Installing iCloud on my MAC

I entered my Apple ID & PW for using iCloud, but I cannot open it on my MAC or iPad.
My iPad2 is ver. 4.3.5 and able to upgrade to 7.1, but I cannot do this either.
I cannot find iCloud on my MAC menu or backup in my iPad settings.

Here is a list of minimum requirements to use iCloud:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
So why can't you upgrade your iPad? Have you tried plugging your iPad into your computer and upgrading through iTunes, as that is the only way it can be upgraded using your version of iOS.

how can i install icloud to my mac which is running on Mac OS X version 10.6.8 ?

You must first upgrade to 10.7.5 or later.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • How to install iCloud on my Mac Pro.

I want to install iCloud on my Mac Pro. I updated the software as requested and opened systems preference but I cant seem to find the iCloud icon. How do I add my Mac Pro to my iCloud devices? Thank you in advance for your help...

Open the Mac App Store and try purchasing Mountain Lion 10.8. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) or better CPU with at least 2GB of RAM, and if it does, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
A Mac Pro(not MacBook Pro) with at least 2GB of RAM automatically meets the requirements for Lion.

  • HT4910 hello i have installed icloud on my mac, ipad and iphone. but when i create a document on my mac it does not show up on Pages file in my Ipad/ How do i get it to go from one to the other? and how do i back up to icloud from my Mac

    Hello
I have uploaded and installed ICLOUD to all three of my devices MAC, i pad nd Iphone.
From Ipad to Iphone i am able to retrieve PAGES documents as i write them. BUT now that i am back home i see that none of the new documents i am working on which are stored on my desktop are showing up in my PAGES file on my Ipad or Phone.
How do i save to icloud from mac, how come i can't retrieve docs from IPAD to MAC either?
should i back up my mac ICLOUD FIRST? and if so, Where do i back it up from?
going mad as i edit on one during the day and the other in the evening , and would like them to sync automatically
    please can you help
    thanks
    marellaopp

SADLY  not as i downloaded an upgrad to my original PAGES/
i have in the meantim had to open www.icloud. then from there import the file that i am working on and then check on ipad if it uploaded/ yes it did.
but what a waste of time as it doesn not save any changes done automatically back in the cloud....
i am now downloading the new LION and hope that it will fix the problem
i cant find any other way. I was lead to believe that you wrote, it saved automatically, on to the cloud, you then opened anohter device in anotother country even, and the new file was there, waiting, in its latest version.......
and the same magic was supposed to happen in reverse.
    It doesn't/
if i have to open a browser, go to www.icloud....why on earth did they not just leave us an icon to drop it in in that case?
I hope the new lion will help resolve the isssue/
any other ideas> keep em coming...thank you so much.

Upgrade it to 10.7.2 or greater.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    A. Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. • HT204053 How do I install install icloud on my MAC. I have an updated OSX but I do not have it.

How do I install icloud onto my iMac? My phone has it, but for some reason I do not have it installed on my Mac.

Im running 10.6.8, so i guess i cant use iCloud then, but can you (or anyone) please clarify these questions:
    1. Can i use MobileMe for sync in any way? - i still have the mobile-me-button in my system pref (see picture below) but i cant log in. BUT, i can log in at icloud.com with my old MobileMe-user.
    2. If the answer to question 1 is no, how can i sync iCal between my iPhone 4 (running iOS 6.0.1) and my mac? In iTunes, under "info" it says that my calendars will sync wireless using iCloud (wich is impossible seeing as my OS doesnt support iCloud?)

     Sorry... you cannot.
However... Once you have iClound Established on your iPhone... you will be able to use your Computer to access iCloud at iCloud.com.

  • How do I install iCloud on my mac

I have recently installed Snow leopard and Lion and everything is working fine, but I can't access my cloud as an app like I can on my other mac.  I can get to the icloud, but I want to use 2 computers to upload files, etc.

Snow Leopard is not compliant with iCloud's requirements; Lion 10.7.2 is required.

When upgrading the Mac OS X backup all your important data first.

  • HT204053 how to instal icloud on my mac - I still have Mobileme and Icloud does not appear

how can I replace MobileMe with ICloud on my IMac?

The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is now non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price (though it's reported to have been removed from sale in some countries so may well cease to be available generally) but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

  • My system is mac os x ver.10.5.8  How do I install icloud?

I have mac os x ver10.5.8 to install icloud do I have to upgrade to Snow Leopard?

To start you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard version 10.6.7. Some iCloud features are available, but the primary iCloud features won't be available until later this year after the release of Lion.
You can purchase Snow Leopard at an Apple retailer or the Online Apple Store. This will then enable you to access the Mac App Store in order to purchase and download Lion after its release.
