Installing infinity- pulla cable from outside? or ...

Hi, I am using BT total broadband now and wish to upgrade to infinity
however, I am renting house only now and the landlord won't allow too many alternation with the house.
May someone tell me when installing infinity, will a hole be drilled to pull a cable
or simply alter the original bt socket inside house? if so, can socket upstair be the master socket?
and will there be problem for next renter if i move out? and do I just simply tell bt about the moving and install again?
and do the phone work as the total broandband and phone now or need to plug into the phone socket separately?

The only difference is that the BT engineer will install a different faceplate on your BT master socket.
It shouldn't cause any problems with your landlord.

my 'requirement' is more that I have on a single OBIEE page;
1. Non OBIEE web form which is dual purpose; -
a. To act as parameters to restrict and remodel data in results of 2 below.
b. On press of a button <Store Result> the web form stores the data and effects a mass data change based on paramters and modelling values
2. A simple OBIEE report which has its data restricted cf 1a above and its data remodelled cf 1b above
Ideally I would like to do it all in OBIEE but (I am in 10g - please tell me if you think 11g changes the picture significantly); -
1. Prompts are okay, but not flexible enough for what I am trying to achieve
2. Postback is okay, but I would like pre-database validation - I can do it via a trigger, but there is no way to propogate back error messages and I would rather prevent errors with the web form, than need to prevent them
Hence my reason for considering this hybrid solution, BUT - please suggest if you think there is a vastly superior way to do this??

Regarding Pulling out network cable from cluster node

I have two cluster nodes installed with my application.
I have pulled out the Network cable from the primary where my application is running. So the primary is not reachle from remote box.(cannot ping primary)
I have found the following error messages
SUNW,hme0 : No response from Ethernet network : Link down -- cable problem?
I have found the device group and resource group online the primary and the sun cluster does not failover to secondary node. Does Sun cluster support this scenario ?
Or do i need to any additional configuration? Can i get clarification on this

and for hotname.hme1
192.168.85.20 netmask + broadcast + group testgroup1 up \
addif 192.168.85.22 deprecated -failover netmask + broadcast + up
you can safely replace the addresses by names if they are in /etc/hosts
In this case the -failover flag for the physical of your example is wrong.
If you only have one adapter,
One line in /etc/hostname.hme0 like you stated in your example is correct.
this is from one of my clusters.
deulwork20 group sc_ipmp0 -failover
it is the ipmpgroup Sun Cluster creates for you if you do not specify anything else. so for one single adapter one line like "hadev1 group sc_ipmp0 -failover" is correct.

Charged for failed self install even though it was outside cable issue

Recently I moved and opted for self-install. I did all the set up correctly on my end but was still not getting internet service. I called and a technician was sent out and the technician also couldn't set it up because he determined the issue was with the outside line. He told me another technician would need to come out, at no charge to me, to run a new wire into the apartment for me to get service. The second technician came out a week later and did the work and again, no mention of charges for services was given or indicated on the receipt I was left with and signed. Sure enough I check my bill this month and there is a failed self-install fee of $100! I talked to customer service in chat and they said the best they could do is $30 even though I was told I would NOT be charged for the 2nd technician. I was also told that $50 service charges are mandatory whenever someone comes out, even though this specific charge is for a bogus failed self-install and not for a generic service visit. It wouldn't be so much of an issue if the first technician had just said "by the way it will cost $100 for the 2nd technician to install the new wiring from the cable box" instead of telling me it would be free. Why can't the technicians and service reps just be up front from the begining? This has been very frustrating. I still don't see the $30 credit and I should be getting a FULL credit because charge is completely bogus and the technicians should be trained to explain in advance all fees for services

How do I install OS 10.4 on tower and pull everything from a G5 hard drive in an enclosure?

My iMac G5 logic board fried. I'll take out the hard drive, put it in an enclosure and try to move everything to my spare G4 Mac tower. I'll install 10.4, but how do I get it to pull everything from the G5 hard drive in the enclosure?

Oh, you can see it in Finder, I thought it didn't show up at all. Creating a new user with admin powers is probably the best you can do, pull all the data etc from the external and assign it to the new user, then, if you have nothing else on the tower, use the new identity as your main one. If you do have data you need already on the tower, drag the important stuff into the new Admin account.

Is there anyway to PAY BT to install infinity even...

Ok I live in a culdisac. The people at the top of the street can get ininifty but we down the bottom cannot. The street is like 80m long if that.
Is there no way to pay bt or SOMEONE to install infinity even though the number checker says no?
If I dont have Infinity its 2-3Mb which is not great since I work from home alot and have to remote into work.
Please help...
or suggest alternative connections.. (our area isnt cabled).

Unfortunately it may be down to the route that your copper phone line currently takes. Concievably it could be heading in the complete opposite direction of your neighbors to a non Infinit cabinet, which is why its not indicating that infinity is available. Its a very high risk strategy, but MAYBE if you were to order a new line you might have success?

Connecting tomcat from outside

Hi! I�ve searched but couldnt find anything teaching how to setup tomcat to be accessed from
outside.
I only can access it using http://localhost:8080.
But if I give my ip to someone else outside, he cant connect. All the tutorials I found only teach us how to install and access tomcat from localhost.

I have installed tomcat-5.5, and i can access to the server over the lan, with default installation.
I think you have to configure the NAT Port Forwarding to redirect the services to the machine where the server is running,
or
firewall configuration.

Unable to connect to the server to pull data from mysql

I am novice working with Flash Builder 4 and I just created a test application which runs well in my computer pulling data from Mysql using PHP and populating a datagrid. But when I transfered it to the my hosting provider failed. I have been doing some modifications to the gateway.php and amf.config.ini to solve some of the issues. Now the application try to run but doesn't populate the data in the datagrid. I included a tracking point in my data service file to read the connections variables, but they come up in blank. Thank you for you prompt response. Yes, I have changed the connections variables in my dataservice ( I didn't post real values). You are right, after all I didn't make changes on the gateway.php except to add some tracking points. The one that I changed is the amf.config,ini. The application runs without any error exceptions, but don't populate the datagrid. According with the tracing is stoping just when establishing the connection to the database. Please let me know if you have any other clue. thanks

I installed 10.6.8 from 10.6.6 on my Macbook Pro and now can't open Safari-think it's something to do with the Intego anti-virus software. Reverted Intego software back to default state and now computer just boots ups up slowly and can't access a thing.

I installed 10.6.8 from 10.6.6 OS on my MacBook Pro and have not been able to open secure sites on Safari. Think it has something to do with the Intego Anti-virus installed. Tried restoring Intego to default status and now my Mac barely boots up and does nothing else but spin. Ugh. Has anyone had similar issues and if so, were you able to resolve? How? Thanks,

1: Backup your user files folders of Documents, Music, Pictures etc., to a external powered drive (not TimeMachine) and disconnect.
2: Insert the 10.6 installer disk and reboot holding c
3: Simply reinstall OS X without erasing the drive, it will overwrite the installed version of OS X and the root level software, but leave your Applications folder contents (expect Apple bundled programs) and user files alone. (but backup anyway in case it fails)
4: Reboot and the Integro is gone out of your system, but there may still be something laying around in Applicaitons to delete. Use Software Update to get up to date.
5: You don't need anti-virus on a Mac, Apple provides it already for you sight unseen.
6: If you Software update, the bad certificate issues are pulled, thus are not a threat.

Trying to access my 851w from outside my lan, but can access inside fine

I purchased a 851w to use as my home router and to learn more about the cisco IOS. I have been spending some time studying for CCENT/CCNA and so far I have enjoyed learning as I go. However, I am having problems accessing this router from a remote location via ssh. I can access it just fine from my lan, but not outside it from another location. Currently, I am not using this router for internet access or anything else other than learning about the IOS, and it is connected to a basic dlink wireless router dir-615. I have port forwarding setup on the dlink that any traffic coming in on port 22 is directed to the 851w at 192.168.0.150. I also have the 851w connected with a crossover cable to a switch that is connected to the dlink router.
Like I said, I can connect just fine from my lan, but can't connect from outside. I have tried a few different things but nothing works. I also use Teraterm to connect, but have tried Putty too. I also use ddns to access it, but I have also tried the wan ip address of the dlink with no luck.
Could someone please take a look at my very basic running config and explain what I might need to do different?

Wouldn't it automatically send anything it doesn't know about to the 192.168.0.0/24 router?
I have one of the switch ports, Fast Ethernet 0, connected to another switch connected to the dlink router. I have tried different ports but it didn't change anything. I don't have anything connected to the wan port of the 851w. I was trying to simulate remote access of a switch on an internal network. My next step would be to make the 851w my default router and then try to access it from the outside, but I wanted to succeed this way first.

Thank you everyone. I apologize to confusing all but I am up to date and running OS X 10.8.2. It's possible I purchased the key for Office but I don't think so although it was 3-4 years ago. I guess I will stop in the Apple Store and just ask. I may just buy the new bundle anyway to get the most updated.

Windows server anywhere access not working from outside the lan

ok so heres what i have done so far i installed windows server 2012 essential on a computer followed the wizard to add a couple of users and gave them anywhere access followed the wizard and ran the anywhere access to completion setup the ports 80 and 443
on router manually to forward to my router ip 10.0.1.20
my server is still on dynamic ip
then i go to a windows 7 ultimate computer whent to the connect url downloaded the connect tool ran to completion and restarted the computer so far everything working inside my lan i can connect to the server see shared files and open the dash management
now i go outside connect to a wired or wireless network of a friend and try to connect to http://xxxxxxx.remotewebaccess.com
but am unsuccessfull then i check on my network adapter page and see that there is a new adapter that is called as my remotewebaccess.com so i click on it and try to connect but still fails........
please help what am i doing wrong?
i checked everywhere and cant find a solution.

It is probably better to assign a static IP to your server, but OTH it may not change. But you really hate to go off on vacation and have the ip change and everything break.
Now you said you forwarded ports 80 and 443 to your router, I bet you meant your server?
Do www.whatismyip.com and from outside ping xxxx.remotewebaccess.com and make sure they are true same ip
From a PC or the server on your network go to grc.com and do shields up and make sure it reports 80 and 443 as open

Remote Desktop in Server 2012 is inaccessible from outside of LAN

We have a server 2012 machine it was setup and accessible via Remote Desktop for months. A few days ago we wiped it and did a fresh install of Server 2012. Now we can not remote to the server from outside of the LAN, even though it is setup exactly
as it was before.
Here is a checklist of things I have checked while trying to figure out the break:
Router/firewall is forwarding port 3389 to the correct internal static IP of the server. Port forward test tools online confirm the port is open.
Windows firewall is set to allow all connections for Remote Desktop on 3389. Also tried turning off firewall completely, does not fix the issue.
Allow remote connections is enabled in System Properties, and users have been added to the list of allowed user
Additional info: The server is also a standalone Active Directory and Domain Controller.
Remote desktop connections work fine while in the office on the LAN. When remoting to the external IP, it doesn't work, even though it did only days before we re-did the server.

I am talking about RDP over the internet, like from home to the office. We have a static IP assigned to the router from ISP. A static internal IP assigned to the server on the LAN. And the router port forwards 3389 to the assigned IP.
It was working fine before we reinstalled Server 2012. These are the steps I took when reinstalling:
1. format drive and install OS
2. rename the server
3. install SQL server
4. Install TFS and SharePoint
5. Add Active Directory role and promote to Domain Controller
6. Add domain users
7. Enable remote access on the server and add users to remote access list
