Installing itunes, couldnt install itunes with quicktime error

hello, i really hope somebody can help me, ok i went to reinstall itunes because i kept getting a window that comes up saying itunes encountered a problem and needs to close, so i went to install it and i got a error saying something about itunes couldnt be installed because it needed quicktime, but i had quicktime, so i tried to unistall it and it wouldnt let me so i went and deleted the program files for quicktime, and then tried to install itunes, it installed but when i tried to run itunes, i get the origional error message saying it encounted a problem. please please help

okay, that's a useful pointer. checking on another couple of things with your current quicktime.
(1) try launching your QuickTime. does it fail to launch, with no error message whatsoever?
(2) try heading into your Control panel and launching the QuickTime control panel. does it open or do you get an error message? if you get an error message, what's the full text of the message? (this can give us a fairly solid heads up on the cause of your symptoms.)

After I install itunes it comes up with a error message saying it was installed incorrectly and that I won't be able to import or burn cds.  I have uninstalled it 3 times and re installed it.  Still happening.  I have taken my computer to get looked at and there is nothing wrong with it.

After I install itunes it comes up with a error message saying it was installed incorrectly and that I won't be able to import or burn cds.
That suggests damage to the GEAR drivers, but we'd better doublecheck.
Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". (If you're running iTunes 11.0.x you'll need to bring up your menu bar first to see the Help menu.) Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".

  • Itunes 10.5 crashes with no error when trying to play any music, video, or import/scan from the library folder on the compter with Windows 7 Pro.

Fresh install with all older itunes un-installed as well as other Apple software.
Now cannot get any songs, videos, or even scan library folder for songs to work on the computer.
itunes just simply crashes with no error comments.
This is itunes 10.5 on a Windows 7 Pro system.

Same here, though on XP. Have tried cleaning registry, reinstalling, deleting preferences. Created a new user with no library and I have the problem there, too, so it's not the library.
Is there no one to call about this??

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Itunes won't install and keeps popping up with an error, any ideas on how to fix this?

Alright so I had recently gotten an iPhone and it didnt recognize when i plugged it in. I tried a bunch of stuff and eventually deleted iTunes and anything along with it. When I tried to reinstall an error box kept popping up. And this happens EVERY time! I am really at a lost of what to do now because I really need iTunes back.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

  • ITunes not working due to QuickTime error

Can’t use iTunes because I get message that says somethings wrong with QuickTime. Using WinXP computer. Tried to install newest QT didn’t work, Removed QT and tried to reinstall – didn’t work.
    Here’s the message:
The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\Quicktime\QTSystem\QuickTime.Resources\en.\proj. the installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator.
I AM logged on as administrator;.
    Apples says to
    1. Empty your Temp directory and restart – Tried that - won’t allow me to empty temp. Says there’s something being used by something else. Everything is closed. And the thing is a bunch of #s and letters that make no sense (cannot delete IaHide4.dll (among others). HOWEVER, I did delete anything that said QuickTime at top of the temp folder (ie recent install items).
Tried ChckDisk "Error Checking" per a recommendation online – but that won’t finish.
Tried to install QT by itself without iTunes and that won’t work either.
Tried to install iTunes and Quicktime - same error message.
Have searched the web for nearly two hours and can’t find an answer.
Any thoughts on how to get QT back an my itunes working?
Can’t access music, update my iPhone etc.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
Great way to start a new year!

Tried ChckDisk "Error Checking" per a recommendation online – but that won’t finish.
If the chkdsk isn't getting the damage, we can try convincing the QuickTime installer to ignore the damaged areas.
In My Computer, open your C drive.
    Open the "Program Files" folder.
    Open the "QuickTime" folder.
    Rename the "QuickTime.Resources" folder QuickTime.ResourcesOLD.
Now try another QuickTime install. Does it go through properly this time?

Even though you're getting a different error message, try heading into the iTunes compatibility tab, as per the following document. (Make sure that none of the boxes in there are checked ... having any box in there checked, not just the compatibility mode box itself, can cause problems.)

  • Whenever I connect my iPhone to iTunes, it comes up with an error message

Okay so my brother received his new iPhone 5s a couple of weeks back and we share an iTunes account so I connected his iPhone to my macbook because his laptop has broken USB ports. Everything was fine and all, but I went to connect my phone to my MacBook this morning as I am expecting my upgrade in a couple of days so I wanted to restore it all. Except as soon as I connect my phone to my MacBook my iPhone goes crazy (I have the 4s), like I was taking the charger in and out incredibly quickly, and then iTunes comes up with the message "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. This device is no longer connected." and I have no idea what's happened or how to resolve it? I have updated my MacBook and my iTunes and reinstalled iTunes but no result, what can I do?

  • Can't play iTunes movie rental because of QuickTime error????

    Dear All,
I just rented and downloaded an HD movie from iTunes ("Despicable Me"), but can't play it, because instead I get the error message: "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."
I do have QuickTime (V.10.1) as well as the latest version of iTunes (11.0.4).
How can I solve this supposed incompatibility problem?
Or can I at least get a refund or credit on the unused rental?
    Thank you!!!

When I read your post, I checked my version of QuickTime, and see that it is version 10.2.
Then I noticed you are not running Mountain Lion - you are still on Lion per your post.
I don't know for sure if that's the problem, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

  • Final Cut Pro X share fails with QuickTime Error -50

    Hello!
I'm facing a very annoying issue when trying to share my project from Final Cut Pro X. It used to work perfectly fine but now I'm getting consistently "QuickTime Error -50" after FCPX exported about 10% of my project. This can be reproduced with other project as well - one time I was able to export by restarting my machine but not anymore.
My configuration is a Mac Pro early 2008 with a ATI Radeon 5770. The only recent change I did to my config was to upgrade my old graphic cards to the Radeon 5770: do you think this can be the cause of this error?
    Thanks for any help,
    Jean

I am also expriencing the same error. Tried every solution listed so far:
    1. Switch off background rendering. Trash render files. Don't render. Export.
    2. copying the project within Final Cut Pro into another project
    3. remove the following folder: Library > Application Support > ProApps > MIO > RADPlugins > XDCAMFormat.RADPlug
Nothing worked. I try to export to Vimeo, YouTube, and master. All error right at 9%
    What's going on?
