Installing multiple final cut pro

Can someone explain how I could successfully install 12 licensed copies of Final Cut Pro on 12 MBPros?  I was wanting to pay for the software by using one iTunes/App Store account.

I don't know anything about the purchase of multiple licenses but once you have downloaded FCP X you can simply copy it across to the other computers as the app is "self-contained" unlike FCP 7.

  • Final Cut Studio Pro 2 Install - Skip Final Cut Pro itself - TT_NEWALREADYI

    Dear All,
I hope you can help. I have just bought a new Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM, with OS X 10.4.10 running. It came with iLife 08.
I installed Logic Studio 8 (which was successful), and have been trying to install my copy of Final Cut Studio 2. When I run the installation, the options appear for custom install, but FInal Cut Pro, Compressor and QMaster are greyed out, and the action identified for them is "skip. If I rest the mouse over any of the options the text TT_NEWERALREADYINSTALLED appears.
I have tried uninstalling the Logic Studio components with AppZapper, and retrying the install of Final Cut Studio, but no matter what I try to do, it won't install Final Cut Pro.
    Can anybody help?
    Kind Regards,
    Nick.

  • Are the Apple ProRes Codec's already installed in Final Cut Pro X or do I have to download them separately

I am new to Final Cut Pro.  I recently bought Final Cut Pro X.  Enjoying it.  I cannot seem to find anywhere if the Apple ProRes family of codec come included in Final Cut Pro X or do I have to buy and download them separately?
    I have 10.08.5 operating system

That it works in iMovie is irrelevant to FCP. Has nothing to do with ProRes codecs. Absolute crap web site. Zero information about the media these things shoot. Absolute incompetence.
    From their web site:
Depending on what computer system you are operating on - Mac or PC, we can suggest a few video editing software packages:
If you're taking your first steps in video editing, iMovie (iOS) or Sony MoviEZ (windows), will be good options. Both are fairly simple to use, don't require you to convert your files, and are either free or very affordable.
Windows Movie Maker is another free option, but requires you to convert your files to a different format, such as .wmv.
Quicktime pro is the next step, and although it isn't free, it's very affordable.
Sony Vegas Pro (windows), and Adobe Final Cut Pro/Premiere (iOS/windows) are great options at the more professional end of the spectrum. These are fairly expensive, and are most suitable for users with a reasonable level of editing experience.
Say what? Adobe Final Cut Pro?
Maybe if you can open one of these files in the QT player you could get some real information about this media.

  • Need Help with install of Final Cut Pro HD

    Hi
I am tryting to install FCP Express HD on my G4 Ibook and I get a strange error message. It was able to instaLL fine but when I got to run the program I get this message
Can't install unable to find easy setup file please reinstall and try again.
I have uninstalled and resinstalled 2x any ideas
    Ibook g4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Make sure you uninstall all the components of Final Cut. Do a search on your Finder. Then install from the installation disc. If this doesn't work you should contact Apple for help with installation issues. The disc may be defective.

  • Instal;ling final cut pro version 5.1

Does any one know how to stall Final Cut Studio v 5.1 on a OS X 10.9.2. It was orginally made for a 10.7 or 10.6. when I put the installation disk in it just spits it out without opening or reading anything. please help

When the drive just spits the disc back out, it's a "read" problem. Final Cut Studio v 5.1is a U/B so it should have no problem installing on a new Mac, but only if the disc will remain in the drive.
Does it spit out anything else, or just this one disc?

  • New MacBook Pro 7.1 doesn't install final cut pro studio

I bought a new macbook pro 13' last week. When I tried to install the final cut pro studio, an alert window popped up saying that my mackbook doesn't have the required hardware to support the final cut pro. Can any one please help me on that?

FCP 5.0.4 is not compatible with Intel Macs.
If you have that version, then you need to upgrade to FC Studio 3, which is compatible with Intel Macs.
FCP 5.1.4 is compatible, but you'll need at least FCP 6.0.x to run with Snow Leopard.
Expect to pay about $250.00 for the upgrade if you shop.

  • Installing Final Cut Pro

I want to install final cut pro at home, but I just want the basics that will allow me to edit a home movie and burn it to disc. Can I just install the final cut pro application or do I need anything else, ie studio pro, compressor, motion, etc?'
    Thanks.

Of the Final Cut Studio applications, these titles will do what you describe:
    Final Cut Pro
    Compressor
    DVD Studio Pro
But have you considered using FCE or iMovie/iDVD? Might be more what you're looking for and much cheaper.

  • How do I de-install Final Cut Pro X

    Hi,
I installed FCP X when it came out... unfortuantly on the same drive as FCP7... which since the install of Final Cut Pro X seems more buggy than before... I just dumped the new FCP X in the trash, but was wondering if there is a more proper way to de-install it?
Am currently working on moving all my projects to Premiere Pro, but would still be nice to have a fully functional FCP7.
    Cheers,
    Kai

Trashing the app appears to be the normal way as there are not loads of hidden files like FCP 7.
However, you could try FCS Remover which has been updated to deal with FCP X.

  • How I Install Final Cut Pro 6 on my Mac Pro with Final Cut Express 3?

Any recomendations with the data, previous edits etc?

I think he's asking about problems one might expect when installing both Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express on the same computer. I assume he's also asking if he'll be able to move files from FCE to FCP without problem. And maybe move them back?
    That's my guess.

  • HV30 24p 30p and Final Cut Pro

Hi I am planning on buying a Canon HV30 in about 2 to 3 weeks.
    I have a MacBook Unibody
    2.4GHz
    1GHz FSB
    4GB Ram
    320 GB HD
500 GB External HD "USB and FireWire"
    Final Cut Studio 2
This is for Family events and fun stuff.
Well since my Mac no longer has FireWire I am buying a MacMini to use to import.
I asked what I should get for specs and now know thanks to "Shake 'n' Bake"
I am going to use the MacMini to Capture my footage directly onto my external HD.
"I will most likely use the mini for other things"
I will edit the captured footage on my MacBook
Question 1: What should the settings be on the HV30?
Question 2: Should I install Just Final Cut Pro onto the Mini for capturing?
    If Yes
Question 3: What capture settings should I use for 24p?
Question 4: What capture settings should I use for 30p?
Question 5: What capture settings should I use for 60i?
Question 6: Should I use ProRes or is the HDV the actual tape format. And which is better?
Question 7: What should the settings be set to on log and capture?
Question 8: How do I convert the 24p to real 24p?
Question 9: How do I convert the 30p to real 30p?

Another thing to bear in mind is that you should not believe automatically what others tell you however qualified they are!
What suits them and their equipment etc. may not be best for you.
You should always test everything yourself.
To test a technique you only need to shoot a minute or so of video, capture it, slap in a couple of transitions and effects and burn to DVD. I keep some re-writable DVDs specifically for testing as I can use them over and over again.
Make sure your minute of video contains static and moving shots together with camera pans.
This is essential to spot problems because a static shot may produce a beautiful result on a DVD whilst a moving one may be full of jitter and judder all caused by your camera setting, editing methods or DVD burning.
A test like I have outlined can go from shooting to DVD in under 15 minutes.
I would suggest testing your camera's interlaced and progressive modes, together with editing raw HDV and Pro-res etc.
This way, in a very short time you will have definitive answers as to which techniques suit you best.

  • FINAL CUT PRO 7 - Please Help!

Suddenly my final cut pro project is unreadable -- the clips on the timeline are now grey and they don't show on the viewer anymore. The audio is inaudible, except for some weird cracking sounds. What is going on?? Please help me!

    Hey Cecilia153,
Thanks for the question. In troubleshooting this issue, a great place to start would be to delete the user preferences:

Remove receipts and reinstall Final Cut Pro
Another approach you might consider is reinstalling Final Cut Pro 7. To do this effectively, you need to remove the application and its receipts, then install Final Cut Pro 7 and use Software Update to install additional updates. You don't have to remove everything that was installed with Final Cut Pro 7. Follow the steps below to completely reinstall a fresh copy of Final Cut Pro 7.
Next, see if you can locate the media in Finder and attempt to open it with Quicktime. If the media is not damaged, and plays fine, you might need to reconnect it to Final Cut Pro:
Final Cut Pro 7 User Manual: Reconnecting Clips to Media Files
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=92%2 6section=6%26tasks=true
    Reconnecting Clips to Media Files
Clips in your project don’t have to be offline for you to use the Reconnect Media command. You can reconnect media files to clips in your project at any time, since all you are doing is changing the file path stored in the clip’s Source property.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • How do I uninstall Final Cut Pro 5 Suite?

I've never actually tried to uninstall this suite, so I may be overlooking something obvious. I tried opening the install package and looking for an option there, but no luck - and the document on Apple's site that should instruct me on how to do this seems to be missing.
    Does anyone have any tips?

one of the support articles includes these notes:
Another approach you might consider is reinstalling Final Cut Pro. To do this effectively, you need to remove the application and its receipts, then install Final Cut Pro and use Software Update to install additional updates. You don't have to remove everything that was installed with Final Cut Pro. Follow the steps below to completely reinstall a fresh copy of Final Cut Pro. Note: Make sure that you have your installation discs and serial number handy before starting this.
    Open the Applications folder.
Drag the Final Cut Pro application to the Trash.
    Go to /Library/Receipts.
In the Receipts folder, select the "FinalCutPro.pkg" file.
Choose View > as List to view the contents in a list.
Click the Date Modified column header so you can easily see all of the receipts that were installed at the same time as Final Cut Pro.
Drag the FinalCutPro.pkg receipt to the Trash, as well as any other items that have the same modification date within 3 minutes of the FinalCutPro.pkg's modification date.
Click the Name column header to sort the list alphabetically.
Drag any other receipts whose names begin with "Final Cut Pro" to the Trash.
Insert your Final Cut Pro installation disc and install Final Cut Pro.
When finished, use Software Update (under the Apple menu) to update your software to the latest version.
For further information on settings or installation, please refer to the Final Cut Pro documentation available on your installation discs.
    Hope that helps

  • Final Cut Pro P2 Card Data

So, I am working on a nice big project. All the footage was shot on P2 Cards and these cards were backed up to an external HD. Now I need to convert these P2 Card files to MPEG 4, or some other more commonly used format to give to others.
Will Final Cut Studio 2 be able to do that?

The only HD codec that FCE will recognize is Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC). However, the codecs needed to read P2 files is installed with Final Cut Pro. I've personally never used P2, so I don't know of any 3rd party software that provides the P2 Codec. Also since I've never used a P2 camera before, I wonder if its possible to put it into VTR mode and have Final Cut Express do the transcode to AIC.
Another thing to keep in mind, FCE doesn't support timecode (or so I've read).
You'd be better off asking this question in the FCE forum.
