Installing itunes failed

Hey everyone,
I wanted to install itunes today, but it failed. Got the error: 0x800736B3.
Tried a few things, but nothing worked. Since I already read a few discussions here, I did check my Window Update and spotted a lot more updates that failed in the past. Seems like they all have the error code 80070643.
Does anyone know, what I could do next?   O?o
(btw. sorry for my english)

Your english is fine.
Seems like they all have the error code 80070643
That one can be a bit tricky. (Partly because the 643 is such a generic error message ... it roughly means "installation failed".)
Let's try the following Microsoft document first:
Windows Update error 80070643
If you can get those updates to install, can you get iTunes to install afterwards?

  • Installing iTunes failes at QuickTime

I am trying to install iTunes on Windows XP and when it gets to QuickTime, it gives me:
    QuickTime installation failed:
    Error Code: -3
OK is the only button to push.
When I run iTunes, it says a lower version of QT is installed and I need to re-install iTunes.
I've tried to uninstall QT, but going through the conrol panel starts the uninstall process, then it just quits. No errors or anything.
    Any suggestions?

dOWNLOAD THE STANDALONE QUICTIME INSTALLER AND DOUBLE CLICKIT, IT'LL LET YOU UNISTALL THE LOWER ONE, YOU HAVE TO RESTART AND THEN YOU CAN INSTALL IT AGAIN! IT DOESNT REALLY SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF ITUNES NOT WORKING BUT AT LEAST YOU'LL HAVE YOUR QUICKTIME ON IT! HOPE THAT HELPS

  • Installing iTunes failed - Source Media Damage

I'm trying to instal itunes 9.2.1 the disk image can't be verified(?)
    I clicked on the iTunes9.2.1.dmg icon and it cam up with installation as usual, however after partially downloading get the following message;
"The source media you are installing from is damaged. Try installing from a different copy of the source media or contact the manufacturer for a replacement". This was when downloading from Apple.
    How can I rectify this?

I have tried doing so, however keep encountering the same problem. It's now doing it for all things I download.

  • How to install iTunes - failed installation

Before another problem occurred, I had iTunes installed and running. Afterward I had to re-install some other programs and iTunes and Quicktime, too. However, when I tried to reinstall iTunes and Quicktime (several different times, too), I had the installation to stop and this message appeared - ["Installation failed. Reinstall iTunes again. Error Code: -3"]
However, an icon for iTunes and Quicktime had been placed on the desktop but when they were clicked, this message appeared:["Failed to initialize Error Code: #634443]
I have tried both to update and to install stand alone programs. Also, I tried removing each only to have the message that they could not be removed because some files were missing.
Can you help me get iTunes and Quicktime installed and running? Thanks.

    hi VRS!
However, an icon for iTunes and Quicktime had been placed on the desktop but when they were clicked, this message appeared:["Failed to initialize Error Code: #634443]
i'm following up on some weird (and rare) possibilities with the messages you're receiving.
did the original problem (that caused the reinstallation of itunes and the other program) involve or result in any major changes to the Registry on your PC?
do you have more than one user account on that PC? if so, go into the other user accounts and try to launch itunes and QT. (don't try any installs at the moment.)
do you find that there's one account in which you can get itunes/QT to launch, but in the others you can't?
    love, b

Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
I am trying to install it on my desktop.  I am also in Administrator mode.  My iTunes stopped working when I was notified that there was a new version of iTunes and would I like to download it. I said yes as always and it was unable to finish the update because of a
    runtime Error!
    Program: C:\program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe

An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contace the application's suport team for more information.
My iTunes stopped working at this time.  I thought I could delete iTunes and start over. This tactic did not work.
Can anyone make sense of what I am saying and help me to get my iTunes back again?

Try a more recent version of my advice. The "for older video cards version" may work when the default version doesn't.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I'm trying to re-install itunes on my laptop & I am getting a message that has stopped the re-install & it says: "Service 'Apple Mobile Device" (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."  The diaglogue box gives me the options to abort, retry, or ignore; when I tried retry and ignore the re-install process stays stalled & the dialogue box comes back & I don't want to abort & start this all over to probably end up with the same issue; what does this mean & what do I do?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

    Hello, Edward.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I think the best option would be to completely uninstall all components of iTunes in the order specified of the article below.  Once this is done attempt to install iTunes again.
