Installing Lion on more than one computer

Does anyone know how to install the Lion OS on more than one computer?  I downloaded and installed Lion on my iMac today, but want to do the same for my other two computers as well.  Is there a way to find the DMG file and save it onto a flash drive instead of downloading it all over again?  I searched using Spotlight and could not find the downloaded file anywhere.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

If the iMac was already updated, then the installer is no longer on the computer.
The easiest way to do this on your other Macs is to sign in to the Mac App Store using the same Apple ID as on the iMac, find Lion and click "INSTALL." You will not be charged again.

How do I install Lion on more than one Mac?  As I have a MacBook Pro and a iMac?

Purchase Lion on one of the machines.
Log in to the MAS with the other machine, using the same Apple ID you originally bought Lion with. Go to the Purchased Tab and Lion should be available for download. It should say Install.
It's possible that you will be asked for credit information as a form of verifying who you are.

    Amy and All,
This is one of those occasions where the letter of the law is an animal like a donkey!
(I can't use the correct quote because the equally stupid decency censor thinks I am swearing!)
You can use FCE on both computers so long as you uninstall it from the one you are not using at the moment!!!!
Obviously the rule is really intended to stop TWO PEOPLE using the program as you can legally use it on as many computers as you want provided you uninstall it first.
I think that Apple should reword it something like this:-
"You may install the program on more than one computer provided that you are the sole user of those computers".
When you see the blatant piracy that occurs on eBay etc. it makes a mockery of this particular rule.

  • Can you install itunes on more than one computer?

    Hi all,
I want to install the software for my first-generation ipod mini on my friend's computer, but I heard somewhere that you can only install the software on one computer and obviously I also want to be able to use it with my own computer as well. Can you install itunes software that comes with your ipod mini on as many computers as you want or only one?
    Many thanks,
    Samantha

Sure you can. But instead of using the (more than likely) outdated CD, see the iTunes Download Page

  • Can I install photoshop on more than one computer?

I just purchased a new Mac and downloaded CS6, which I purchased in July of 2013 and installed on my old PC.  After the install when I tried to enter my serial #, it told me it was invalid.  Is this because I can only install it on one computer or am I doing something else wrong?  I was under the unstinting that once I purchased it I could install it on all of future computers/devices.

If you see a red x, you may have gotten a number in the serial number incorrect or you could be using a number meant for Windows or a different language.
If as I suspect, you bought a Windows version, then the serial number will not work on a Mac.
Fortunately you can apply for Platform swap free of charge. Order product | Platform, language swap

You don't need to install the software
Sorry Jeff. She asked "Can you install itunes software that comes with your ipod mini on as many computers as you want or only one?"
You HAVE to install the software (iTunes) in order to run it.
Yes, you can install iTunes on as many computers as you want. You do not need to use the software CD that came with the iPod. Probably outdated anyway.
You can download iTunes from www.itunes.com

The license agreement permits the program to be installed on two computers with one in use at any point in time. It is also cross platform Mac or Win PC.
There is no activate/ deactivate process as applys to Photoshop CS or Photoshop Elements.

  • How do I install Lion on more than one family computer?

Q: What is the best way to load Lion on to multiple family computers? We have 2 iMacs, one Mac mini and one Mac Book Pro. I downloaded Lion to the newest iMac but now I need to bring my other machines into line preparing for Mountain Lion.

    Hi..
You can re download Lion on all your authorized Macs using the same Apple ID for free.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps (Lion in this case) you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.

  • Am I allowed to install flash on more than one computer?

I have the student edition of adobe flash cs3 and I currently have it installed on my desktop. I was wondering if it is legal to also install it on my labtop. It is for personal use, I don't know if that changes anything. I'm sure this is somewhere on the adobe site, but I can't seem to find it. Any help will be appreciated!

I've never worked with a student edition but, the full version will allow you to have two installations running at any given time. You can also deactivate one installation and activate another. This is the usual method for moving any given copy from an old computer to the new. There is probably more information in the End User License Agreement on the installlation disc.

  • Installing FCS on more than one computer

Guys, I bought my Final Cut Studio 3 years ago and installed it onto my Power Mac G5.
But now I'm considering getting a Mac Book Pro in addtion to my G5. Will I be able to install my current Final Cut Studio onto the MBP aswell?

You'll find the answer in detail in the FCS Software License Agreement that is packed in the FCS box along with the disks and manuals.
In short, you can have FCS installed on one desktop and one laptop as long as you are the owner of both.

  • Can I download Lion onto more than one computer?

I have an iMac and a MacBook Pro.  If I purchase a Lion upgrade and download it via the internet to my iMac do I have to purchase a second download for my MacBook Pro??  Or, would I be better off buying a Lion CD and using it to upgrade both of my computers to Lion??

Nope. All you have to do is make a bootable Lion instal disc/drive. You just need a Flask Drive. Here's the link I used to do it.

    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
PowerMac G4s never were 15". Don't you mean Powerbook G4 15"? If you mean Powerbook G4 15" and it came with Tiger, then the answer is no, as my FAQ explains:
    http://www.macmaps.com/upgradefaq.html#SYSTEMSPECIFIC
If you mean a PowerMac G4 with a 15" Apple LCD, it may have come with an older operating system. Use the articles I link to on:
    http://www.macmaps.com/macosxnative.html#IDENTIFY
    to identify your Mac.
    And use
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25517
to determine which operating system came with that Mac.
If both machines came with pre-Mac OS X 10.4, they can use a Mac OS X 10.4 Family pack if they meet specs for the installation.
