Installing java plugins on windows

i'm on a network that does not give me permission to c: system files, so I wanted to install the java libraries/plugins for my browser on H:\ , but after like 10 seconds of the install, it closes with an error just because it can't locate a file on the c:
how can I install it strictly to the folder that i have permissions on? please get back to me ASAP, i need java :]

this is a strictly system problem. talk to your system administrator and ask him to install plugins - they're harmless..

The plugins folder in the Firefox installation folder doesn't exist by default. There is no default plugin in Firefox 4, so that folder would be empty and in thus not included. If you want to use that location then you need to create a plugins folder.
Did you try /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins ?

How to install java plugin manually on windows

Some people can only run Firefox and Java without running installers, can only copy the directories from another machine to uncommon locations (permission issues).
I am trying to get the Java plugin working without relying on the installer's magic. I have JDK 1.6 installed with the private JRE or another public JRE. But I can't seem to get the system to actually run Java. I copied the file
npdeployJava1.dll
to the plugins directory, but this does not help. I copied
npjp2.dll
to the plugin directory, and now the system thinks it has applets (the applet replacement content doesn't get shown any more). But it doesn't actually run.
I also edited the profile files:
./extensions.ini:Extension2=C:\jdk16\jre\lib\deploy\jqs\ff
./pluginreg.dat:C:\jdk16\jre\bin\new_plugin\npdeployJava1.dl
./pluginreg.dat:C:\jdk16\jre\bin\new_plugin\npjp2.dll|$
But still nothing more happens. I copied the
extension/{CAFEE...}
folder into the extensions, but that just brings up that the Java console is there, it doesn't make Java run.
Also, the Java Control Panel hangs when I do anything like setting the plugin activation checkmarks and then OK. The control panel is then completely locked.

I recently had to install the Java Plugin.... Well, it took me about 20 minutes to get it right... I made some mistakes, like, copying another Lib files, or copying the lib files themselves and not links to them. I should say i am using Slackware 14.0. You get the orange Firefox menu button if the menu bar is hidden (View > Toolbars).<br />
On Linux the (gray) Firefox menu button will appear on the Tab bar and not instead of the title bar as on the Windows screenshot.

Cannot Install Java JDK on Windows 7 Home Premium

Hello all, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this question. I have an issue trying to install ANY JDK on Windows 7 Home Premium. When I run the install it throws an Error: 1722. I've tried looking around on Google but haven't found much. Has anyone else has this error?

I tried to install the windows7 64-bit jdk on my windows7 64-bit computer with 2 browsers, chrome and firefox. There was no difference between browsers. Then, I repeatedly installed and uninstalled many, many times, trying to figure out what was wrong.
After an easy install, I click on the jdk program to try to use it, and I get a pop-up saying something like, you have already installed this, do you want to install it again? That is all I get from the installed jdk program, there is nothing else the program will do, only give me that pop-up.
I then read and studied all the online info from all the java websites. Their website info does not mention this problem. Then I did all the you tube videos that deal with this problem. After watching a you tube video, I clicked start, and typed in cmd, and then typed javac; the message I am given is that javac is not recognized as a command.
Then, I tried to contact the java/oracle company many different ways, with chat and email, and got NO response; they are not addressing or responding to this situation in any way.
Last night, I contacted my computer company, and after speaking with them, they are saying they will go into my computer and make the necessary software changes to the windows 7 so that the java jdk will be properly working. Sounds great, but - they want to charge me a lot of $$MONEY. I got two price quotes, $80 and $89. It is not free, which is frustrating. The java download is free, but I do I have to pay to get it properly installed on my computer? Can anyone provide wise advise? Is there any way I can get it properly installed for free?
Also, someone mentioned that maybe my Norton Antivirus is preventing the proper jdk install, but I doubt it, since the norton antivirus has never before given me any problem.

If your phone vendor doesn't deliver a runtime with the phone or for download on their website, there is little chance you are going to get one.
There are a few third party runtimes you can Google for, but most if not all viable ones are not free.

Install Java plugin for IE without manual update or install

I have a client machine with JRE installed. Now i see the problem that java plugin is not installed in IE. Is there anyway i could manually register java plugin for IE without using installer or java update ? would it be possible to use command line argument or such alternative please let me know.

Problem installing Java EE 6 windows.

I have downloaded the Java EE 6 SDK windows installer. I find that
it progresses to about 40% or 75%, but then refuses to progress any further.
I have Windows 7 64 bit.
What do I do to find an installer for 64 bit Windows and 64 bit Linux that will finish installing?

I have run as administrator and found exactly this problem.
The User Interface for the EE 6 JDK is a bit buggy, but I have found that if I resize the lower edge of the window
on an off while it installs, I can successfully get through to 100%.
However, even then, I can't find where it puts javaee.jar v6.
Where does this file go? Is it now only included as a new version of a newer jar inside Glassfish 3, or not?
I just can't install Java EE 6, and have tried downloading the installer again with no success.
Could someone help?

Problem installing java plugin from jre 1.4.0 on netscape 4.79

We tried to install the newest java plugin on netscape
4.79 on our Solaris 2.8 machine. Followed the instruction, we first downloaded j2re-1_4_0-solsparc.sh, ran the script to create a
directory called j2re1.4.0, then set the NPX_PLUGIN_PATH environment variable to the directory
containing the javaplugin.so file. When we tried to
start netscape, we got the following error message:
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not load the function CreateOJIFactory
System error?:: No such file or directory

From your description, it seems you've read http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/install-solaris.html#plugin . This also states that the supported Netscape builds go up to 4.77 before moving on to Netscape 6.x. And in this case it appears that this isn't just because the documentation hasn't kept up with recent activity from Netscape. Netscape 4.79 appears to treat the plugin differently, and/or still expect the old Activator code to be in place to use it.
I'm using the 1.4.0 JRE with no trouble at all with Netscape 7.0PR1. If anything this - and the Mozilla 1.0RC2 build that it's based on - are far more stable than any of the NS4.x releases. The only reason I can see for staying with 4.x is that it'd little more lax with the HTML it reads, and displays some bad pages that NS6/7 refuses to display.
Recent Solaris releases come with Netscape 6 as well, and it's easily downloadable. I'm sorry I can't be more help than this.

Sequence of steps to install (Java + ABAP) on windows

Installing Java on a Windows Vista 64 bit OS - amd64 Turion X2

I do hope there is someone who has solved this issue. Spent several hours and multiple loads to no avail. Currently using a HP laptop with Windows 64 bit OS running. The processor is a AMD64 Tution X2. Java loads but no entry in Internet Options advanced settings or an icon in the Control Panel. When I execute the application which requires Java nothing happens.
I am at a loss of what to do next.

I realize this is an old post so this may no longer have any relavance.
Make sure you have downloaded and installed the 64 bit version. The 32 bit will install on the 64 bit machine and will not appear in the standard control panel. If you look at your control panel, look to the bottom of the list for the icon labeled "View 32-bit Control Panel". If you installed the 32 bit version, the java instance will be there.
You can install both the 32 and 64 bit versions on the same machine. Remember most installs to a 64 bit machine will put DLL's and the like into the system32 folder for 64 bit apps and into the syswow64 folder for 32 bit apps.

I am new to Java EE and am having difficulty installing it. I am running Windows XP and was wondering if there's a step-by-step guide that covers which files I need to download and install in order to develop Java EE applications.
Any help is appreciated

For most apps, all that's needed is J2SE JDK and J2EE SDK. Other packages may be required depending on what you're wanting to do.
I suggest that your study some J2EE tutorials for further information.
