyperion essbase 9 administration services
- Hyperion essbase 9 cliend add-in for excell
Now i want do olap analysis on a database foodmart.mdb. I have problem to load it on essbase server. I can create only new db.

Of the 24 tables in your Access, not all have data in . You might need to code SQL to pull the required data or make one smart data source file to load it into the cube .For that one needs to know what exactly the final presentation of your reports would look . I see few tables are just meant for description and other tables have data . Firstly,Request you to understand the essbase load process, which includes the campatible data sources and their formats .
As Andy suggested , DBAG or essbase tutorial is a good option . "SQL interface " documentation along with all Hyperion documentation can be found in the following URL

Is Part 5 missing or not needed ? Can someone pl. confirm if this media pack is complete and that they didnt have problems installing.

License File for Hyperion Essbase Release 7.1.6.7 Server window

I have to install Hyperion Essbase Release 7.1.6.7 Server windows on window2003. Have been locking for the license file for this version on l"http://licensecodes.oracle.com/hyperion.html". However could not locate the file for the respective Essbase version. Can anyone kindly let me know from where can I download the license file.

I think the docs are just out of date/incorrect (fancy that).
Per http://licensecodes.oracle.com/hyperion.html:

And on that page I see:
Alternately, you may download and install Essbase 7.1.6.5 available from Oracle E-Delivery. You can locate this software and corresponding documentation by selecting the Hyperion Performance Management BI product pack and the appropriate operating system. Search results will display the Pre-Version 9 media pack which includes the 7.1.6.5 software. This fix does not require a license file.Note the last sentence -- you are free and clear of license files.
I always wondered where people were getting copies of 7.1.x -- apparently there's a pre-version media pack -- I had no idea.

Problem opening excel files due to Hyperion Essbase Addin

When trying to open an Excel file as an attachment from Outlook (with Excel closed), Excel opens and tries to open the file. However, the file never opens. If Excel is already open and I try to open the file from Outlook, it works fine.I initially thought it was an option in Excel that needed to be changed. However the problem only started after I installed Hyperion Essbase. So I uninstalled Hyperion, and I no longer had the problem. Does anyone know why Hyperion Essbase is causing this problem?
