Installing infoobjects

Hi,
Please help me on this.
I have actiavted business content for few infoobjects.
They have been installed in unassigned characterstics.
can you please let me know how to move those infoobjects into repsective infoareas.

Goto change mode of infoobject, then 'Master data/Texts' tab
here u have to select (F4) relevant Application components & Info Area and activate..

while performing Install from Administrator Workbench:Business Content I am getting error.
I am trying to install Infoobject catalog 0MMIC_CHA01 and 0MMIC_KYF01 from business content
The error messages appearing are as follows:

Hi
It seems although's are warnings and not errors. Instead of using Simulation just install the content.

Why installed InfoObject can't be found in InfoObjects view but ...

An InfoObject is installed and activated with some red errors, but it can be still found through RSD1, but not InfoObjects view on RSA1, why?

Error while installing BC

HI,
I receive the following error while installing BC
Object 0PURCH_ORG_TEXT CL300 (Transfer Rules,ISMP) could not be collected for object 0PURCH_ORG (InfoObject,IOBJ)
Message no. RSO296
Kly guide us to solve this problem.

Choose these options
Choose following options
Collect the Objects:Automatically
Grouping: Select only necessary objects
Install: Install
RSA1-> Business Contents-> Select your objects-> On the right hand side, select "automatic collection" under "collection mode" and Select "before and after data flow" -> Right Click the selected objects on the left hand side and right click -> Insert Objects for collection-> Once the selected objects comes to the right hand side, select "install" and click "install in background".

If the info object is not assigned in application component, it will installed in unassigned node.
In AWB click infobject->Unassigned nodes->Unassigned characteristics.
To bring installed InfoObjects into required InfoObject catalogue, double click on the InfoObject catalogue and in the next screen select your InfoObject in the right side, move it to left side through arrow. Then activate the InfoObject catalogue. You would be able to see your InfoObjects.

Problem in mapping Infoobjects in Transfer Rules

Hello Friends,
I need your help regarding following issue:
I installed ODS named STABILITY STUDY : INSPECTION RESULTS QUANT. DATA (0QM_DS02) from Business Content.
The ODS & Update Rules have been installed properly.
Few infoproviders had been already installed at the time of implementation, hence majority of the infoobjects existed from before. Only few were new.
Now when i tried to map transfer rules, newly installed infoobjects are not seen in data source.
The data source is 2LIS_05_QE2 and few of the infoobjects not being mapped are:
Sum of Target Value (0SUMSOLLW)
Target Val.Available (0IND_SOLLW)
Phys. Sample Number (0PHYS_SP)
Inspect.Lot Origin (0LOT_HERK)
Inspection Method (0PMETHODE)
Plant of Insp. Meth. (0PPLANT)
Insp. Meth. Version (0PMTVERSION)
Can any one suggest me how should i proceed??

Dear Anuradha,
Before installing transfer Rules or infosource first u have to install the datasource in source system and replicate it into bw.
If u have done this already then u want to map some objects in transfer rules then u have to check whether those fields available in the datasource , If they are available then goto transfer structure click datasource/transfer strucature tab there right side box u can see the unmapped fields in black colour move them to right side then go to transfer rules map those fields to infoobjects.
If the fields are not there in the datasource u cant do any thing just activate the transferrules.
Assign points if it solves ur problem...........or clearly reply what is ur problem.

Infoobject Error

Hi All,
I have new BI system . i installed infoobjects for masterdata first and loaded. but when i tried to load material masterdata it showed me error records in PSA about length . So, i go to OMSL (T-CODE) and gave length 18 and save. now i have loaded data successfully in 0MATERIAL_TEXT but when i clicked on any infoobject like 0MATERIAL , 0PLANT , 0VENDOR it shows me error like below...

Diagnosis
Screen SAPLRSD_GUI_IOBJ_MAINT 1200 uses the structure RSDGSCIOBJ from the ABAP Dictionary. This structure was changed in the ABAP Dictionary during the run of the current transaction or the current program ABAP (time stamp of the structure in the program: 20051107121729, time stamp of the structure in the ABAP Dictionary: 20081003114637).
System Response
The program/transaction cannot be continued. The processing was terminated.
Procedure
Start the program/transaction again. The current version of the program will be loaded which will resolve the inconsistency.

Install Info Objects

How to install all Info Objects from Business Content to BW at a time?

Hi Ganesh,
I think, it is not possible to select all the infoobjects at a time from BI content, however you can select and install Infoobject catalogs with Indata flow before and install the infoobjects.
By doing this, you can install a set of info objects at a time.

How to activate the Info object catalog in Business content

Hi,
While trying to activate the Info object catalog, I found that some of the info objects under this catalog was earlier activated by some other developer. I brought this catalog (0SALES_CHA01) over to the Business content activation panel ( with only 'necessary object settings ) and all the info objects that also came along were de-selected since I didn't want to install those again). When I tried to install these I get an error indicating that some of the info object in question are not already active.. and ultimately the catalog doesnt get activated , although more than half of its infoobjects are already active under the '0CHANOTASSIGNED' node.
Please let me know whether I can get only the Catalog activated without getting any existing activated info object merged or installing those which are not already activated.

Hello Arunava,
Just drag the infoobject catalog as u did earlier to the left in the bus cont installation screen with "only necessary object" option.
Dont try to deselect any object. Go ahead with the default options and install in background.
Now you can check for the available objects in the catalog. if you have some objects missing, and available in unassigned node,double click on the newly installed infoobject catalog, select the required objects (which are not yet assigned to this) from the left side and bring them to the right side.
this will make the unassigned objects assigned to the required catalog.

Business Content- Installation in Background

Hello Experts,
Im trying to Install (0CA_TS_IS_2) infosource in the back ground, and checked the status of the job in SM37, it was active from almost an hour and came up with a system exception error_message.
Will I be able to install the infosource and IOC and IC again?
How do i have to delete the already installed InfoObject catalog in business content?

Hi Lucky,
Lenght of activation job only depends on number of objects in data flow.
When using "In data flow before" for instance, obviously activation will take a lot longer.

ERROR - no available datasource for source system exist

I tried to load the master for 0Bill_Type
1) Install infoobject business content and Create infoobject
2) Activate datasource in R/3
3) Replicate datasource
4) Assign infosource ---> the error said no available datasource for source system exist
When I go to source system--> Object overview --> I don't see anything at all?
Please advise what went wrong ?

I think you have not transferred the APPLICATION COMPONENT HIERARCHY yet. If not, then do the following:
1. In your R/3 system execute TCODE = SBIW.
2. Go to BUSINESS CONTENT DATASOURCES
3. Execute TRANSFER APPLICATION COMPONENT HIERARCHY by clicking the CLOCK.
Replicate you datasource then check it on your BW system

Hi Ankit,
For these infoobjects, in Tocde RSD1, do the version comparison between active and content version.
It might reveal what is the inconsistency.

Can anybody help me in the following...help would be very much appreciated and points are assured......
1) In the Los & Generic extraction once the extract structure is ready how can we check
(TCODE) whether it is correct or not? Please explain in detail? (I think RSA3 right)
2) And if once records are loaded into the setup table how can we check the data or view the data? (TCODE)
And how we validate whether records are correct or not?
3) Why T code s RSA5, RSA6, are used for?
4) How can we do modifications to the existing Business content such as additions or deletions as per the scenario?
5) How can we optimize extractors? Process?

You need to come from the scratch.
Create/Install InfoObject > Add it in Tran Rules > Add it in Data Target > update rules
5) How can we optimize extractors?
Optimize the code in case of Generic Datasources extracting through FM / coding..

just new in this community and hope you can help with my encountered problem regarding Installation in BI content.
I'm trying to activate:
InfoObject Catalog (technical name) : 0CHANOTASSIGNED
InfoObject Catalog(description)        : Unassigned characteristics
upon installation here is the job log that i got:

thanks for the response.
i verified the objects included on the BI content objects window and noticed that the object 0CUST_CLASS_TEXT "active version" is not available and i tried finding 0CUST_CLASS_TEXT_BA and cannot find it.
does this have an effect on the error i got from activating and receiving the error upon activation?
The object R3TR ISTS 0CUST_CLASS_TEXT_BA does not exist
I did follow a document for Building Block Configuration Guide:
B03: General Settings for BI Integration
and the step is included here:
Activating Business Content: InfoObject Catalogs:
1.     On the Data Warehousing Workbench: Business Content screen:
a.     At the top of the right hand frame, choose Grouping and select In Data Flow Before.
b.     At the top of the right hand frame, choose Collection mode and select collect automatically.
c.     In the left hand frame, select Object Types.
d.     In the middle frame, expand InfoObject Catalog and make a double-click on Select Objects.
2.     In the Selection of Query Objects dialog box.
a.     Select the following InfoObject catalog:
0CHANOTASSIGNED
b.     Choose Transfer Selections.
c.     If a dialog box Remote Activation in the Source System <> occurs, choose OK and log on to the source system on the following screen.
d.     If a dialog box appears Exceeded runtime when collecting objects choose Continue.
3.     At the top of the right frame, choose Install and select Install in Background.
4.     In the Install Business Content in the Background dialog box choose Yes.
5.     In the Information dialog box choose Continue.
6.     Choose Exit.
please advise on how to continue.

Installed and active Infoobjects not seen in workbench Infoobjects

Hello Friends,
I have installed an ODS from Business Content (BW Development).
This ODS is regarding Quality Inspection.
Infoproviders for similar interest were installed before.
So few infoobjects existed and few had to be installed.
Now after installation, it shows me the infoobjects in ODS (right click ->object overview and in infosource ) which are active, but they are not found in workbench infoobjects.
Can any one suggest how should i proceed now?

Hi,
The better way of Activating steps are:
1) Activate the Datasources and extraction structures for required application in R/3 and replicate them into BIW.
2) install the <b>Infoobject catalogs</b> in that area(QM,PM,..) with Dataflow before.
3) Install the Datatargets with DFbefore one by one .
4) Install the Datatargets with DFafter one by one .
So that it will make the Infoobjects to sit under proper Infoobject catalogs rather making unvisible in RSA1.

Installed BC InfoObject 'X' - Can not find it from RSA1, but from RSD1

    I have installed the Business Content InfoObject 0ME_REVO_PA. I could find this InfoObject from RSD1 and it is active. I could see it in Business Content section also with Active status, but I can not find it from RSA1 under InfoObjects section. I have to find under which InfoObject Catalog it has been created.
    What could be the problem, please ?

   As per Edwin Harpino's suggestion, ran function module (se37) RSDG_IOBC_REORG
with following Import parameter :
I_OBJVERS A
I_PROGRESS
I_IOBJTP *
I_ALL_IOBJ X
I_T_IOBJNM 0 entries
I_BYPASS_BUFFER
   Now, I could see it in RSA1 also.
