Installing iTunes 10 on my new Toshiba

So i am trying to download and install the new iTunes onto my computer, the problem is it will not complete this action. I go through the entire set up, follow all the directions, click all the right buttons and everything. I even wait for all the time for it to load and downlaod into my computer. iTunes does everything that it has in the past when i downloaded it onto my homecomputer but now when i try and download it onto my laptop it gives me an "error". At the very end of the download, like literally the very last thing after i clikc "run application" a message pops up thats says,
Service 'Bonjour Service' (Bonjour Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privilleges to start system services.
This is all that the message says. The options it gives me is "Retry" or "Cancel". If i click retry it'll load for about another 20 seconds and then the same message will pop up. If I click "Cancel"it uninstalls everything then tells me the installer was interupted and the program closes. I have tried this many times and the same exact thing happens everytime.
Can anyone help me please?

Service 'Bonjour Service' (Bonjour Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privilleges to start system services.
By any chance, do you have the Cyber Patrol internet filter installed on that PC? If so, try uninstalling it and then installing iTunes. (If iTunes installs and then runs, you can reinstall Cyber patrol.)

  • TS1436 I just installed itunes 11 on my new computer.  I hooked up my ipod and created a new playlist from my library.  I wanted to burn the playlist to a cd but after I insert the CD, there is no "burn to cd"option. It's not under "file". please help!!!

I installed Itune 11 on my new Dell Inspiron, windows 7, computer.
I wanted to burn a cd from a new playlist I created in my library.  The "burn to CD" option does not come up anywhere?  It's not under "File" and the "tool"at the bottom of the page does not have an option for "burn to cd."
I've made many cds in the past off of OTHER playlists so I'm not sure why it's do difficult now?  What am I doing wrong?
A huge issue to begin with was the songs that Icloud recognized on in my library when I first installed the Itunes 11.  I since was able to "hide"all the old songs but that didn't help my "burning to cd" issue.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, I"m spending way too much time trying to figure this out.
    Thank you!!

    Good lord.
I'd like to try doing a "Run as administrator" on your iTunes.
    Quit iTunes first.
In Computer, open Local Disk C: or whichever drive you have your program files installed on.
If you have a 32-bit Windows, open the "Program files" folder.
If you have a 64-bit Windows, open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
    Open the "iTunes" folder.
Right-click on the iTunes.exe file and select "run as administrator".
Is "Burn Playlist to Disc" showing up in the contextual menu now?

  • Unable to install itunes 9 on brand new computer

Hello I have a brand new compter and I'm trying to install itunes. Each time I get the following message: "This application could not be open. Verify the package exists and that you have access to it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Package"
I have read some post with similar problems and I have installed the Windows Install Clean Up - however there is aren't Apple applications on my computer so there is nothing for the Install to Clean up.
Can you please assist me with loading either itunes 9 or an older version of itunes. I have Windows XP
    Thank you

Each time I get the following message: "This application could not be open. Verify the package exists and that you have access to it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Package"
Hmmm. The installer packages may be getting damaged during the download with that message.
Do you have any better luck downloading a working installer if you use Firefox instead of IE (or vice versa)?

  • HT5030 whem installing itunes i get this message "this installation package could not be opened. Verifiy that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package"

whem installing itunes on my mums new computer which is windows 7 i get this message everytime "this installation package could not be opened. Verifiy that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package"

    Let's check your Windows system.
    1.  Have you done all the important windows updates and service Packs on your system.  If not do it now.  START button, type in Windows Update and ENTER.  Select 'CHECK FOR UPDATES'
    2.  Let's check your Windows system files for possible file corruption
SCAN and repair possible Windows system file corruption:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
    type in
    sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer if it did actually repair any files.
    3.  Check your system for possible Malware.  But you have to do it in WIndows Safe Mode.
Start your computer in "Safe mode with networking", go to this link download a free version of Malwarebyte.
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Install and perform update immediately, then do a full SCAN. Remove malware if it indeed finds any. Restart computer to regular windows to let Malwarebyte complete the removal.
To start your computer in safe mode
Press and hold the F8 key as your computer starts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the "safe mode with networking" option, and then press Enter. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your screen. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

  • HT1364 How to install iTunes, but access music library from external drive?

I tried to install iTunes (11) on a new computer with Windows 8.  I keep the iTunes library on an external drive.  I tried to move the media files over to the newly installed iTunes within the hard drive program files, but it doesn't seem to work.  The relevant threads in the forum are a bit over my head (I am brand new to Windows 8, having leaped over from XP).  Is there some simple way to straighten out the paths on iTunes so that it will properly play songs from the external drive, show my old songlists, etc?
I've now uninstalled iTunes from computer.  Would like to reinstall without too much headache ...

    Hello there FunkyMuzak,
iTunes can be set to use the library on the external drive, and save new content.
To have iTunes open the alternate library on the drive use this option:
Steps to create or choose a different iTunes Library file
If iTunes is running, quit iTunes.
If you are using Windows, hold down the Shift key and from the Start menu and choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes.
If you are using the Mac, open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option key.
You should see one of the following screens:
From: iTunes: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1589
And to tell iTunes to save your new media when you buy songs or movies, etc., use this part of our article named Where are my iTunes files located? found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1391
Discovering and changing the iTunes Media folder location
Note: You would usually only change the iTunes Media folder location to share music between accounts on the same computer. See this article for specific steps on how to accomplish this. Also, see this article if you want to know how to move your music to a new computer.
Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences.
Windows: Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
Click the Advanced pane. iTunes displays the location of your iTunes Media folder.
    You can then:
Note where your media folder is, such as for backing up your media.
Use the Reset button to reset it's location to the default (which is the iTunes folder).
Click the Change button to select a folder for a new location. Once you change this location:
If you make a new or alternate iTunes library, the new location will be used by that library.
Existing files will not be moved unless you choose File > Library > Organize library and choose the option to "Consolidate files."
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Cannot install itunes on windows xp

Hi, I am trying to install itunes on my fairly new laptop running xp service pack 3.
My problem is that itunes does not install. Once the installation starts, it takes about 5 seconds, and then the message "Congratulations installation complete" appears, but nothing has been installed.
    Can anyone provide some assistance?

A good starting point is this article on trouble installing iTunes here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926
Presumably you are downloading iTunes from here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you are running the installer from your browser, try saving it to your desktop and running it from there.

  • Can't install Itunes 6 on Windows XP

    Hi,
I tried installing Itunes 6 on my new laptop using Windows XP. The process gets half way through then ends prematurely. When I attempt to launch Itunes manually I get an error message telling me that some of the files downloaded are corrupt. I also notice that it says the author/license is Unknown.
I've seen a seperate thread here explaining for something that sounds similar that I need to change my User Rights Assignment. Is that the same solution here ?

    hi Byrney!
The process gets half way through then ends prematurely. When I attempt to launch Itunes manually I get an error message telling me that some of the files downloaded are corrupt.
hmmm. just checking something here first. are you running the itunes installation "on-line", or are you downloading and saving the installer to your hard drive and running the installation from there?
    love, b

  • TS5376 Installing iTunes on Windows 8

I am trying to install iTunes on a brand new Lenovo pc using windows 8 but always get the error message "application unable to start correctly (0xc0000018).  I have tried the solutions posted on the apple website but none are really appropriate.  Any ideas on a solution?

Hi. Thanks for replying  Yes I tried that too but it didn't help. I've just kept trying and, for some unknown reason, I've managed to install on my new pc. Unfortunately I'm still trying to sort out the old pc where I've lost all my music that I had uploaded. Thanks again.

  • Insufficient Priviliages on Apple Mobile Devices to install itunes

I try to install itunes on my brand new computer but so far it has given me error 7 and said it fails to install Apple mobile devices because insufficient privilages. Can someone tell me what i can do to fix this?
    Cheers

    Hi,
Hmm ok for me on iphone 1st click on post link does nothing but underline it, 2nd click then opens it - annoying but it works.
On ipad, no amoint of clicking opens the link but if you keep your finger on the link and wait for the popup and then click open it does go in.
So both are usable - just not that friendly.
Maybe next iOS version will update safari and fix this. Closing question for now.

  • Installing iTunes 7 for 2nd Gen Nano

When trying to install iTunes after buying a new Nano teh message at the end of the install process says:
"Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs & DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
....and the notebook then refuses to acknowledge there is a CD/DVD burner attached for use or even in 'My Computer'
The CD diagnostics utility says that the CD/DVD RW is not recognised?!
Is there any way to get it working or does the HP Easynote not support iTunes!!?!?

okay, there's a couple of different ways we can go about this.
the subtle method for sorting out what the filter conflict is is to use the techniques from the following document:
iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting CD issues caused by device filters
(the idea is to use the registry edits to determine precisely which filter entries are conflicting with the iTunes filter entries.)
the quicker and dirtier (but still effective) technique is to use the instructions (or the guided help) from the following Microsoft document to remove all filter entries from the PC:
(MS) CD-ROM access is missing and messages cite error Code 31, Code 32, Code 19, Code 39, or Code 41 after you remove Easy CD Creator in Windows XP
once you've cleared those, you need to put the iTunes filter entries back. otherwise, whenever you launch itunes, you'll probably get the following message flashed at you:
"Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs & DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
to get those entries back for itunes, do a reboot and repair.
Reboot the PC (very important) and then do a repair install of itunes. in your Add/Remove programs, select iTunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
... as to collateral damage. last time i checked, the UK Packard Bells were shipping with a version of RecordNow 7.x preinstalled. so you might want to check to see if that is still operational after the filter edit.
