Installing Live Office - KB907417

Hi,
Hope this is the right forum for my question, if not please redirect.
Currently I am installing Live Office (3.1), when installing Live Office, it aborts and asks for microsoft office 2003 KB907417.
But I am working with microsoft office 2007!!!
I have tried to install the KB907417 but then the system says "the expected version is not found on the system"
Anyone ideas?

This may be because Microsoft Office is not installed in the default location of C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12. If you installed Office in some other location, another drive on the server for example, you need to update the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\InstallRoot
The default value is C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12. Change this to where you have Office installed.
This resolution worked with LiveOffice BI4.1 Support Pack 2.

I am having BOXIR2+SP3,Live Office XIR2, and Windows XP SP3 in my Laptop.
Ram-1.5 GB
After installing Live Office , MS Excel crashes.
The Issue is happening on only one machine and is intermittent.
Tried uninstalling Live Office>Excel
Install Excel>Live Office.
Didn't work.
Can anyone help me with this issue urgently?

what is the workflow for the excel to crash ?
Did you try to clear the registries after uninstalling?
Is Win XP SP3 the office version you are using?

BO Live Office - Excel files no longer opening

Hi all,
I've been running into a problem and only encountered it when installing BO Live Office. On my old computer, I used to be able to click on an Excel file that was on my desktop, for example, and then Excel would automatically open up and open the file. Then when I downloaded Live Office, I was no longer able to do this. Now everytime I click on an Excel file (no matter where it is located), I keep getting an error. Excel opens, but it tells me "There was a problem sending the command to the program."
At first I thought it was just my computer messing up and or something else was going wrong, but now I'm not so sure. I just recently got a new computer and I tried out opening an Excel file (from my desktop, for example) and it worked. Then I went and installed Live Office with the latest FixPack, etc. Once I installed it, it would no longer let me open an Excel File by clicking on the file. I keep getting the same error - "There was a problem sending the command to the program."
On my old computer, I had Office 2003 w/Windows XP and now I have Office 2007 w/Windows 7. It doesn't seem to matter if I have the latest software or upgrades/fixpacks. This error still occurs. I've tried turning off/disabling the Live Office Plug-in, but this has not worked either. Has anyone run into this problem before? I'm not sure how to go about fixing it. Any help would be appreciated.

I also had the same issue (from couple of months) after we upgraded and it was very very frustating until I saw this post.

I added "%1" at the end in the field labeled u2018Application used to perform action:u2019
"......\Microsoft Office\Office12\EXCEL.EXE" "%1" /e
The excel files are now opening. But there is also a message along with it. It says as below.

It's odd that the file is opening fine even though the above message shows up. This happens to every .XLS and .XLSX file. Atleast the file is opening now, which is great!
I am not sure how to fix the warning message.
Any help is appreciated.

Live Office Document not opening in Excel

I have installed Live Office and I can connect to my CMS and my reports are visible. When I try and import one it goes through several dialogs of "Importing Report" and "Updating Data" but then it just returns to the Select Report screen and never actually OPENS the report. It feels to me like a display/control permission thing... but I have completely disabled my Symantec Firewall and I still have the same problem Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

check the Enterprise Tab
use specified Login Criteria
check the web service URL

Live Office 3.1 on Websphere 6.1

We are having some difficulty installing live office on websphere 6.1
On the same machine we have successfully ran live office on tomcat, however when we switch to websphere on the same machine it does not work.
The error message we get when we use the URL - http://localhost/dswsbobje/services/session is:
"Please enable REST support in WEB-INF/conf/axis2.xml and WEB-INF/web.xml"
We have made no change to the defaults deployed.
Any ideas anybody???

Live Office -Webservice url validation KO

Hi All,
I have installed Live office on my laptop, and logon the MS office applications, I can see the Live office option on menu bar.
I have opened MS Excel. when I set webservcie URL.
The web service url is :
" http://myserver:8080/dswsbobje/services/session"
It shows "Validation failed".
How I can understand why doesn't works fine validation. Wich are the steps to verify right "LiveOffice" configuration on "Server/Client" side ?
P.S:

I just find the solution, the connection beetwen Liveoffice and Business Objects XI 31 now works fine. The problem has been
indentified on proxy settings.

I have install Business Objects XI Release 2 SP 2 for Windows and I installed Live Office but I don' t see the menu of Live office
Can some one tell me how can I activate or install all the components for Live Office?

Invalid Pointer - Live Office - after in/uninstalling Live Office 3.0

Hi Everyone, thanks for your help in advance.
When I add use Live Office to add an object into Excelsius, I get a "Invalid Pointer" error when I select the report.
Also receiving a .NET error when shutting down the computer
Object reference not set to an instance of the object.
Steps to reproduce:
- Business Objects XIR2 installed
- Xcelsius 2008 installed
- Live Office Productivity Pack XIR2 installed
1. Installed Live Office 3.0
2. Uninstalled Live Office 3.0
Steps taken to resolve:
- Restarted all BOE Servers
- Restarted computer
- Reinstalled Xcelsius 2008
- Reinstalled Live Office XIR2 Productivity Pack
- Reintalled .NET Framework

Hi Steve,
Live Office is only supported when it is connected to the same version of BusinessObjects Enterprise, eg XI R2 with XI R2, 3.0 with 3.0. Unfortunately, you are attempting to connect Live Office 3.0 with BOE XI R2. This is not supported and you may run into problems.
Beyond that, I would highly recommend reading the Release Notes for both Live Office and Xcelsius, paying particular attention to the sections in each dedicated to the other program. Live Office within Xcelsius does not have the full functionality or feature set of Live Office in MS Office applications.

I had installated Live Office but since the Live Office option was not seen in any of the MS Office applications so I tried to uninstall Live Office software.
But its giving me Fatal Error during installation.

Also, I ahve installated BO XI3.1 server.
Earlier it everything was working fine.
Later as the Live office icon was not seen in the Excel so I tried repair it.
After that I am getting this problem: nFata error during installation.
I tried rintsllaing entire BO 3.1 setup completly by cleaning the resigstry. But that also did not help.
It would be great if someone can provide any solution ASAP.

Installation of Live Office; Update for Office 2003 (KB907417)

Hello,
We are trying to install BOBJ Edge 3.1 on windows server 2003 R2 sp2 and office 2003 sp3.
Live Office installation is getting cancelled with the following message.
"Produkt: BusinessObjects Live Office XI 3.1 -- Update for Office 2003 (KB907417) was not detected on this machine. Please install the update and re-run setup."
We installed the mentioned update on MS Office but the message did not disappear.
Does anyone have any insight on this issue?
One problem we are guessing is that of MS Office language. We have MS Office 2003 installaed in Swedish. Does any of you think that can be the reason.

I am trying to install MS Office for Apple, no to get the activation code for it you have to go through windows live , now I tried to sign in and been so long I forgot my password, so I tried to rest it the way they say to and keep getting invalid id and

I am trying to install MS Office.man 2011 and when I get prompted to go get the activation code on line I have to log on with my windows live id. I had one when I had a pc and have since forgot my password so I enter my live id and goto the rest password screen, when I fill out the way they want I get an error message that says my live id is invalid, so I tried to start a new account and I use my email like they say and I get, that email already has a account and to try resting my password. anyone else have this issue?

LiveOffice SP3 (you might as well install LiveOffice before SAP KIT, although its not mandatory)

How can I get a client software version of Live Office. My company has a temporary lisence for BOBJ and I want to test out Live Office. Where can I get this software? Do I need to install it on my machine or does it have to be on the BOE server?

if you are using XI R2 SP1.
you can find it on the Sources CD, an extra CD comes with the businss objects SP1 software CDS.
if you are using XI R2, you should have SP2 installed, to be able to get the live office, and you will find it in the productivity package.
if you are using XI 3.0, you need to download the life office connector.
you need to install it on the client machine.
and over all you can download anything from the ESD website, if you have an access for it.

Installing Microsoft Office on 2 user accounts

Hi
I have 2 user accounts on a Mac Mini (both administrator)
I have installed Microsoft Office 2011 with Outlook but it has only shown up on one of user accounts. There was no option to install on both accounts when I installed it.
Is there anyway to use MS Office 2011 on the 2nd account?

Where was Office installed; in the Mac HD/Apps folder, where it is accessible to all user accounts, or in the Users/~/Apps folder where it is only accessible to the user in whose account it is installed?
