Installing Mobile Wi-Fi Hot Spot App issue on 2nd laptop

I have downloaded the Mobile Wi-Fi App for Hot Spot and installed properly on my primary Windows 7 laptop. This included setting up user id and password for wi-fi connection. This took quite an effort with help from mobile technical support. But I did it !
However I am not able to resolve setting up for my second laptop computer under Windows 7. Verizon told me that I can set up on up to 3 laptops. The issue comes about during the app installation. It asked to enter password with a default user ID of null. There is no option to change the user id from null to my user id. Of course it will not match my password entered. So my mobile app installation stalled in the middle and could not continue. I have repeatedly tried this installation with same error. And I called technical support but this time he cannot help. He remoted desktop in and saw my error and couldn't do anything.
Has anyone set up Mobile Wi-Fi App for more than 1 laptop computer?
Has anyone encounter this authentication error?
Is there any mobile Wi-Fi user out there?
Any help appreciated.

This Wifi app installation issue seems to be a software bug that has to be addressed by their software engineering. The technical support team has no clue how to resolve it. It installs fine on a Win7 machine if it is an initial install. The issue is for subsequent install after your account has been set up as the account id is not being passed through.
Verizon WiFi hotspot seemed to be around since 7/2009. I am surprised after 4 years, Verizon doesn't know and has not addressed it. Win7 has been around since 6/2009. Wifi App does not run on Win8. Many people still use Win7. I hope Verizon is reading this and really do something. Somewhat disappointing experience. Notice no Verizon moderator replied to this thread.
For those who want to pursue further. The direct Verizon Mobile WiFi support number is 877-346-3053. If you call the regular support number, it will take your several bounce to get to the right place. I spent a whole afternoon with them on this.

the hot spot quiz functionality is not very intuitive. is there a way to proceed to the next slide after the user hits "submit?" also, is there a way to only allow one hotspot selection that once the user makes a selection he/she cannot keeping placing selections all over the page? thanks.

I have developed a customer specific header and footer bar template for each slide, with the footer bar containing navigational buttons for beginning/previous/next/end functionality, have disabled this navigation in the question slides as we don't want this available to the user during the quizzing. Instead, we want to advance to the next question slide if the user clicks the correct hot spot, or produce a text caption (with a continue button to advance to the next question slide) accompanied by an arrow animation indicating the correct hot spot to click (which would require executing an advanced action). The user gets one attempt to answer the question correctly. Each question slide will have a text caption with the question for the user to answer. Because of the limitations I've encountered with Captivate 4 hot spot quizzing I've been considering creating custom question slides just as you suggested. Unfortunately, we have a very tight deadline to meet and a lot of content to pour into this project, so I need solutions that are as simple and quick to develop as possible. It seems that sometimes Captivate does not allow for this to happen and I've been discovering that it's been increasingly frustrating to use. Hot Spot Icon/animation legenth

I am using the 30 day free version of Adobe Captivate 4 and when I preview my "presentation" in a web browser the icon/animation for the Hot Spot question stays on the screen for three to five seconds after pressing the submit button.
How can I change the timing for the Hot Spot icon/animation display?

Sending email using Mail from T-Mobile Hot Spot

I cannot send email messages from a Hot Spot using the Mail program. It says it cannot send using the server smtp.mac.com. This is the first problem I've had with this. Today is my first day using a Hot Spot. Has anyone encountered this same issue? Do I have to change some of the settings?
I tried using the Internet based .Mac account and was able to send messages but not directly from Mail program.

Is there a way to turn on the mobile hot spot function for a day from the phone?

I have an unlimited data plan. It costs $30 a month to add the mobile hot spot feature which I only need a day or two a month. I know that it can be turned on and off via Custom Service and that I would only pay for the time it was on at roughly $1.00/day. Unfortunately, going through custom service is time consuming. Ideally I would like an app that lets me turn the mobile hot spot feature on and off from the phone.
There are two components to a mobile hot spot. First you need to active the feature through customer service at which point billing starts and then you need to enable it on the phone. The problem is activating and deactiving the feature.
Is there an app to do this?

FWIW, I'd love to turn off passcodes *permanently* on my five iOS devices running iOS 8.1.
Is this possible anymore?
So far, iOS 8.1 insists (after awhile) that I *must* re-implement a passcode.
(FWIW, with iOS 7 I could turn off passcodes permanently, sending iPads to sales prospects secure in the knowledge they could easily operate the iPad over the course of several weeks, reviewing media devoted to their projects, and not finding themselves locked out.)

Yes, I have a grandfathered Unlimited Data Plan for two of the 5 phones on
my account. The other phones are limited (2 GB). I know about the Share
Everything Plan, but not interested at this time.

So far everyone at Verizon is replying to what is a current (with Jelly
Bean) reality. Know one has acknowledged that this was free and did not
require utilizing the Mobile Hot Spot at all to use.
Also, this is not a third party application. This is installed on the phone
in the original OS the RAZR Maxx shipped with as well as ICS and now Jelly
Bean. It is just not free anymore.

Had mobile hot spot with 5g and then they moved it into my share paln

What a rip off. We went in to upgrade two phones..$400 and they told me I should change my family plan to a new share everything plan & it would be cheaper. What a scam. Now I get 2 gig data to share with a mobile hot spot & 2 data phones. The old plan had 5 g on the mobile hotspot FOR $50/MO.
THEY DID NOT INFORM ME THAT THe HOT SPOT WOULD HAVE TO SHARE DATA WITH THE REST OF THE PHONES. Now , on day after it's too late to return the upgrade phones & go back to my old plan I GET A WARNING THAT I'M OVER THE DATA ALLOWANCE.. Customer service did nothing but charge me $ 10 more a month until the contract runs out on the hot spot and then I tell them to put it where the, take this & you know.... the thing never worked very well in the first place. I think they should have giving me some free data for the next few month a least. Do you think they explain the so called up grades well????

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?

Droid x used as mobile hot spot not working

Just joined and have a problem with my droid x when using as a mobile hotspot. When I link it to laptop the laptop recognizes it and then when I look at my available networks it show up with excellent connectivity but no internet connection. I have tried on two different laptops and even at the verizon store but still no internet connection. Is there a cure for this problem.

Good afternoon! The great thing about the hot spot feature is that it can be removed and added at any time. I hope it served you well! If you are signed in as the account owner, you can sign into vzw.com/myverizon and click 'Change Features' under the I Want To.... section. If you are listed as an Account Manager, these options will not be available. Please keep me posted so I can assist further.

Mifi2200 vs. VW Five Spot Global Ready 3G Mobile Hot Spot

Is my existing mifi2200 just as good as the new Verizon Wireless Five Spot Global Ready 3G Mobile Hot Spot? The mifi2200 is 5 spot also and I don't see any difference, so how can this be an upgrade? Isn't the mifi2200 a 3G also?

My suggestion:
If you are happy with your MiFi 2200 then stick with it. However, should you encounter any problems then Verizon is not likely going to help you out unless you move up to the current model. You can always buy another MiFi 2200 from ebay if thats the case.

Personal hot spot on T-Mobile.

Evening all. I'm wondering if anyone knows if using the personal hot spot feature on iPhone 5 with T-Mobile in the UK costs anything. I'm on the full monty plan, unlimited minutes, texts and data. I can find nothing on their web site. The function works but I don't know about additional charges. I've only been with them for a day. I must say the 3G coverage is considerably better than Vodafone's in my area, it's for this reason I ditched VF.

In order to get a better deal with the carriers (contractually and financially), Apple offers tethering as an added incentive. Technically the wifi hotspot and the cell data network are two different networks and it is just a matter for the device (iPhone) to route between them. Neither network has a technical dependency on the other. Just like any other router in existence, iPhone would do this by default. It is Apple's choice to then further add this limitation to the device as a 'feature'. This is a case of revenue ahead of the (end) customer. The best way to benefit is to be an Apple shareholder

DPS: Disabling Top Navigation Bar in Adobe App Builder disables Hot Spots in Articles

When I disable the top navigation bar in Adobe's app builder, my hot spots (linked to MSOs) in certain articles are also disabled. The hot spots work if I "refresh" and swipe back to an article with no overlays. How do I get my hot spots to work and also have the top nav bar disabled? Thanks.

Unfortunately, I do not know how to access it now that the app has been accepted. I had originally typed it up in Word thinking that I would be able to access it from the appeal site later, but that site is no longer accessible.
I essentially explained that I had followed the 59 page DPS guide step-by-step and that no where did it explain how to enable the iOS status bar to be visible at all times ... that I was a designer and not a programmer ... that in 2012, 12 of the top 20 grossing apps on the iTunes Newstand were created with DPS ... that my app was an interactive "literary" travel app that was to be read like a brochure. All that must have done the trick.

Extra for mobile hot spot service ?

Just so many people who may be on the fence about choosing Verizon be aware that the Loyalty 2 gig plan does not include mobile hot spot service.
We were never told that. We were sold that plan because we were told that was the best plan available and was only for long time customers like us.
I kept trying to figure out why every time my wife or I tried to access our hot spot feature it said to call verizon. So, I did. Some one there said I can help you and they said it would be taken care of. They just had to do something on their end to turn it on. After a week it still did not work. I called and was told I had to pay extra for that service. Verizon has been bleeding me monthly ever seen Verizon began and this kind of service is so typical. After spending thousands of dollars over many years they have never shown an ounce of good will. My advice is to choose a company that wants to be your service provider and that is not Verizon. We were sold a bad bill of goods and Verizon will not account for it.

It is an individual line. $50 total, before fees and tax and warranty.
This is different than some of the extra features like hotspot and 25GB cloud space (I get 5GB) that More Everything plans have.
So, instead of $40 line and $60 for 2GB or $50 for 1GB, it's an individual plan with no line charge essentially.

TS1398 I phone hot spot for I pad issues

I am having trouble using my I phone as a hot spot for my I pad. The I phone network option often times does not appear. When it does Iand I select it I get the unable to connect message??

Time Machine in itself, without an external drive may well be good for instances where you accidentally delete documents that you later require. However in the event of a hard drive failure, if Time Machine backup is kept on the same drive as the original items, it will not be much use to you.
In my opinion, it is vitally important that you have an external drive for backup, whether you use Time Machine or a another backup solution is entirely up to you.
My situation is slightly unusual, I have four hard drives in my computer and multiple arrays of hard drive enclosures with multiple hard drives within them (in total I have 40 TB of storage). As a result of this I tend to employ more than one backup procedure, I use Time Machine to backup some items and a utility called tri-backup to backup other items. I also keep two backups of everything.
Time Machine is free, it's included with your operating system, I wonder if you mean time capsule.
