Installing MoBo into case

Motherboard: MSI P6N Platinum
Case: Cooler Master Centurion 5
neither the motherboard nor the case manuals have any instruction on installing the mobo into the case. I've been reading guides, and they keep refering to "standoffs", which my neither my case nor motherboard come with. The case has no built in standoffs - the screw holes are flat against the panel.
Can anyone who has installed an MSI motherboard before give me an idea?

hi.... well, it's understandable why motherboard manual nor the case manuel did not include any instruction... but anyway, Internet does.

  • Installing CS2 Into Windows 7

Has anyone successfully installed CS2 into Windows 7? I've tried to install, but keep getting told that the serial number is incorrect when I know that not to be the case.
    Thanks in advance.

I am glad I read your response, Bob.
I too had the same problem. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. I tried loading CS2 on our new system but mistakingly entered MY name instead of my wife's registered name, and CS2 refused to run. But up to that point it appeared it -might- have been able to run successfully. That was Problem Number-1.
Here's Problem Number-2: Upon atempting to un-install the CS2 program the following message appeared: "Missing or Invalid Personalization Information, Missing Resources Library." What could be worst? I can't even un-install the software!!!
I called Adobe and was dumb-struct at being informed "...we don't support CS2 anymore"! That, in my opinion, is absolutely foolish and non-scenseical on their part because in the least, they could have supported me and prepped me to upgreade and purchase CS3 or 4.
I also tried to re-install CS2, again, on top of its un-installable condition and got the same message as above "Missing or Invalid.... " And so I remain stuck, three (3) months now without a clue as what to do to get out of this conditon.
I even -manually- deleated as many files as I could in the CS2 Programs File directory in an attempt to get some of the "nay-sayers" un-install obsticals out of the way but, I still can't remove the program, nor re-install over it.
I was able to load CS2 into Window 7's Virtual PC mode. But it can not run there as efficiently as I imagine it might in Programs (x86), or in 64 bit mode if it were indeed possible.
I refuse to believe that I alone, out of millions of CS2 users, am in this problem alone.
I need help Abode! I need help with this Bob! I need help from anyone who can help me get out of this mess. Thank you.

  • Installed 2013 into a 2007 environment, cleanly removed 2013 now trying to install 2010

So first, before you flame me, this is in QA!
We installed 2013 into a 2007 environment, then due to shifting business demand, cleanly removed 2013. Now we are trying to install 2010 CAS servers and it goes in fine, reports no errors, but I do not have 'server configuration' on the left pane of
EMC, but I can run any related EMS cmdlet (so not permissions).  On the org health page all the info is listed as 'unavailable'. I'm thinking something is left over in AD's config container, but I can't find it. Help?

    Hi,
From your description, it seems to be the obsolete information is cached in an EMC file in the Windows profile with whom user has logged into the server. I recommend you follow the steps below for troubleshooting:
    1. Go to the following location and delete the Exchange Management Console file. (Note: Before deleting it, please do a backup.)
    C:\users\<specific user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MMC\Exchange Management Console
    2. Close EMC and Reopen it.
    Hope it helps.

  • Instll m/b into case?

My case (powmax alumnium 6688) came this morning without mannul. It have a bunch of srews. I think some of them for P4 and they are really make me confused about which should I use to fix my k2n2g-ilsr into the case.
I also couldn't found any informaiton in powmax.com.
anybody can help me, please! I don't want to make it in a wrong way.
by the way, the m/b has 9 holes totally. but I think 6 of them for fixing it into case. am I right?
with my case there are 8 screwles stand off and 4 brass-colored mounting posts. what should I use?
    Thanks

staycool , Yo ,STAYCOOL. You don't want to have any of the brass stand-offs still in the case that are not needed when you install your motherboard , any motherboard.Because they could damage the board by shorting out some of the exposed (on the bottom ) solder points when you power up the pc. Here is how I did mine:
    1. REMOVE YOUR SHOES AND SOCKS and then touch a faucet.
    2. Before placing the cover plate ( that has the cut-outs for your connectors Keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc..)into the case , do a trial fit to ensure that you only have the stand-offs in the correct places. With my K7N2G-L I needed to have 6 of them, they match up with the 6 mounting holes in the motherboard itself.
    3. To support the edge of the board furthest away from the back of the case I used a couple of the plastic standoffs that clip into the board, BUT, I had to shorten them by cutting them with a pair of heavy duty wire cutters and then filed them flat with a file. I modded them while they where not in the board.
    4. Check for fit and location of the mounting holes in relation to the stand-offs.
    5. If all looks OK , then pull the board back out of the case, install the faceplate.
    6. Install the cpu, heatsink/fan, and memory WHILE THE BOARD IS ON THE ANTI-STATIC PAD THAT IT SHIPPED WITH. In fact anytime you have the board out of the bag it shipped in, unless it is in the case place it on this pad.
    7. Connect the small wires to the pin-outs for power switch, reset, hard drive LED, power LED, then gently put the board back into the case. Line up the screwholes, (NOTE: You should have to press the board towards the back of the case against the faceplate to get them to line up ) then put in the center, back screw with one of the supplied fiber washers , You may have to slightly magnetize the screwdriver itself to hold the screw to the screwdriver , you can do this by rubbing the point against the magnet part of a speaker. DON'T TIGHTEN THE SCREW ALL THE WAY, Lightly snug it then back off 1/2 to 1 turn.
    8. Install the remaining 5 screws in the same manner. Making sure that the connectors behind the faceplate shield are not blocked.
    8. Tighten the screws, NOT TOO TIGHT, you don't want to crack the board. Then you can plug in all your cables ATX Power, hard drive, cd, floppy, etc...Go by the manual, pin 1(red stripe on ribbon cables) for most are towards the back of the case. If you have a hefty cooling fan for your cpu DON'T plug it into the motherboard (usually only supports .5A) use a MOLEX connector ( 4-wire type like for your hard drive and cd).
    9. Power up and have fun.

  • When I try to install extensions into Dreamweaver CC, I get the following dialogue box in the Extens

When I try to install extensions into Dreamweaver CC, I get the following dialogue box in the Extension Manager CC:
"Failed to update database. The extension will not be installed."
    What may the problem be?

    Good day to all,
The problem that we were having was caused by a case difference between two folders, like Carl pointed out. The line that created the issue was written like this:
    <file source="File1.htm" destination="$dreamweaver/Configuration/Shared/MyExtensions"  />
    <file source="File2.htm" destination="$dreamweaver/Configuration/Shared/myExtensions"  />
The correct folder was with an upper case ("MyExtensions").
The extensions are now installing correctly however it seems to take significantly longer to install than on previous versions of EM (even previous version of EM CC). Has anyone been experiencing the same long install time? This only happens on Windows OS. On Mac the extension is installed pretty fast.
Any idea how I could lower the install time? We do have a long list of files. Maybe try to use only folders instead of individual files?
    Cheers,
    Andrei

  • How do I install memory into the Pavilion 17z-F2 series laptops?

How do I install memory into the Pavilion 17z-F (17z-F200, product L2H13AV) series laptops?
HP appears to have no maintenance guide available for this model series. What's up with that?
Please, do not offer the generic (and out-of-date) Pavilion 17 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. It does not appear to apply to the 17z-F series. This guide instructs to remove the bottom service panel which I could have figured that out on my own. However, the 17z-F series does not appear to have any removable panels at all. I took an up-close look at the Pavilion 17z-F100. And, it does not have any removable panels on the underside, except for the battery. So, I presume the 17z-F200 to be the same.
I am a computer technician. And, this is the first laptop I have seen without any service panels. I am probably going to have to disassemble the entire outer-shell to install memory (or to replace the hard disk drive once the time comes). But, every laptop I have worked on in the past had its own special array of hidden screws or special tricks for disassembly. So, having a maintenance guide is a necessity to avoid damaging plastic mounts, clips, guides, etc.
    This question was solved.

    How about this one:
    Pavilion 17z Manual
Don't get me started on this. It's one of my pet peeves, too. HP is not the only one doing this. Acer and Toshiba, etc. also are selling "closed" systems now. I hate it. I will absolutely never knowingly buy one but I am spending a lot of time here answering questions just like this. Good luck and let us know how you do. Sounds like you will be fine.

  • Hello, My computer crashed, I removed the hard drive and installed it into a hard drive enclosure and now I am trying to get my Thunderbird data off of it

    Hello,
Thank you for taking a look at my problem. My Windows computer crashed so I removed the hard drive and installed it into a hard drive enclosure and connected it to my new Windows computer with a USB cord. I installed Mozilla Thunderbird on my new computer and read the different tutorials on this website for extracting data from the external hard drive and installing it on my new computer however I cannot seem to be able to find the files that I need and quite frankly I do not know how to move them once I do find them. I even tried MozBackup but it could not find the files either. I searched for profiles.ini in the hard drive and the only hit I got was a profiles.ini file that was 111 bytes in size. I assumed that this was not what I was looking for but I did save a copy on my desktop. If someone has experience with moving files from a hard drive to a new computer I would be grateful for the help.
    Thanks,
    AN

lets get with the program. Mozbackup is useless in this situation because it looks for your profile in the location Thunderbird says it is.
You biggest hurdle is probably setting windows to show system and hidden files. The %appdata% folders are hidden by windows.

How do I install memory into the Pavilion 17z-F200 (part L2H13AV)?
HP appears to have no maintenance guide available for this model. What's up with that?
I took a look at the Pavilion 17z-F100 (sent by mistake). It does not have any removable panels on the underside. And, the User Guide for the 17z-F200 indicates that it will be the same (assuming it ever arrives).

  • Do I need to provide the physcial hostname to iAS during installation or can I just that installed name into the /etc/hosts file?

    Hi,
Pls confirm if you are using Windows 2000 Pro, in this O/S the
hostname is the name of the computer itself. Check the
    MyComputer->Properties->Network Identification->Properties, the name you
find under the computer name will be automatically taken while
installation, if it doesn't then there is some error. However the
C:\Winnt\System32\Drivers\Etc\hosts doesn't matter much while installing
iAS 6.0 SP1 or above. Hope this helps

  • Install Portal into remote 9.2.0.3.1 database

Has any successfully installed portal into a remote 9.2.0.3.1 database? My O/S is Windows 2000. I've got IAS Rel 2 9.0.2.0.1 installed and patched up to 9.0.2.2 I've been working with MetaLink, but so far they haven't been able to solve the problem. The issue is that the DAD will not work. Everything appears to install correctly, but after creating the DAD and bouncing the http server, the DAD won't come up. Yes, I can connect with sqlplus, yes there are valid tns entries. I've even created a DAD to my existing portal30 install in my 8i database and that works. Its just this 9i install that refuses to work.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

I turned on debugging in the DAD and this is the message:
    Database Log In Failed
TNS is unable to connect to destination. Invalid TNS address supplied or destination is not listening. This error can also occur because of underlying network transport problems.
Verify that the TNS name in the connectstring entry of the DAD for this URL is valid and the database listener is running.

  • How can I install presets into Lightroom 4.4 64 bits?

How can I install presets into lightroom 4.4 64 bits?

Hard to know where the ball got dropped without details.
I suggest creating a new "test" preset in Lightroom, then make sure you can find it in OS (Finder/Explorer).
Wherever you found it - that's the folder your other presets should be in. If they are already in that folder, then the preset files are not copacetic somehow (e.g. not compatible type).
    they should end with .lrtemplate

    Hi,
9iFS must be installed in an 9i home type. So you must have it installed in a single box in your 9i DB home. You must use the Apache server of the DB, because the installer will modify the configuration files of this Apache, not this of 9iAS.
After just modify the port the 9i apache is listening (use 81 instead of 80 for example).
Be careful that if you install a new apache for the 9i database, your vw_gateway_cfg environment variable will be changed and will point to the 9i home instead of the 9ias home. So you have to change it back to your 9iAS home if you want to use the portal !!!!

I have not been able to install iTunes into my new Windows 8 laptop.

Are you downloading the latest iTunes from apple's site? I ahve it on my laptop and it works, so it's not a total incompatibility issue, just an individual one.
Is your windows a 64 bit system? If so are you tring to install the right version? Or does it give you any explanations or error codes when you try to install it?
