Installing LabPython LabView 2010

Has anyone successfully installed LabPython on LabView 2010?
I attempted to install the .ogp package using VI Package Manager, and ran into a missing dependency
ogrsc_dynamicpalette >= 2.0.
I followed the example on,
http://forums.openg.org/index.php?showtopic=1121
editing the .ogp package to change the 2.0 to 0.1, as indicated.
However, upon installation, the VI Package Manager claims that the package is not compatible with the current LabView version.

Shultz,
I read your posts in that other thread, but still don't understand how you solved the problem (I'm having the same one).
How exactly did you " install orgs_dynamicpalette using VIPM"? Is there a separate package you have to install just for that?
A quick google hasn't found one.
Some people have suggested unzipping the .ogp, editing spec to say >=0.1 on the orgs_dynamicpalette line, rather than
2.0 and then re-zipping the folder and saving as an .ogp. For them it seems to work, but for me VIPM complains that the
result isn't compatible with anything at all.

  • Cannot install fully LabVIEW 2010 on WinXP SP3

    Hello,
I have tried numerous time today to install the NI Developer Suite 2010 using install discs. I have catalogged all of the items that did not install. LV 2010 does work but I am not sure if everything works. Here are the items and the order in which I was not able to install them:
"Critical Issues when using National instruments Drivers with Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2010 resolved by NI-PAL 2.6.5" - I successfully installed this but the message always comes up and gives me a "Are you sure you want to proceed" type message when I try to keep installing

Any idea if I need these applications to run LV 2010?

It sounds like there may be something strange going on with your .NET framework that is causing this driver conflict.  Try uninstalling your current .NET framework as well as LabVIEW (from add/remove programs) and re-installing from the Microsoft .NET Framework page followed by a fresh LabVIEW install.
A couple other things to note:
Make sure that you have all of your anti-virus software/ firewalls turned off while trying to install LabVIEW.  We've seen this install error caused by that before.
Also, make sure that you're installing your drivers after your LabVIEW installation.

  • Labview 2010 run-time engine silent install

I am having trouble with installing the run-time engine for LabVIEW 2010 with the silent option.
I am using the minimum version of the run-time engine.
Before I used the LV7 run-time engine. Then I could install it silently using LVRunTimeEng.exe /qb!
In LabVIEW 2010 the run-time engine is no longer a single file but a directory that contains the installation files. There are two files that can be used to launch the installer Setup.exe and LV2010runtime.msi.
Setup.exe does not seem to accept any command-line arguments. LV2010runtime.msi however accepts the command-line arguments and can be installed silently.
Now my problem is that I am building a windows installer using a third party application and it is only possible to launch exe files after the installation completes. Before I could launch the LVRunTimeEng.exe /qb! to install the labview 7 run-time engine but now when I have upgraded to labview 2010 I cannot do the same for Setup.exe.
My question is if it is possible to use the Setup.exe file to install the Labview 2010 run-time engine (minumum) silently?

Setup.exe runs a number of other .exe files during its execution.  This article looks like it will allow you to run setup.exe silently by supressing all messages and windows:

  • Labview 2010 randomly restarts computer - windows event viewer points to nap agent

When running my current VI that I am working on, the computer will ranomly reboot. There is no freeze, or blue screen, just a reboot. When examining the windows event viewer after the reboot, the following warning is listed immediately preceding the reboot:
    Event ID 39
The Network Access Protection Agent was unable to determine which HRAs to request a health certificate from.
A network change or if GP is configured, a configuration change will prompt further attempts to acquire a health certificate. Otherwise no further attempts will be made.
Contact the HRA administrator for more information.
Previous to getting this warning before a reboot, I was getting the following error:
    Event ID 10016
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {24FF4FDC-1D9F-4195-8C79-0DA39248FF48}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18).  This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
This is a DCOM service eror and the CLSID is referring to NAPAGENT. So I configured DCOM to allow the NAPAGENT to start and now I get the Event ID 39 warning and still get the reboot.
I am not sure why labview is even asking for DCOM or NAPAGENT to start at all. My VI is simply reading information from two serial instruments.
This reboot behavior does not occur when the computer is not running labview.
I am attaching a copy of the main VI, if it will be helpful I can post the sub VI's as well.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Joe,
    Thanks for the reply.
I am running windows XP pro service pack 3.
I am running a standard instal of labview 2010 with the latest VISA drivers, no other modules or options installed.
I am only reading and writing to the serial ports (com) in my code. I don't believe that virus/spyware/malware is to blame for several reasons.
    1. This only occurs when running this VI in labview.
    2. I have replicated this problem on another computer.
    3. I am behind a government (DOE) firewall and virus scans and checks are performed constantly.
    4. If I take out the serial portion of my code via a T/F case structure, it will not crash.
The code will run fine for sevetral hours sometimes and then crash, other times it will crash after only a few minutes.
Please let me know what other information you require.
    Thanks!

  • LabView 2010 - CVI Driver Import Wizard

I have previously downloaded and used the driver import wizard to create LabView VIs from a CVI driver. Specifically with Labview 8.x and 2009.
However the latest version of the wizard (v1.3) will not install with LabView 2010 and there isn't a newer one to download w- So the question is, does anyone know if there is an intention to update this wizard so I can use it with LV 2010 ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I am having the same problem. Please let me know if this has been resolved yet.
I tried copying the following directories to labview 2010:
    from     C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\resource\CVIFpConv
    to          C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2010\resource\CVIFpConv
    and
    from     C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\project\_DriverCtoLV
    to         C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2010\project\_DriverCtoLV
and the wizard loads and runs until I specify a .fp file and then I get the error in the jpeg attached. When I try to open the block diagram (FC_RFL_Initialize.vi), it says you need a password to view it, so that stops my debugging.

  • Labview 2010 SP1 - How to install just the labVIEW and remote panel

    Hi all
I am currently using a licensed version of LabVIEW 2010 SP1. It came up with 6 to 7 DVD’s each of them containing around 5 GB of data. Installing all these stuffs eats up around 30 GB of ma C drive.
My project just deals with 2 EPOS controllers controlling 2 of maxon EC motors and these 2 EPOS controllers are communicating via USB port with the client PC. This client PC have to be monitored and controlled remotely by host PC containing the same LabVIEW version.
To do this, do I have to install all of these 7 DVD’s or just enough to download the “LabVIEW for education 2010 SP1” from the NI website, available in the below link “http://search.ni.com/nisearch/app/main/p/ap/tech/lang/en/pg/1/sn/n8:28,ssnavdl/”
    Awaiting for your reply  friends.

  • LabVIEW 2010 thinks it is already installed thus preventing me from installing it

I had 2010 installed before, then a terrible problem with file corruption damaged the installation and now I need to reinstall it.
Problem is that no NI installs appear on 'Add/Remove programs' so I cannot 'repair' or 'remove'.  Also when I install from the DVD it thinks 2010 is already installed and just shows 'Currently installing LabVIEW 2010 (English) for a second' and then reports 'No software installed or removed'.
I've even tried deleting the National Instruments folder from Program Files but this did not help.
Any ideas on how I can force a reinstall - maybe I need to modify something in the registry?

All NI Software is listed as a single entry called 'National Instruments' in the add/remove programs.
If that is not available, I would try to run msiblast (see here)

  • "LabVIEW 2010 Not Detected" shown when I install VBAI Development Toolkit

I have installed the following products:
    (1) LabView 2011
    (2) VDM 2011 SP1
When I wish to install VBAI 2011 SP1 with enabling "Development Toolkit", the error message prohibits me to continue the installation.
According to documentation "NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection Development Toolkit Tutorial", I need this toolkit in order to create custom steps.
Some expert please guide me on this.
    My products installed:

The error message is correct. The VBAI 2011 SP1 requires LabVIEW 2010 to be installed.
Vision Builder 2011 SP1 is a LabVIEW application that was build using LabVIEW 2010 and uses the LabVIEW 2010 runtime engine.
For people who would like to develop custom steps on Windows only, we could potentially come up with technical solutions, which would allow to use newer versions of LabVIEW (because LabVIEW installs side by side on Windows). However, Real-time targets like smart cameras and embedded vision system do not support side by side install of LabVIEW. For this reason, we decided to require the use of LabVIEW 2010 to develop custom steps.

That appears to be a problem with your .NET installation, not LabVIEW. I'd suggest repairing or reinstalling your .NET framework.

  • Labview 2010 SP1 silent install

    Hello,
I have a student version of Labview 2010 SP1. I have located an article on how to perform a silent install using v2008 (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/AA2371E815A418DD86257169005F2D99?OpenDocument). I was wondering if anyone had a 'spec file' or silent install file for 2010 SP1? If not has anyone tried creating a .MSI using WinInstall?
We are trying to push it out using Group policy to one of our small teaching labs. I was going to create a startup batch to accomplish this.
    Thank you
    ZoeTaite

OK...after some reading I see you can generate a 'spec file' that will help with the silent installation of the Labview 2010 SP1 software via group policy. Is there a way to to modify the nisuite.xml to automatically register the software? Like I mentioned we are pusing this out to a student lab and I don't want to provide the SN (even though it comes up when you launch it).

  • LabVIEW 2010 will not install on Win XP SP3

I have made several attempts to install LabVIEW 2010 on Win XP SP3. I already have LabVIEW 2009 installed and working.
For each attempt I accept the default install options and do not put in a serial number. The first attempt got stuck at 2% complete and did not change for 30 minutes. No error messages. I cancelled the install and tried the install again from setup.exe.
The next two attempts stall at 0% blinking forever. The 4th attempt made it to 18% before it stalled for more than 30 minutes. The next two attempts stalled at 0% repeating and would not cancel. I had to terminate them with Task Manager.
Why won't LabVIEW 2010 install without stalling before than 30 minutes? Why does it not spit out an error message instead of just stalling? How do I know why it won't install?  How do I fix it?
    Solved!

I had the same problem. The 2010 install was very slow on my XP SP3  PC. I do not why, but it took very very long time to get past 2% of the setup. But then the install process speeded up. So just let the computer take the time that is needed. It will eventually install. I used the trail version download from NI

    Hello,
The first step I reccomend you try is to re-download the LabVIEW installer, and try to run it again.  Also, make sure you have Administrator access on your computer.

I tried another machine, 64 bit of course, as I want to deploy my application on a 64bit PC, but still got the same problem.
This other machine was from HP, iCore 3 (4 CPUs) 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM and running Windows Professional 64 bit.
Now as I see it, it could be a Run-time environment mis-match error.
For this I tried installing a 64 bit LVRTE from NI, but still no sucess.
I checked DEP, for all 3 PCs and it was set to the following
Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only (first option).
I am confused. I can not find a solution for this and it is really frustrating.

But I am assuming that when I make the installer, the 32-bit Run Time Engine is appened with the installer, as show below
Since from the picture you can see its including the support installers from '\Program Files (x86)\'
The application runs queries to fetch data from database in SQL server 2008, and for that I am using a Microsoft SQL Native Client 2008 R2 64 bit ( this is the only version that installs on either PC, even the one on which I developed my LV Application).
I am not using any driver, only toolkits for reports - and for that I un-checked the "Remove unused polymorphic VI instances" when making the executable, otherwise LV throws up an exception that share variable are not being included.
Yes I did reboot every time after I ran the installation.
    Still getting the same error.
