Installing java patch on SPS 10

Hi,
I want to install java patch 01 to support package stack 10, from i can download it and what is the procedure to do this.
please help it's so urgent.

Hi,
You can download it from the service market place.
For java you can directly go to sp10 from sp01 you nedd not to apply 2,3,and so on. Once you download the *.sca files and the xml file just paste the files in the trans/eps/in directory and start the JSPM give ur sdm password and JSPM will take care of all the other things.

Applying JAVA patch (JSPM) in our newlyPI 7.1 installed server.

Dear expert,
we are trying to apply JAVA patch (JSPM) in our newlyPI 7.1 installed server. It is windows Server 64 bit with oracle.
We have downloaded the JSPM08_0-20001887.zip and pasted in ..../EPS/in. Then run the D:\usr\sap\PID\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\JSPM\go.bat and selected JSPM, but it shows nothing.
Even after unzipping JSPM08_0-20001887.zip it shows 3 folder BUILDARCHIVES, DEPLOYARCHIVES and META-INF and pasting in .../EPS/in it diddnot worked.
I have applied in Unix, as in unix we directly paste .SCA file into ../EPS/in and it works.
Here in windows i cluless, pl help us out.

JSPM08_0-20001887.zip
As you said in earlier reply that you have downloaded the zip format of JSPM file.
But , zip file is not supported by JSMP for deploying the patches.
It seems that you have selected the file from SAP marketplace and put into your download basket and then you have right click on the JSPM file on download basket and saved to the location , becuase of which the file format has been changed from .SCA to .ZIP.
The best option of downloading any file is to use SAP Download manager , it will download the file with exact SAP format i.e SCA.
Once you download the file using download manager in SCA format , then you will be able to apply patch succesfully using JSPM.

Installed the Java patch for MAC yesterday and immediately could not get adobe reader to show pdf files...have troubleshot and can't seem to remedy ...ideas?

I have used the Firefox troubleshooting guides, no good. The Java patch is enabled and shows when I check applications. However when I run Firefox plugins it still shows the java plug in is outdated and need to be updated immediately.

OK, I went to the Firefox knowledge base article you cited and followed the directions with the exception that in the drop down menu I choose Adobe Reader for PDF files rather than the plug in default that apparently was set by the Java patch. Problem solved !!!!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to get me back to the basic place I needed to be to correct this issue. YOU ROCK!!!!

JSPM Error while applying As Java Patch to PI 7.1

I am facing an issue when trying to patch new Pi 7.1 Ehp1 Java patch through JSPM
steps i did
. since the download manger is not working for us i click on the link and down load all the patches to windows machine ( Installed machine is AIX)
all the patches were downloded in SCA.zip " LMNWATOOLS04_0-20003137.SCA.zip" format which is not recognizable through JSPM
i rename all the file taking off zip extension "LMNWATOOLS04_0-20003137.SCA" , but now the initiating is working but it throws an error saying to revise all the selected patches?
" Error occured, while reading refactoring configuration from SDU file /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/ESREGBASIC04_0-20003135.SCA. java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: "
how can i deploy these patches comes with SCA.zip format ? i know only SCA can be deployed , but since i have downloaded them directly it converted to SCA.zip
please advice me how to resoleve this urgently

It is fine just to delete the .zip at the end. The issue has another reason.
Have you patched the JSPM before you applied the patches?

I have a simple BPEL process that calles an ESB flow deployed in the same server.
I am facing the following issue when trying to deploy the BPEL process.
The ESB flow is deployed and is working perfectly.

it seems you are trying to deploy example for B2B. Please check your B2B is up, AQ are up and accessible and you can also check your SOA dehydration DB .

So you are saying that this is a valid path specification in Windows? I did not know this. And I do not remember to ever have seen this before with Java.
Is there a reason why this "abbreviated" form is used in Java?
Has this changed recently, or did I simply never found it before?
Can this be behavior be changed to the complete path form? I like to call 'get[Absolute]Path()' in log messages and test cases, but want to see the complete path in such a case. I would like to avoid getCanonicalPath() in such cases, because this method declares an exception.

Help: Installing ODM patch 10.1.0.3.1 on Win 2K?

I am trying to install ODM patch 10.1.0.3.1 (ref 3978002 on metalink) on Oracle 10g RDBMS 10.1.0.3.0 on Windows 2K.
When I run the patch installation script dm10131_patch.bat, the script hangs and never completes.
I looked at the script and it appears that the following command within the patch10131.sql is hanging:
execute dbms_java.grant_permission(UPPER('DMSYS'),'SYS:java.io.FilePermission','dm/lib/odmapi.jar','read');
Any help on how to get this patch to install is greatly appreciated.

I've the same problems after installing 10.1.0.3-patch on my W2K-DB and then ODM 10.1.0.3.1.
There are several invalid objects in the sys-schema:

JSPM ERROR- cannot add JAVA patches to deploy queue via JSPM

Last two days I have deployed java patches(SP13 to SP18).......almost finished......i have to deploy 2 more components only but suddenly i got error.now i cannot add java patches to JSPM deployment queue. am getting error '/usr/sap/BWP/DVEBMGS10/j2ee/JSPM/log/log_2009_07_22_23_41_20/JSPM_MAIN_1_01.LOG.' I have checked trouble ticket log and i have followed Snote-1329945 and changed instace.properties files as instance.runmode=normal and just restarted java via SMICM only (server reboot is not possible in my environment)

Looks like the problem is above 1
Do the following. This should resolve the issues.
1. If your dialog instance are also having the Java stack then do one thing move your profile folder to some other name and create a new profile folder with the name "profile".
Copy only the central instance profiles Default, Instance and start profile.
Then give a try.
2. If you do not have the java instance in Dialog instance still do the same thing what I have described. move the current profile folder and create the new folder with the name "profile" and copy the profiles Default, Instance and start profile.
Chances are the JSPM is reading some other profile while starting the JSPM.

After installing Java 7 version 21 Safari no longer sees Java

The Computer is running 10.7.5 fully patched. After installing Java 7, version 21 from Oracle Java and VPN no longer work. Everything looks OK in the Oracle Java control panel and Safari does not have Java plug-ins disabled. Removing and reinstalling Java have not solved the problem. Ive also went to http://javatester.org/version.html done the Java tests. However it does not even show that the Java plug-in is active or for that matter inactive. Any idea's other then not to use Java that I must use for VPN and WebEx?

I have the same problem. Called apple today since this seems to be a problem with Safari. Apple wanted 63 USD to help me solve this. Been trying to figure it out for a couple of days now but no luck.

    But I want to revert back few components to the older version .Is it possible?

Hi,
doing an upgrade is a one way. About "revert back few components"
In theory you would start with SP13 and only install the SP22 version of what you want to upgrade, but: That's not a good idea. Depending on what you want to keep at SP13, SP22 won't work.

How do you install a patch file?

Hey all, this is going to sound very dumb, and I don't really know which forum this question fits into.
I've got a xxx.patch file to be installed for a project tht is written in Java, I am running Windows XP and am using Eclipse as my IDE. I've never in my life installed a patch file and there is no installation guide for the patch file at all. What exactly do I do to install it?

Not sure where to get a Window's port of patch program though.
Your project who released the patch should have more info on which orig file it's generated from and etc. If they used Subversion, I believe there is a subcommand you can use. Again you need to more info from where you get the patch.

What should be the level for Java package and JSPM should be applied. Can we apply level 17 or should ABAP and JAVA be of the same level??

Actually now my Java version and all java patches are on the level 19. But my IGS is on level 13. The highest level available is also only 16. So do i need to upgrade my IGS as it will require kernel upgrade or level 13 is ok?

i'm a java developer and new to OSX and recently, when i thought of running my java projects using eclipse in my MBP, one of my friend said that there was a backdoor exploit for MB, if i install it on my computer. So i need to know whether i can install eclipse ( need to install java in order to run the code) or should i make dual boot and install windows and then run my coding stuff? Which is safer acc to the security of the data?

Backdoor exploits IN THE WEB BROWSER verison, that have been pretty well patched if you are installing the security updates. Don't leave Java in the browser enabled unless you need it and you will be fine.
Do not Install Windows, with its swiss cheese of doors for malware, unless you are really into malware self-abuse.
and you will need to go to Oracle to get java for your version of Mac OS X.
