Installing my osx moutain lion on my mac failed, how can i eraise it and go back to my snow leopard
Installing my new OSX Mountain Lion upgade failed, now i lost the use of my computer, how can i get back to my snow leopard and forget about downloading the M.l. just want my service back, just going on a loop dosen't let me get out of it please help
In order to go back, you need to wipe the drive. So, if you have a bootable clone, boot from it, wipe your drive, and clone your old Snow Leopard system back.
If not, but you have the SL install disks, boot from that disk, wipe the drive, and reinstall SL.
Make sure you have a backup of all your stuff.

your computer has what is called a recovery partition that came with it.
simply hold cmd+R while you boot up. let go a second after you hear the chime.
you will boot into the recovery partition.
Use disk utlity to format your usb drive and then exit Disk utlity and go to Reinstall Mountain Lion.
it will ask you which disk you want to install ML onto. Choose your new USB drive.

What machine are you running on?
As far as I recall, Snow Leopard's memory requirements were 1GB of RAM. All Intel-based Macs have shipped with at least that much, so I don't understand how you have a machine that doesn't have enough memory. -
Trying to upgrade to Lion on my 20" iMac that I bought in Nov. 2007. Currently I'm running on MAC OS X version 10.6.8. When I tried to buy the upgrade I got a response that Lion requires 2 GB of memory and I only have 1 GB. How can I get more memory and will my computer be compatible with Lion when I do get more memory?
Yes you can install more RAM. Up to 6 GBs. Two - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMMs. For the maximum use one 4 GB and one 2 GB. Otherwise install a pair of 2 GB modules for a total of 4 GBs.
You can purchase suitable RAM at DataMem or OWC. OWC also has video tutorials on installation. -

1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files. -

How can I take lion off of my MacBook Pro because it has too much problems with the new operating system, I have talked to Apple support for both computers and still nothing happens I think they know that there's something wrong and they don't know how to fix it are there working on fixing it. So how can I put snow leopard Mac on my computer so that it works every time, there's a lot of good features in Lion but there's a lot of bad features and especially when it comes to turning on your computer and the memory that it has held so if one item is missing then it doesn't work and you have to reboot the computer to get it to work but I still like my Mac.

TS4002 iCloud for email is not on my Mac. How can I get email and iCal to sync with iphone and ipad.
iCloud for email is not on my Mac. It should be under Internet and wireless in System Preferences but it is not. Basically I am trying to get iCloud running successfully on my Mac for email and Calendar so that it will sync with my iPad and iPhone. I was an MobilMe customer and I've been having trouble with this conversion to iCloud. Thanks.
I too was a mobileme user and have just migrated to iCloud on mackbook pro w/OS 10.7.4. Transition caused my sent mailboxes to rearrange themselves so that I have no comprehensive 'sent' mailbox as I did previously and the view on both incoming and outgoing mailboxes keeps rearranging itself no matter how many times I set preferences. One result is that search function no longer works. Is anyone else having problems like this? All was fine for a week after transition but after having an evening when my password was repeatedly rejected I had to log in and out of iCloud (as directed by tech support) and w/in an hour or so the mailbox problem began.

Insert the Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, restart with the C key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase or repartition the internal drive if needed, and install Mac OS X 10.6 onto a blank partition.
If you have a Time Machine backup or bootable clone of 10.6, you can restore that instead of installing a new OS.

Music is not included in the iPhone backup. What would be the point. ALL of the music should already be in your iTunes library. -

Mt Lion will not install on all Mac's. There are some that can run Lion but can not run Mt Lion. You may have one of those.
How are trying to do the install. Need more info on the Mac you have and how and where you got Mt Lion. -

i guess you could put the aiport utility app on your iphone, click on the aiport express there, it will show you how many devices are connected to it and the mac addresses of those devices.

I backed up my entire hard-drive of my macbook pro - just prior to installing osx mountain lion.
I put everything into a folder on my desktop - then backed it up onto an external drive. Once this was done - i deleted the folder off my desktop - and following this - things started to go all weird...pages hanging, the coloured 'wheel of death' appeared for ages. So i had to employ a 'hard-boot' restart - as i had not other options.
I'm pretty sure i made copies of of files/apps/folders etc - however not so sure now as i cant even start up my laptop!!!
Can somebosy please help me urgently??!!!Got the exact same problem, and I also did this operation many times before, from 500Gb to 750Gb, and then from 750Gb to 1 Gb. Not My HD got a little such complaining about bad sectors when in windows bootcamp, but still runs fine though.
So I bought a new 1Gb drive exactly same drive as the one thats getting sick. I did the clone thing, with super duper, CCC, DU, but no matter it will not boot when i move the new drive inside the macbook…….**** thing exuse me, but wasted so much time.
Now I get this strange feeling that something must have changed in the macbook itself. Just wondering if this could be a EFI "mac bios" prevention thing, they made just to sell more new computers, when you can't improve or fix your old one.
If so, then its pretty scary. If not then I simply can't figure out why this suddenly becomes a problem for so many people, as I see so many posts about this!!

You have to purchase Mountain Lion for the other Mac. That's because the Mountain Lion license that comes with the MacBook Air only allows you to install it in this MacBook Air.

I write in greek as well as english on my mac (osx mountain lion) problem is, there is no spell checking on pages, and yes, i have added a greek dictionary in the library spelling folder. and i can also select it from the inspector. what's wrong?
You need to give more details:
1. What version of Pages?
2. Where did you get the Greek dictionary from and exactly how did you install it?
3. Are you applying the language to your text?
