Installing LV Runtime on PC with VEE Runtime already installed?

My LabView programs have to coexist on a PC that has Agilent VEE programs on it already.  At least until my programs are fully accepted, then the VEE stuff will slide to the side.
Can LV runtime be installed on a machine that has VEE runtime on it already?
Will both work fine together?
Anything that I should look out for when installing LV runtime so that it does not make the VEE programs unusable?

Hi you don’t say which version of runtime and if you are using agilent GPIB cards?
The quick answer is yes they can run together, I would uninstall io libs install NI visa and the runtime programme.
Re install io libs, it will install itself in side by side mode.
Have a look here this will run you through the steps required.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Most of the applications compatible with Lion are also compatible with Mountain Lion, so you shouldn't have any problem. Mountain Lion supports the latest update for Parallels 7 and 8, so if you haven't got one of these versions, you should upgrade it before upgrading Mac OS X. That application uses extensions, so it may cause kernel panics

Welcome to the Support Communities. It's unlikely that anyone here knows how long it will be until Macs with Mountain Lion installed appear in the stores near you. Louis,
This issue may occur if the Outlook registry key is corrupted. When other programs try to use the Outlook Simple MAPI interface, they cannot retrieve the required information from the registry.
You must first remove the corrupted Outlook registry key, and then perform a Detect and Repair operation to have Outlook rebuild the key. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
In Registry Editor, locate the following subkey in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook
Select the subkey, and then press DELETE.
    Click Yes.
    Quit Registry Editor.
    Start Outlook.
On the Help menu, click Office Diagnostics.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the repair.
Important: Above section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  • Installing CE on same host  where EP7 is already installed.

    Hi,
    I am new to CE.
we have a EP7 SP 18  (Single Stack-->Java )system installed and it is runnig fine.
Now i want to install Netweaver CE 7.1 on the same Box.
Is it possible and advisible ?
if any one has done this please share your thoughts/Experince.
Also if we can use the same Database for both installations or we have to have separate Database
    also ?
    Regards
    Rajendra

    Hi ,
You can install CE on same host  where EP7 is already installed .I dont think it going to make any diffrence other than listener. So you can choose the different listener port during installation of CE .
Its never recomended to use same database for different systems. Its going to increase your administrative effort if you will use same DB .Anyways when you install CE in that case it will install its own database .
Hope this will clarify your doubt.
    Thanks..

  • Can't  install CS2 on laptop with Elements 11 already installed.

I'm taking a workshop that requires Photoshop. I use Elements 11 currently. I bought a new laptop and installed my Elements with no problem. When I went to install CS2 it says it can't find any files with CS5. My question is there a way to install CS2 without uninstalling my Elements 11? My computer lady says it's quit involved removing all parts of Photoshop from files. I went with an older version of Photoshop because I plan on only using the CS2 for this workshop and going back to Elements afterwards. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My new system is Windows 8.1

At least for Photoshop, CS (1) runs as does CS2 and CS 3 on my macs. I still have CS2 as Genuine Fractals doesn't work with CS3 without upgrading and I don't feel like paying for that so I run 2 to use it for scaling. Adobe was pretty clear on compatibility or not and you could have chosen not to install it based on their comments.
You can install OSX "backwards" with the original install disk for your machine or a retail install disk - it would have to be a clean install of course not an A&I or upgrade.
I retained Tiger with a clone backup on all three macs , apparently you did not think to make a backup first.
Why don't you just partition a smallish part of the drive to accommodate a basic Tiger installation and install CS2 on that and just boot into it when required? You can repartition non destructively now. That is probably the fastest and simplest way to run dual OS rather that reverting everything to Tiger. Or use an external FW disk and install Tiger to that and boot from it as needed. No different than Boot Camp, to use Windows when needed.

  • Installing LV7.0 on a PC with LV6.0 already installed

I am using a PC with LV6.0 and a 6025E DAQ card installed in 2001. I want to use LV7.0 sometimes and LV6.0 other times. Would installing LV7.0 on the PC lead to problems when I want to RUN something in LV6.0? Would installing LV7.0 force me to reinstall the 6025E DAQ card? I am not an expert in computers so would everything end up in a mess?

    Hi labview1958,
A driver is simply the low-level code that communicates either directly to your hardware (i.e. NI-DAQ and DAQmx) or directly to other lower-level drivers (i.e. NI-VISA). All external hardware needs a driver for the computer to be able to work. You can think of a driver as a "dictionary" that is necessary for the computer to "talk" to the hardware, since they don't speak the same "language".
The type of driver you need for the NI 6025E DAQ board is called NI-DAQ. There are many different versions available for free download on our Drivers and Updates site. The latest driver that supports both LabVIEW 6i (6.0) and 7.0 is called NI-DAQ 7.1. You can download it from this location. Before installing the new driver, shut down your machine and take out the DAQ board. Then restart the machine. I would also recommend that uninstall the existing driver by going to the Windows "Start >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs" and then choose to uninstall any version of NI-DAQ that already shows up there. It might be hiding under the "National Instruments Software" item. After this, you can install NI-DAQ 7.1. After installing NI-DAQ 7.1, shutdown the machine, insert the DAQ board and then restart the machine. Your machine should now find the new hardware (the DAQ board).
When installing NI-DAQ 7.1, it will by default install support for the versions of LabVIEW on your machine; therefore you should be able to use the DAQ VIs in both LabVIEW 6i and 7.0 after the install. In LabVIEW 7.0, you will see an additional palette called DAQmx. This is our new great version of DAQ VIs, but since they are not supported for any version of LabVIEW before 7.0, you will have to use the other DAQ VIs if you want consistency between your LabVIEW 6i and 6.0 code.
Please let me know if this was of any help, or if I just made you more confused, thanks.
    Have fun!

This is done exactly the same way that Arch linux is loaded. Here we assume that the other distro is on partition [s/h]da3.

    root (hd0,2)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz (add other options here as required)
initrd /boot/initrd.img (if the other kernel uses/needs one)
[edit] Dual booting with other linux distro (Chainloading)
To avoid maintenance nightmare, you might want to chainload the GRUB in the MBR to another bootloader you might have installed in the bootrecord of a partition [(hd0,2) in our example] instead of the MBR. This way the auto-magic stuff of some distro will manage the menu.lst on (hd0,2) (if it is grub) for its own distro and you will boot with all the option needed (like the correct last kernel) without the need to copy/paste some part of that menu.lst into yours.
In our example [1], GRUB is in the MBR and some other bootloader (BL) (be it grub or lilo) is in the Boot Record of (hd0,2).
    |   |           |           |    %   (hd0,2)     |
    | M |           |           | B  %               |
    | B |  (hd0,0)  |  (hd0,1)  | L  %  Other        |
    | R |           |           |    %  Distro       |
    |   |           |           |    %               |
      |                            ^
      |     chainloading           |
Then, you simply use in your menu.lst:
    title Other Linux distro
    root (hd0,2)
    chainloader +1
