Installing lightbox 4 without CD drive

I have been given Lightbox 4 in CD format as a gift. My notebook doesnt have a cd drive so how do I install and run my software?

You can copy the content on the USB drive and then put it on the computer ,
also you download the software from the Adobe.com website as the trial and then serialize it with the Serial Number on the CD case.

Hello, your English is actually quite good!
I think I'd find a way to make an ISO out of it, which should be supported, & the reverse of this...

  • Panther Install on G3 without DVD Drive

I just sucessfully upgraded my Beige G3 from Jaguar to Panther with DVD's. I have another G3 desktop with the original CD Rom Drive that is running Jaguar that I would also like to upgrade to Panther. Is it possible to install Panther perhaps using an external firewire drive that has the Install DVD copied to it? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated?

    Hello David,
Panther never came on DVD's it was a CD Installation only. The only way they could be DVD's is if it is a bootleg copy made by someone. And, how did you put Panther on a Beige without the use of XPostFacto? If you can explain that, please do so.
And Texas is right, legally, you can only have Panther on one Mac. Every mac you put Panther on will require registering the software, so Apple will know if you are using a single user version on more than one mac.
If you want to put Panther on more than one Mac, you will need to PURCHASE a Full Retail Version of the multi-lisencing OS. Which BTW, you can no longer purchase from the Apple Store. You'll need to look at sites like

  • Help installing Snow Leopard without DVD drive

    Hi all,
I've seen this question posted before but the solutions are not working for me.
I have a MacBook Pro running 10.4.11.  I bought the 10.6.3 Snow Leopard Install DVD from Apple but my DVD reader just keeps ejecting it, lens must have died.
My roomate has a Windows 7 laptop, and I see here that I can put my DVD into his DVD player, and remote it over our wireless and install it to my laptop.
I've run through the instructions but I can't see Remote Disc under the Mac's finder.
I've made sure to run the following commands in my Mac console too but no luck:
defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser EnableODiskBrowsing -bool true
defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser ODSSupported -bool true
Is it possible to even do a remote install via one Windows 7 Laptop and my MacBook Pro with no optical drive?  Do I have some other kind of options to get this upgrade working?
Any and all help will be appreciated!

    Hi all,
I posted this question under MacBook Pro but didn't get much help.

I found another article with similar instructions that included some console code.  I've made sure to run the following commands in my Mac console too but no luck:
defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser EnableODiskBrowsing -bool true
defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser ODSSupported -bool true

That's actally a pretty good and cost effective way to do it.  I see some from Walmart for like $30, and it's possible to refund them if it doesn't work.
    Thank you

  • Need help in installing Snow Leopard without DVD drive

    Hi,
I have a White Macbook 2008 model with 2.1 ghz processor and 1 GB Ram. The dvd rom is not working in my machine. It spits out the dvd's 99 out of 100 times.
I need to upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6. Apple has sent me a single disk to install snow leopard.
I am not willing to invest in new dvd drive either internal or external. Needed help on ways to install snow leopard please apart from using the dvd option.
I do have a Firewire 400 cable but i do not know anybody anymore who has a mac machine with 400 port.
Hence the cable is also useless and i cannot connect to anyother macbook and do the install using their drive.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Rahul

There are no direct options. Find a friend with a Mac that has a working optical drive. Buy an 8GB USB flash drive. Partition and format it for the Mac then clone the mounted DVD to the flash drive. Take it back to your computer and boot from the flash drive.
    Boot Using OPTION key:
      1. Restart the computer.
      2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the
          "OPTION" key.
      3. Release the key when the boot manager appears.
      4. Select the disk icon for the flash drive.
      5. Click on the arrow button below the icon.

  • NB100 - How to install Windows 7 without CD drive

Hi. I wondering if some one knows how to install Windows 7 whit out a CD player.
    I have an external HDD.
Is it posibel to do a image on that one to boot from?

I'm typing this on an NB100 (Upgraded to 2GB of RAM) running Windows 7 RC .
Make sure to update your BIOS to the latest version (1.9 I think) and then you can mount the Windows 7 .iso as a virtual drive using Daemon Tools in XP and run it and do a clean install.
Windows 7 will back up all your documents, music, videos etc in a folder called Windows.old and it will find all the new drivers you need all by itself (at least it did for me). If I remember correctly the only one I had to install again was the Bluetooth Stack.
All the Toshiba drivers and manuals etc will still be on your hard drive too, I think they're all stored on a small separate partition, which I think is pretty neat.
It took me a while cus I did as much research and reading up as I could beforehand but in the end it was really easy. Shouldn't take you more than an hour really.
Windows 7 is also running pretty damn well too. The only problem I have is that sometimes the taskbar disappears after the screensaver has been running, but a friend of mine is having the same problem on his Samsung netbook.

  • Install Windows 7 without optical drive

    Can someone assist please?
The hard drive went in my x100e however I've received a replacement under warranty.
I now need to install windows 7 onto it using supplied recovery media (DVD).
I have an external optical drive however the x100e doesn't recognise it at boot (BIOS is setup correctly and the optical drive works otherwise)..
I therefore need some other way to install windows 7 onto my new drive. Any suggestions please?
My other PC only has XP on it so I can't go the diskpart route (that only works with Vista or 7).
I have an external USB drive - however that contains backups of all my data on it so I can't use that.
I have a 4Gb USB pendrive however can't find any way to make that bootable with Windows 7 recovery on it.
    Help!
    Thanks,
    Jeddy

  • Install on PowerMac without DVD drive

I have an older PowerMac G4 here with a CD drive only, but all of my Tiger disks (upgrade and retail install) are on DVD's. Since I have a software title that will not work on Panther, I have to get this machine installed with Tiger..
So, short of buying an external DVD drive, is there any way to install this using a network connection? I have a Powerbook that I could use to share out the DVD drive on, but will it install over a share like that? Can I copy the entire Upgrade DVD contents onto this PowerMac and install from there?
    Any ideas appreciated...
    Thanks,
    peter

It's Apple's $10 program to exchange DVDs for CDs.
    See
    http://images.apple.com/macosx/pdf/tigermediaexchangev
    3.pdf for the certificate.
Well I did not know about needing a DVD player for this Tiger upgrade till I got it today with FedEx.
I read the board and the media exchange program, I wish it was posted in a better place on the store area.

  • Retail CS6 install on iMac without optical drive.

Just bought a new iMac and of course it has no optical drive. I also purchased a retail copy of CS6, but it hasn't arrived yet. Can I download CS6 and then just use the product key that comes in the retail box to activate it...or will I have to install the software via an optical drive (which I will also have to purchase)? Thanks.

Lotekschmotek please see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 for information on how to download the software.  Also you can copy the files to a USB drive on a computer which does have an optical drive.  You can then use the USB drive to install the software on the new computer.  You may also want to consider getting an external optical drive in case you have a need to install other software or read other optical media in the future.
