Installing iPhoto5 on OS X (10.2.8).  Can I do this?

I just bought a new PMG5 dual. It came with iPhoto 5 installed. Since I have my iPhoto library on a network disk, I pointed iPhoto 5 to it. A box came up asking if I wanted to update the Library. Apparently I read it that older versions would still be able to read it - I was wrong. Now my iMac with iPhoto 2 cannot read my Library anymore.
My question is can I get iLife 5 and install iPhoto 5 on OSX 10.2.8? I know the other apps like Garageband will not run. I have a iMac DV special running a G3 at 500Mhz.
Have I lost my Library for good on my iMac?

Hooker,
If you export the new library and import it into iPhoto 2 you will lose all your metadata. If you open iPhoto 5, make sure all your images are in albums, then export each album. Open iPhoto 2 on the older Mac, then import each album, you will at least have your albums together as a roll. If you had images in more than one album, you will have duplicates I am thinking.
As for the question of iPhoto 5 running on a G3, yes it will, but you need to have it running 10.3.4 as far as I can tell.
