Found that my usual Flash Player no longer can be used so had to download latest version of Flash 11.6.602.171 But seemed not doqnloaded although a message said it is "successful". I had disabled Dwnload from my Real Player, enabled Flash Player in Firefox, enabled Javascript to dwnload Flash- all to no avail. Can't open the Youtube video and has the message "error, try again later". Please help solve issue

Can you see the Flash animation at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html ?

    Hi there, harleygirl.
A look around the internet and my previous knowledge indicates this is not an issue with firefox, but with how the server that the app is run on is incorrectly configured. To test this, please install an old version of firefox. You can download an older version from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html then try to visit the website again. Please let us know if it turns out that it works with version 3.6

Open iPhoto, select a couple of photos and use the Share ➙ iWeb ➙ Photo page menu option.  That has jump started iWeb for others.  I could take a couple of tries.
If that doesn't work try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iiWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder.
3 - launch iWeb and try again.

my computer displays grey screen and apple logo for 10 minutes or more during start up and shut down. sometimes it refuses to shut down . this issues started after installing OS lion. what do i do?

I don't think it's exactly an incomplete installation brody, but most likely in-correct permissions somewhere along the line that either happened, or became magnified during the upgrade. Also, it could be corruption as well.
First thing to do, is boot up holding down Shift key to do a safe-boot so we an clean up any corrupted OS caches, after that do another reboot, but go to the Lion recovery, and scan the HD for errors, repair any if you find them, and then try to do a Repair Permissions job.
That should fix the issue, if not, we can start doing a PRAM reset  and SMC for good measure.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

  • Mac OSX: Flash CS3 Font Install Issues

    Hi,
I have a Mac Powerbook G4 with OS X installed and Adobe CS3.
I've installed a font. The font works in Photoshop and Illustrator
but not in Flash CS3. Why? I've put the font in the Library/Fonts
folder and the User/Fonts folder and it still doesn't show up in
Flash. Apparently this is a problem for a number of people see
    another forum here:
    MAC
OSX: Flash CS3 Font Install Issues Forum
Please let me know what to do to fix this. I need to be able
to work with the font in all three applications Flash, Photoshop
    and Illustrator.

    Hi davidd61713525,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
Unfortunately, it looks like something is wrong with the file system and the installer can't see the root drive to install to.  A Google search returns numerous results affecting various products and the recurring theme is that something is wrong with the disk.  There are many recommendations from various sources, but nothing definitive.
Here's a similar thread over on the Apple forums:
Broken Installer Permissions | Apple Support Communities
    And a similar older one:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1203509
I would try the following options:
Try using the PKG installer. This is used Mac SysAdmins to install Flash Player within their organization and uses a slightly different installer path, which may or may not work.
Some people have had success with disk and permissions repair some have not.  You can try running a disk and permissions repair.  After the disk and permissions repair is complete, reboot the system and try to install again using either the online installer (get.adobe.com/flashplayer) or the offline installer, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the ‘Still having problems’ section.
If these options do not work, I'd reach out to Apple support to see if they have a suggestion.  If you do find a resolution to this, please let me know.  I'll be happy to share it with people that encounter the problem in the future.

  • Error when installing issue in Content Viewer

    Hi,
I have a strange error in my Content Viewer.
When downloading it stalls and a message says "Could not install issue, relaunch app and download your purchase again" (my translation from swedish).
It sometimes stalls when downloading and sometimes when installing issue.
Anyone got a solution or having the same problem?
    Br
    Henrik

Henrik, this can be either or. The internal Acrobat.com servers seem to have download issues once a week or so.
The best way I think you can determine this is if the download is failing at the same point during the download. If it is, it's a problem with the folio. If it's not, then it's a temporary problems with the servers.
If it is a problem with the folio, there's no straightforward answer -- but if you were able to download that folio recently, delete or update the articles you've added since.
If you have no idea what's causing it, you can either start deleting articles, or try updating them first.

  • WMP 11 - Installing Issues

    Hello,
Oke, as ALWAYS there is issues with the stupid rights in Windows operating systems....
Is there anyone whom successfully deployed Windows Media Player 11, with help of "Enterprise Deployment Pack" via ZENworks when the target user is NOT an admin?
I havnt asked after the new unofficial EDP for WMP11, i made the msi-package together with the EDP for WMP 9/10. Yes, this should work for a succesfull deployment of WMP11.
    Here's what i've done:
    1. Downloaded the installationpackage of WMP11 with swedish lauguge-pack, wmp11-windowsxp-x86-SV-SE.exe. And also the EDP, mpedp.exe.
    2. I installed WMP11 on a clean mashine, and made my configurations.
    3. I installed EDP.
    4. Copied the installationpackage of WMP11, wmp11-windowsxp-x86-SV-SE.exe over to the folder C:\MPEDP\Redist. Renamed this copied file to mpsetup.exe.
    5. From a command line, i run C:\MPEDP\mpedp.exe.
    6. I made my options here, and let the repackaging be made and later on i found my complete msi-package, C:\MPEDP\release\mpsetupedp.msi.
    7. Used tuner (adminstudio) and changed some registrykeys to get rid of the annoying validation that pops up after the first start of WMP11, disabled the autoupdate and etc.
I removed the entry of "You need to be admin to make this installation" under the LaunchCondition-table.
And lastly i changed the Versionnumber from 10.0.0.3802 to the correct one, 11.0.5721.5145. In the Setup Properties. Since the EDP is made for 10, it thinks its still the version of 10...
From here i used my msi+mst in ZENworks, used the property "Distribute in Workstation Security space if...." and associated my workstation, granted file rights via Common > File Rights to the msi+mst.
When i later try to distribute it with a NON-admin user, the installation get thru and no errors occurs from zenworks.
But when i start wmp from the start menu i get up WMP9 (since its installed by default from XPSP2 or/and SP3 i guees?)
When you made a successfull install of WMP11 you will get the following logs:
The location of these logs is, %WINDIR%\
..\wmsetup.log (the core installer log file for wmp11)
    ..\wmfdist11.log ( a detailed results for WMFDist11.exe)
..\wmp11.log (these are the detaild results for WMP11.exe)
..\Wudf01000Inst.log (these are the detailed reulsts for the UMDF portion of the install)
..\updspapi.log (these are the detailed reulsts for update.exe)
Oke, my issue is that the only log-file that apears is wmsetup.log. After Ive tried to deploy it with ZENworks.
The information i get is (i didnt copied the beginning of the log-file):
    Setup commandlines are C:\DOCUME~1\Standard\LOKALA~1\Temp\IXP001.TMP\setu p_wm.exe /NoPID /Q:A /R:N /DisallowSystemRestore.
    Validation completed.
    Setup beginning.
    =====Building Install list.
Finished building install list. Result: '0x0'.
    =====Updating Install list for UI.
Package 'MYMUSIC' is not currently installed: no version of it appears to be present on the system.
Install denied: user is not an admin.
    Finished updating install list.
Install denied: user is not an admin.
Package clean-up: Cleaning up files at 'C:\DOCUME~1\Standard\LOKALA~1\Temp\WMC0000.tmp\Ro llup3.exe'.
If we compare with a succesfull log-file:
    Setup commandlines are C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOKALA~1\Temp\IXP001.TMP\setu p_wm.exe /NoPID /Q:A /R:N /DisallowSystemRestore.
    Validation completed.

Package 'MYMUSIC' is not currently installed: no version of it appears to be present on the system.
    Finished updating install list.
=====Installing Install list. Last result: 0x0.
System restore turned off for this install.
    Querying service 'WMPNetworkSvc'.
    Querying service 'WMPNetworkSvc' failed.
There is some lists that fails to be updated and installed?
But, what could i possibly do to get around the admin-rights issue?
Since i had deleted the LaunchCondition, of the created msi-package.. But it seems like all the exe-packages within this msi-package has their own LaunchConditions.
The sad truth is that Ive spend many hours to learn about WMP....
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jokohanho

Not specific to Zenworks, but appdeploy.com is a great resource for
    packaging.

  • Post Install Issue - Command Not Recognised [NOW A NETWORK ISSUE]

After an apparently successful install, when I reboot and type 'ifconfig', I get 'command' not found. Looks like a path command is missing to where that program lives. How can I backtrack and set up paths to where stuff lives?
    Last edited by chome4 (2012-01-15 11:26:03)

Following the beginners' guide, in the post-installation section, I try: '$ ping -c 3 example.com' but I get the response: 'ping: unknown host example.com'
    When I run edit /etc/rc.conf, all I see is: "/etc/rc.conf" 119 lines, 3827 characters.
I did a fresh install following the beginners' guide as apposed to the one I found on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjTTl_9a … re=related) and got the same issues.
    What am I doing wrong?

  • Can not open and install iphoto! What`s the problem?

Can not open and install iphoto! What`s the problem?

The problem is, apparently, that you can neither open nor install iPhoto.
Seriously, you give us nothing to work with.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

can' t read disk label, install issues
i am trying to install solaris 8 on a sparc5 (256mb, 4.2gb,110mhz). i initially installed using the installation disk and it seemed successful as i was able to load the rest of the cds. something went wrong though b/c the system is stuck in a rebooting loop after it finished the last cd. so i went searching and found that i could only have a root partition of no bigger than 1gb. since i used the installation disk, i was not given an option to specify slice sizes. so now, i am trying to redo the install starting from the first disk (1 of 2) and skipping the installation disk. when i do a "boot cdrom" with the 1 of 2 disk, i get the cant read disk label or something about short entry and it will not boot. i am using actual Solaris 8 cds and not downloads. what can i do to get it to boot up from the first disk, or fix the partitioning on the disk?

I am using the offical Solaris 8 Installation 2/02 for SPARC Platform Edition for Sun Computer Systems February 2002, Revision A

My iPhone 4S will not sync with the music I have selected in iTunes.  Has anyone else had this issue and what is the best way to fix it.

    Hi,
    Setting up syncing
Before setting up syncing you should download and install the latest version of iTunes. Wi-Fi syncing requires iTunes 10.5 or later and iOS 5 or later. You can change your sync options at any time. Each time you sync, content is synced between your iOS device and computer to reflect new, updated, or deleted content.
    USB syncing
    Open iTunes.
Connect the iOS device to your computer using the included USB cable and select it in iTunes under Devices on the left-hand side. Some tabs may not appear if you do not have corresponding content in your library. For example if you do not have any podcasts in your library, the corresponding Podcast tab will not appear.
Click Apply, in the lower-right corner of the screen, to sync.
    Wi-Fi syncing
    Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable. Select your device under Devices on the left-hand side.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi".
Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when all of the following are true:
The iOS device is plugged in to power
iTunes is open on the computer
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network
While the iOS device appears in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
    Hope this helps

I just tried to download a free sample of a magazine and received a message saying I need to free up space. The app is newsstand supported and I subscribe to 2 other magazines with a sum total of 3 issues. What am I doing wrong here. Do I need to add more memory space allotted to newsstand, and if so, how? Many thanks.

The GB size of the download file is the compressed size (like .zip or .dmg). When the file is installed/uncompressed it can be 2-3 times larger.
How much space is Other using? You may be able to reduce.
How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.
