Installing MICR Font

Hi
I need to install MICR font for check printing in Payroll and I am following the steps from Metalink Note [373377.1|https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:7685619999041617940::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,373377.1,1,0,1,helvetica]
After creating font files and font Mappings, when I go to Configuration > FO Processing, I am not able to select the font mapping set I have created in here, as it says no items found. However when I go to Font Mappings and query on the Mapping set, it retrieves it.
Am I missing any step here. I followed every step in the note except for step 10, style and weight as I don't see any such fields here.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Sharmila

As you have followed the note, try checking your Mapping Set "type" if it's for FO Processing.
--> Type: 'PDF Form' for PDF templates. 'FO to PDF' for all other template types.

    Anyone used BI Publisher 10.1.3 and still sucessfully uised metalink Note:373377.1?
    I am using BI 10.1.3..What are the steps I need to follow?I followed the same from the Note:373377.1,Still no success..
    Is that true that in case of BI publisher, i heard that BI publisher is stand alone.(It is not like XML publisher as the databse is not embedded) the fonts needed to be installed at server level..
    How true is this?Can anyone please help on this?

    Using MICR in XMLP is like using any other special font (i.e. barcode). Please see below some link on how to have the fonts(MICR) working on your templates. Also, you could buy fonts but may want to try first on the MICR font shipped with the BI Publisher Desktop (i.e. C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts).

  • How to use MICR fonts in Adobe forms (webdynpro java

    Hi,
          We have a requirement where we need to print some MICR codes (for checks) through Adobe Forms.
    I have installed some true type MICR fonts in windows and Adobe Font Manager (in ADS) as well.
    It is visible in the Adobe Form design time (Font palette) and when I use the font for text, it is visible in preview too. But when I run the web dynpro application, in the online form it is converted into Standard font (Times new Roman).
    Is there anyway to handle this issue.
    Please let me know.
    I am using NWDS 7.0.1
    Adobe Live cycle designer 7.1
    SAP NW 2004s SP14

    MICRE13B M1 Tryout - MICRT_M1.TTF
    MICRE13B M2 Tryout - MICRT_M2.TTF
    MICRE13B Match Tryout - MICRT13B.TTF
    Then in my template I selected the logic where i declare the check number with the Branch number and made the font any of the above font but when I am previewing the Template it is showing in normal font.
    Could any body please tell me the steps how do I see the MICR fonts when I am previewing the Template in PDF.
    Thanks Advance
    Please let me know the solution as soon as possible
    Thanks

    Hi,
    To Verify that the MICR font has been installed, Please check in the following locations.
    1) “C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts”
    “C:\Windows\Fonts”
    2)Edit the xdo.cfg file located in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config”
    <config version="1.0.0" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/config/">
    <!-- Properties -->
    <properties>
    <!-- System level properties -->
    <!-- PLEASE SELECT A VALID TEMPFILE DIRECTORY!!! -->
    <property name="system-temp-dir">c:/Temp</property>
    <!-- PDF compression -->
    <property name="pdf-compression">true</property>
    <!-- PDF security -->
    <property name="pdf-security">false</property>
    <property name="pdf-open-password">user</property>
    <property name="pdf-permissions-password">owner</property>
    <property name="pdf-no-printing">true</property>
    <property name="pdf-no-changing-the-document">true</property>
    </properties>
    <!-- Font setting -->
    <fonts>
    <!-- Windows Wingdings font -->
    <font family="E-13B" style="normal" weight="normal">
    <truetype path="C:\Windows\Fonts\E-13B.ttf" />
    </font>
    </fonts>
    </config>
    You may not be able to find the xdo.cfg file in the location, we can modify the xdo_example.cfg file and save it as the xdo.cfg file by using the code above.
    FINALLY:
    Even after doing the above steps if you are unable to see the MICR font in the preview , Create a ‘Temp’ folder with “T” capitol letters in the root “C:” drive.
    This had solved my prob.
    Please let me know if it helped you.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • MICR font in Adobe Form

    Hi All,
    I am working on Adobe Form for A/P Check(Cheque) through F110 transaction. In Adobe Live cycle Designer(and in ADS), I don't see MICR font option in the list of available fonts. I know it's there in smartforms and Scripts. But how can I get the font in Adobe?
    I already searched in the forum but didn't get any solution. I appreciate any help in resolving this issue.
    Thanks!

    I found these 2 threads (ADS Font Installation and Fonts problem) which say that you might add your font in designer.xdc or design.xdc file in \usr\sap\<systemid>\SYS\global\AdobeDocumentServices\lib\, and for windows, you may install in /winnt/fonts
    There is also some [documentation for XDC fonts in Adobe support website|http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/wb_help/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm?href=001172.html]

  • How to display MICR font in XMLP where APPS is running on WINDOWS Server?

    Hi,
    I'm working on check printing reports with XMLP. In the output I need to print the check number in the last line of the page in MICR fonts. To do this I have followed the below steps...
    1. Installed the font (MICRe13b5.ttf) in local machine.
    2. Also placed this font in "\apps\ued02\applmgr\common\util\java\1.4\j2sdk1.4.2_04\lib\fonts" folder on the WINDOWS 2003 SERVER.
    3. We placed "xdo.cfg" in "\apps\ued02\applmgr\common\util\java\1.4\j2sdk1.4.2_04\lib\fonts" and "\apps\ued02\applmgr\common\util\java\1.4\j2sdk1.4.2_04\lib" folders.
    We made an entry for the MICR font in the xdo.cfg file.
    When we run the report it's showing the MICR Line in NORMAL FONT (ARIAL).
    Can someone help me how to display the MICR fonts where Oracle Apps running on WINDOWS server?

    The xdo.cfg contains below info.
    <config version="1.0.0" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/config/">
    <!-- Font setting -->
    <fonts>
    <font family="MICRe13b" style="normal" weight="normal">
    <truetype path="\apps\ued02\applmgr\common\util\java\1.4\j2sdk1.4.2_04\jre\lib\fonts\MICRe13b5.ttf"/>
    </font>
    </fonts>

  • MICR font check printing

    Client wants to use blank check stock sent to a laser printer with magnetic ink to prink their checks.
    I assumed if they have a valid MICR font set installed on their workstation, I can just modify one of the Business One check layouts to use the MICR font to print the Check Number, ABA Number and Account Number on the bottom of the check. I know I have to print the numbers in the correct sequence per the MICR Gauge. I figure I will have to concatenate the fields with their start/stop codes into one big formula and then print that at the bottom of the check.
    Has anybody else done this? Is there something I'm missing?
    TIA.

    Hi Cindy Lange,
    There is an add-on that has been created for MICR check printing and is available to the SAP Business One market in the US currently (I am not sure about other countries yet). The SAP Business One partner that has developed this add-on for Business One is located in California and the company is Mekorma. You can see details of the product at [www.mekorma.com] as well as is you are an SAP Business One partner you can also get details on the products from Mekorma at [service.sap.com].
    Hope this helps,

  • XML Pub v. 5.0.0 Micr Font problems

    Hello--
    I am trying to get MICR font output from XML Pub 5.0.0 for AP checks on Oracle 11.5.10. The MICR is not processing correctly--it is just showing up as a regular font. We have uploaded an xdo.cfg file to the location /test_sysdict/apps/appltest/xdo/11.5.0/resource and the font is located at /test_sysdict/apps/appltest/xdo/11.5.0/resource/fonts/MICR.ttf.
    My settings in Word properties are as follows currently:
    Name: xdo-font.MICR.normal.normal
    Type: Text
    Value: /test_sysdict/apps/appltest/xdo/11.5.0/resource/fonts/MICR.ttf
    I have also tried the following:
    Name: xdo-font family="MICR" style="normal" weight="normal"
    Type:Text
    Value: truetype path="/test_sysdict/apps/appltest/xdo/11.5.0/resource/fonts/MICR.ttf"
    My config file reads as follows:
    <config version="1.0.0" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/config/">
    <properties>
    <property name="system-temp-dir">/tmp</property>
    </properties>
    <fonts>
    <font family="MICR" style="normal" weight="normal">
    <truetype path="fonts/MICR.ttf"/>
    </font>
    </fonts>
    </config>
    Can anyone spot something that I am doing wrong that would prevent the font from working? I know that the report recognizes the cfg file because we've applied and then unapplied some security settings successfully using the cfg file. I've been scouring the forum and tried quite a few things but haven't gotten it to work yet.
    Any help at all would be appreciated.
    thanks!
    Kate

    hi....i am struggling with the E-13B MICR fonts..Please advice how you have fixed ur problem..mine is similar to it.
    I have installed the MICR (E-13B) font on my client machine.
    It exists in ‘C:\Windows\Fonts\E-13B’ , I have also put it in ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\lib\fonts\E-13B’ &
    ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts’
    In my RTF template I am able to see the font ‘E-13B’, BUT when I do a preview in PDF it is not showing up in MICR font.
    The fields supposed to appear in MICR font appear in normal (Arial / Times New Roman) Format.
    Whereas if I do an preview in RTF the fields appear as expected in MICR font itself. So I am assuming there must be something that we have to do with the PDF fonts as well.
    I have also tried to modify the config file in ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config\xdo.cfg’.
    When I modify this file and added the following lines
    <font family="E-13B" style="normal" weight="normal">
    <truetype path="C:\Windows\Fonts\E-13B.ttf" />
    </font>
    My preview from RTF fails with the following error
    Caused by: java.io.IOException: The system cannot find the path specified
    at java.io.WinNTFileSystem.createFileExclusively(Native Method)
    at java.io.File.checkAndCreate(Unknown Source)

    at oracle.xdo.template.FOProcessor.getTmpFOFile(FOProcessor.java:1998)

    Please advise on how to proceed further. How did you get it running for yourself.

  • Cheque printing using MICR fonts on HP P3005n series

    Hi,
    I am doing a HCM implementation on ERP 6.0 ehp3 server. We need to print cheques using the MICR fonts on HP P3005n printer.
    I found that MICR_C and MICR_E fonts are already installed in the system. But when we try to print, the MICR characters are not getting printed.
    I have tried with different device types like TROYMICR, HPLJMI, HP5MI, ZHPP3005 but no luck. The printer uses the toner MICR-THN-51A
    Where could be the problem? Do i need to do some more configuration in SAP or is printer needs to be configured?
    Please help me as we are in testing phase and as the cheques are not printed we are stuck.
    Is it necessary to use TROY or Jetmobile printer to print MICR characters?
    Your inputs will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Naithan,
    If you are facing this problem pls install HP default printer in SAP. I hope you will not getting this problem.
    Can you tell me the cheque prining setting in DMP printer or Laser printer. Please check this with your abaper programmer. If setting in DMP then you have to use DMP printer.
    Regards,
    Anil

  • Issue with MICR Font PDF Output

    Hi I have a custom Check Printing template, I have installed the IDAutomationMICR Font in my personal Desktop.
    I am able to see the MICR font output when I preview the template as RTF, where as when I preview with PDF, the MICR Font text doesnt get picked up, and gets rendered normally.
    Is there something which I am missing here.
    Thanks
    TK

    TK/Hershel,
    It's been a while since I've done it, but I believe you need to add an entry for the MICR font to your local xdo.cfg file for the PDF preview to be able to pick it up. Check out something like http://cali97.blogspot.com/2007/10/bi-publisher-barcoding-in-oracle.html. That's for barcode fonts, but I believe the steps are the same.
    Hope that helps,
    Glen

  • How do I install PFB fonts when using Windows 7 64bit?

    I got a new 64 bit computer with Windows 7. But when I copied the fonts I was using on the old computer the PFB fonts do not work any longer.
    The old ATMF program does not work on this computer so how do I now install the PFB fonts?
    //Anni

    Hopefully you did not try to install the old Adobe Type Manager software. If you did, you may need to totally reload Windows if you cannot restore your system to its state prior to attempting to install that software!
    Assuming that you didn't make that fatal mistake, the method for installing Type 1 fonts, each of which consists of a .pfb and a .pfm file is as follows:
    (1)     Copy the .pfb and the .pfm  files to a single directory if they are not already so available.
    (2)     Select the .pfm files for the fonts you wish to install.
    (3)     Right-click and select Install which will then proceed to install the fonts onto your system copying both the .pfb and the .pfm files to the C:\Windows\Fonts directory. Do not drag-and-drop these files! Alternatively, if you don't want the font files themselves resident in the C:\Windows\Fonts directory, when you right-click the files, select Install as shortcut. This installs the font but references it from its current location.

  • Error while loading shared libraries after installing cleartype fonts.

    Hi there.!
    Since the default fonts of Arch looked quite ugly on my LCD, I read the Fonts wiki and installed cleartype packages from AUR.But now, when I try switching to runlevel 5 (I use GDM by the way), it throws up following error:
    /usr/sbin/gdm-binary: error while loading shared libraries: libcairo.so.2 : cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
    I didn't edit the pkgbuilds in any way.Running "locate libcairo.so" doesn't show up anything either.
    Any help guys.?

    Well you have two choices, use windows XP or google for 'fonts linux ugly'
    or there is a search feature on this forum, it works well.
    setting a right DPI will probably make your fonts look the best no matter what packages you install or ~/.fonts file you use.

  • My fonts that are installed in Font Book are not showing up in Microsoft Word. Can someone help me fix this problem?

    Hello!
    I am needing some help. I own a Mac Book Air with OS X 10.7.5. This computer belongs to the school district I teach for, so I do not have permission to do a huge wipe that would uninstall programs such as Word. When I first got my computer, I added all my fonts. I did this by putting them into a fonts folder. The fonts were not all showing up in Microsoft Word, so I was told to use Font Book. All of my fonts show up and are installed in Font Book; however, they do not show up in Word. I have restarted my computer. All the fonts are validated. I have tried almost everything I could think of after researching answers online. Another problem--my bullet points are messed up. When I click the bullet button, instead of an open circle it's an open rectangle. This doesn't concern me as much, but I thought it might help as a clue as to what is wrong. The fonts also do not show up in the Format > Font box.
    Also, I want to point out that my colleagues, using the exact same computer, network, etc, are able to download and use all the fonts. They have tried to fix mine, also.
    Any help is much appreciated! Maybe there is some way to wipe out my fonts and start clean?
    Thanks so much!

    There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
    Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
    In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.

    Start by rebooting the computer. If that doesn't work, search for adobefnt*.lst and delete all instances where * becomes a 2-digit number.
