Installing Lightroom on multiple laptops?

When I install lightroom 5 Full version on my laptop, and my laptop breaks down. Can I install it again on a new laptop or is it only possible to install it once? My laptop is not working 100 percent, and I’m not sure how long it will be working.

No. Adobe permits usage on separate machines, but only for yourself and only one at a time.

  • How do I install Lightroom on a laptop without buying it again ?

I purchased and downloaded the update to Lightroom 5 onto my desktop about 6 months ago. Now I wish to buy a laptop.
How do I install Lightroom on the laptop without buying it again ??

The same way you did the first time. Download the trial version, install it, activate it with the serial number that you have now. The license entitles you to two installations, but for your own personal use.

  • Installing lightroom upgrade on laptop

I have purchased an upgrade to Lightroom 4 and want to install it on my laptop but the CD drive isn't working.  How can I download an upgrade?  I have the serial number.

Download the trial version and activate it with your serial number.

  • How do i install lightroom on multiple macs

I have a macbook pro and a iMac desktop and i am trying to install lightroom on my iMac after it has already been installed on my macbook....so how do i do this

Your Lightroom License Key/ or Subscription to Creative Cloud can be installed on two computers Mac and or PC with to provision that only one is in use at any point in time.
If you have the License Key you just download and install then use the key to activate. The Subscription model has to be downloaded via the Adobe Creative Cloud Application Manager.

  • Am I allowed to install Lightroom on multiple PCs?

I purchased the student's edition of Lightroom 4 for my (Win7) computer at home. I'm working often at the university and now I would like to know whether I am allowed or not to install Lightroom on my (Win7) notebook with the same license key as on the desktop?
If it's legal, I would wonder, if there are differences in the licenses for Windows and Mac OS, because I'm thinking about buying a Mac notebook.
Thanks in advance and best regards.

Technically LR can be loaded onto both a Windows and Mac system using the same serial number, since it does not require activation. The primary stipulation is that you cannot use the program simultaneously on two systems.
    LR 4 EULA:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/pdfs/gen_wwcombined-en_us-20120119_1426.pdf
Sec 2.1.3 Portable or Home Computer Use. Subject to the restrictions set forth in Section 2.1.4, the primary user of the Computer on which the Software is installed under Section 2.1 ("Primary User") may install a second copy of the Software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable Computer or a Computer located at his or her home, provided that the Software on the portable or home Computer is not used at the same time as the Software on the primary Computer.
I'm not an attorney, but I see no restrictions anywhere in the LR4 specific EULA that apply to your usage.

  • Installing Lightroom on my Laptop as well as my main computer. Mac.

Is this possible with the one Serial number, as it is with Photohop CS2 ? Or do you need another serial number ?

And now a second newbie question. I have downloaded the additional content and booted up logic for the first time, but the apple loops have not installed and logic is asking me to reinstall the apple loops. But how do I do that? I can see they are in the libray so have downloaded.
    Thanks

  • Help!! how to install lightroom without  D V D DRIVE?

    ? how do i install lightroom on my laptop that doesn't have a d v d drive ?

    Download it.
The trial version (same as the real one) is https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_lightroom&promoid&promoid=D TEML or another link for PC version here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5521 or Mac version here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5520
Or if those links are wrong just Google "download Lightroom".  As I say, I'm sure the trial version is the same as the purchase one.

  • I currently have an old laptop and am thinking of upgrading to a new laptop in the near future, but I want to install lightroom anyways. Is it possible to download it on my current machine and still download it on my new laptop in the future?

i currently have an old laptop with the intention of upgrading soonish. I would like to go ahead and download lightroom but am worried when i get the new machine it wont transfer over. Is it possible to put lightroom on multiple computers from the same one purchase?

A single Lightroom license entitles you to two installations but for your personal use. There is no activation process for Lightroom, so you can simply uninstall from a computer you are no longer using and have it installed on two computers that you use. There are things to be aware of if you are going to move all of your work to a new computer. The following link will probably be of help to you.

  • I have just installed Lightroom 5-7 on my new PC laptop but none of the photos I am working on are there, what do I do to get them from my old laptop also a PC

    Hi
I just bought a new PC laptop and installed Lightroom 5.7 on the new one but none of the photos that are in Lightroom on my old PC computer are on the new one.
I have several photos that I am working on in the old computer which is dying and not very reliable any more.
How do I find the photos on my old computer and get them into Lightroom on my new computer?

You would need the catalog and the images from the old computer if you want your work that you have done previously. You will have to copy the images and the catalog from your old computer to the new one. Don't you know where you imported images to?

  • Lightroom 5 installed twice on my laptop

I just purchased Lightroom 5, as part of the Photoshop Photographers Program, and installed it on my laptop. After completeing the installation, I noticed that it shows up twice in 'Control Panel > Programs and Features'. It shows up at the top of list as follows:
    Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.2 64-bit     Adobe     9/18/2013     969MB     5.2.1
and then further down the list as:
    Lightroom 5            Adobe Systems Incorporated     9/18/2013     811MB     5.2
The process I followed is as follows:
    1. I installed Lightroom 5.2 through the Creative Cloud App.
    2. I uninstalled Lightroom 4.4 (4.4 was already installed on the laptop) through 'Programs and Features'.
    3. After the uninstall was successfully I noticed the second listing of Lightroom 5 on the 'Program and Features' list. It may have been there prior to uninstall; I wasn't looking at the list that closely.
    System info:
    Dell M4600 Workstation
    Windows 7 64-bit
I have never seen this happen before. Can I uninstall one of them? Do I need to uninstall both and start from scratch? What effect would that have on my preferences and LR5 catalog?
    Please help!

UPDATE 1:  I uninstalled both of the copies of Lightroom I posted about earlier and reinstalled the software.  To my surprise it did the same thing - populating the 'programs and features' list with what appears to be two copies of the same version - as I described above.
I don't know if this is normal; it may be. I'd love to hear whether others have experienced the same thing or if their version of Lightroom 5.2 installed the same way.

  • I recently purchased a new laptop to replace my current one on which I use lightroom. I am also getting a new desktop this month and would like to install lightroom on both of my new computers (i will no longer need it on the old laptop). Can I do this wi

I understand I can use lightroom on up to two computers as long as I am not running them at the same time. My question is, can I uninstall it from my current laptop and install it on two new computers?

Yes, you can do that. To be in compliance with the Lightroom license, it needs to be installed on only two computers. But there is no activation/deactivation process for Lightroom. So it will be fine for you to install Lightroom 5 on both of your new computers. This document might help you in making the move:

  • I just installed lightroom 5, 3 weeks later my computer crashed, I know I can move files but how about the license? I also installed a second copy on a laptop that I used for class

I also installed a second copy on a laptop that I used for class

There is no activation process like there is with Photoshop. So you can just go ahead and install Lightroom again on your new or rebuilt computer.
