When I want to install iTunes on my server (iTunes64Setup) the only message on my screen is tthat the program is calculating the amount of needed space, that's all
This usually happens if the phone has been Hacked / Jailbroken / Modified...

I am having trouble installing any version of ITunes 10.5 or later
on my Windows 2003 Server PC. I receive the following error
every time I try to install it...
"Apple Mobile Device Support requires that your computer is running Windows XP SP2 or newer"

I'm just surprised Apple doesn't support any Windows Server applications

Purchased music from the iTUnes store is in a "AAC protected" format. It can only be used in iTUnes. Any music you buy online these days will have some protection on it where you can only use it in there program.
The way around this is to burn the purchased songs to a CD in iTUnes. Then goto edit>preferences>advanced tab>Import sub tab and set your import settings to something like MP3.
Now put the burned CD back in the PC and "Re"import it into iTunes so its imported in a MP3 format so you can use it in any program. Before importing it tho you need to manually add the name of the song, artist album ect ect -
Got new iTune update, instaled on my home server 2008 r2, as I had the previous versionon here. Now with the new Itunes my home sharring is not working when it use to work fine on the older version. However this works fine on my windows 7, Iam guessing the new Itune doesn't support Server ? Or is there some thing i need to do. Can Apple Help me ?

I've installed iTunes on my Windows Home Server and connected it to my AppleTV. To have it running 24/7 I need to log onto WHS run iTunes then exit without logging off. Is there any way to run iTunes as a Windows SERVICE ?

Iphone 5 S can't get sync with itunes installed on windows 2003 server SP2
After successfully installed itunes 11.1.5 for windows (i'm using windows 2003 server SP2 32bit). Whenever time I connect my iphone 5S to this computer, it always pops up an error message "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again"
After I uninstalled/reinstalled many times I got successful install iTunes software, but this still having problem with this error message. You face with this error, because of Trex installation package is trying to install native i386 redistributables (vcredist_x86.msi) during the process. In order to patch Trex system on x64 architecture, follow the instructions, below;
1) Start sapinst, under your <TREX_PATCH> path
2) Ignore AMD64 warning popup
3) When popup appears on the "1603:Fatal error during installation." error, change temp folders on both environment variables, on my computer
4) Download and execute "vcredist_x64.exe" then run installer
5) After respective installation click on "Retry" button on error popup
At the end of this operation, your Trex patch will be succeeded. Please do not forget to undo your temp directory settings, on your Trex host. I hope that it is clarify your question.

Hi community,
can someone please tell me how to successful install iTunes 10.5.2 on a Windows Home Server (based on Windows 2003)? The installation procedure quits with an error, saying that only Windows XP SP2 an later is supported. Installing and running version 10.5.0 was o.k.

Installing Itunes "Registering ITunes Automation Server"
When I attempt to install ITunes 7.3, I get an error saying: "Registering ITunes Automation Server." I've uninstalled my previous version of ITunes, restarted my machine, then re-downloaded the installer, but I get caught up in the same place. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hmmmmm.
I had luck with one of these the other day with the following procedure.
First, download and save a copy of the latest standalone QuickTime installer to your hard drive. (We'll run the install from there rather than "online".)
Latest Quicktime Installers … get the one that doesn’t mention iTunes
Now run the QuickTime install by doubleclicking the QuickTimeInstaller.exe file.
If that install goes through okay, reboot the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
(The idea here is that if your QuickTime is already fully up to date, the iTunes installer bundle will skip that part of the install when it runs. Sometimes if the iTunes installer has "less to do" like that, it can get us past the "Registering ITunes Automation Server" hang.) -
I was trying to upgrade to itunes 10.x on Windows 7 Pro. The installation stuck at the stage "Registering iTunes automation server". I removed the Antivirus software and re-install iTunes again. But still get same problem. Any solution?

Look out for "japiohelp".
In short:
a) press Windows key + "R", enter "cmd", and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter (= runs as admin)
b) enter "netsh winsock reset" and pres enter
c) reboot the computer

Cannot connect to Itunes server after installing Itunes 7.5
Help! After installing Itunes 7.5 I cannot connect to the Itunes store. I have a active internet connection but the error I get says the Network connection was refused. Anyone have any suggestions???
I finally uninstalled 7.5 and reinstalled 7.4.3.1. After the first attempt to connect to the iTunes store I got the same error. I tried a 2nd time to connect to the store and this time it connected.
7.5 is useless. -

an therefore I de-installed iTunes and Quick.Time from my Computer within the help from here

after all that, I cleaned up my registry with 'Registry Mechanics' and defraget it. After rebooting my Computer I had the hope to get no problems with the installation of the new iTunes .. well I had more than before, and I don't have any more ideas what i can do ... Plz help me

Installed ITunes 8 - entire music library lost - hangs if I try to add fold
I just installed iTunes 8 after having been prompted to do so.
When I first opened it the app started to render my album covers, and then stopped.
I was curious about the genius feature, so I enabled that, and it said it was active, but then nothing showed in my music library at all -- no covers, not a single track.
I tried re-adding the folder where I store my music, I get a processing message, but then it just hangs.
I ended the task, tried adding a single song -- that song added successfully, so I added one more -- also OK, and they could play. So I tried adding the whole folder again - hangs.
End task again.
Re-open - the songs I added manually aren't there anymore. Every time I add a song, it shows temporarily, then when I exit and go back in the whole list is erased again.
At the file system level the folder where it stores all the info about music is COMPLETELY EMPTY: \\server\users\myusername\my documents\my music\itunes\itunes music\
That folder used to have hundreds of folders and files? What the heck happened? Where are my files?
Is this a bug or just some weird issue on the x64 version of Vista that happens when you have my documents folder re-direction turned on? This wasn't a problem with v7.xCopying the old iTunes Library (from the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder) didn't work for me. iTunes went through its typical "Updating iTunes Library" routine the next time I launched, and any attempt to add a folder of files to my library still returns Error 13014.

My new computer is 64-bit running Windows 7 pro, SP1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit

Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer. Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro. I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty. Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup

thanks in anticipationI had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result). -

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
