Installing my printer hp psc2500 wireless to my new macbook pro air

I am able to use printer by connecting it with a USB cord but cannot get my wireless network to connect.  I use AT&T U-Verse. thank you

Does the printer show up on the left side when you go to System Preferences > Print & Scan?
If YES then I would highlight your printer name on the left, then go to the bottom of that window and hit the "-" sign to remove it. Then hit "+" and see if the computer can find the appropriate driver for the printer.
Also there are very specific steps in the Setup Guide. Did you follow them exactly? You're not supposed to connect the printer to anything until Step 5.

Tina Hadley did you migrate/transfer your applications over to your new Macintosh?  If so this could cause problems with your serial number being recognized.  Please run the available uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Once this is done you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool.  Details on the use of the CC Cleaner Tool can be found at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

  • Can I install an earlier version of Bootcamp on my new Macbook Pro so that I can dual boot to XP rather than Windows 7??

I have a new MacBook Pro and would like to dual boot ot XP. Is this possible using the Bootcamp version that comes with it? I wonder whether Apple have XP drivers for the new MacBook or if they have only developed those for Windows 7? Thanks in advance!

Just install XP into a Virtual Machine. Like VMware Fusion, Parallels or Virtual Box.
Then you can run both OS X & XP at the same time. No need to dual boot with XP as it doesn't use that many rsources and runs fine in a VM.

  • Installing Windows XP on VM Fusion on a new MacBook Pro.

I hope that I didn't just mess myself up and lose $151.00. While waiting... and waiting... waiting for my new MacBook Pro, I decided to order VM Fusion and Windows XP to install on it when it arrives. I know NOTHING about Windows. I got VM Fusion from Apple. But, I kept running into problems ordering Windows XP. I didn't know which "version" to order. I kept finding versions which said "upgrade." I'm not upgrading from an older Windows OS. So, I figured that one would not work for me. Then, I kept running into a problem with retailers saying they do not have any Windows XP software available, because Microsoft does not distribute it anymore. I finally found it available at Tiger Direct and ordered it for $149 plus shipping. Well, it came and it says OEM version (NOT returnable for ANY reason.) What does that mean? Will it work for me? All I need it for is to enable me to use IE 7 on my Mac, as so many sites will not allow Macs to access them.

    Hi chenderson22,
OEM version of Windows that are not manufacturer-branded (like from Dell, Compaq, HP and the like) usually work very well with Macs whether vis BootCamp or via Fusion (Parallels, VirtualBox).
Manufacturer-branded versions of Windows usually only work on the same computer they were originally sold with.
So, if your OEM version has no other manufacturer name on it than Microsoft, you're clear to go ahead.
    Take care

  • Trouble after installing a time machine back up on my new macbook pro

The time machine back up actually worked well.  The issue is that the new mac is a macbook pro and the time machine install was from a mid 2009 Macbook air.   It is saying that the mail program cannot be used on the operating system.   I would assume it has installed an old mail program on my new machine and that is the issue.  The machine does not come with a cd to install the upgraded mail so how do I fix this issue?

I accidentally bypassed the restore from Time capsule portion when I first started the computer so had to do this.
You actually don't want to do this.  The hardware in your new MacBook Pro is significantly different from your 2009 Air.  You may end up with stability issues and potentially a system that won't even boot into the OS.  Podini's suggestion is best.

  • Wireless instability in new  Macbook pro (late 2008) (uniblock model)

I have been experiencing the same kind of instability problems with the wireless connections of the new Macbook pro (late 2008 "unibody") reported in other posts in this section.
My network configuration includes a Time Capsule base station(802.11n (802.11b/g compatible)) and an Airport Express(802.11n) that extends the network and is used mostly for wireless music feeding into sound equipment.
I have been using this network for months with my old MBP (Core Duo,15.4', 2.16 MHz) and it works perfectly. From that notebook iTunes recognizes the Airport express immediately and feeds music without any problems.
I transferred all my configuration to the new Macbook Pro (late 2008 - which is indeed a beautiful piece of hardware, exquisitely designed) and everything works perfectly... except the wireless connection.
It behaves quite unstably. Usually, it is necessary to turn airport off and on several times in the computer to get iTunes to connect to the Airport Express. Even then, the music stream suffers from frequent interruptions and suddenly gets in trouble and looses connection.
While iTunes is trying to reconnect to the Airport Express, usually the internet connection fails altogether, making it necessary to turn airport off and on in the notebook to restart all the wireless connections.
All along, the old MBP wireless connections behave perfectly, proving the problem is in the new Macbook (late 2008) and not in the network.
I have loaded all the firmware and software updates available in the Apple site, and the behaviour improved somewhat with the EFI firmware update 1.6 and SMC firmware update 1.2. I also reset the SMC.
However, the problem is still there and appears now and then seemingly without a pattern.

Folks: *there may be a power/signal issue going on here.* I had a similar problem of my network connection dragging to practically nothing when hooking up my LaCie external drive to the USB port. Please see my post below (link and text)
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9914924#9914924
    Folks:
Apple needs to get on this issue fast; after turning off my N mode on my WRT160N Linksys Router, I got my packet speed back up to where it should be... HOWEVER I noticed another problem.
When I hooked up my LaCie external drive (connected via USB), my packets on PING practically stall to nothing. I then eject the external USB drive and re-ping and I get acceptable packet speeds; I re-connect the LaCie external drive to the USB port and my PING crawls to nothing.
There is CLEARLY a correlation between the network speed crawling to nothing while hooking up an external drive; possibly a power sink and/or signal interference on the Airport when hooking up a USB device? (or perhaps even Firewire 800 too?)
I sure hope Apple is reading this one, because this could be a MAJOR issue that needs to be fixed ASAP.

  • Wireless and my new Macbook pro!

I have purchased a Macbook pro and am researching into wireless possibilities.
I have a netgear wired router (the DG834) and on the box it sais that it is recommended that I purchase the "netgear wg602" wireless access point for me to wirelessly use the internet around the house. ALL four of the RJ45 slots on my wired router have been taken up by my 4 computers. So typically I would lose one, if I went for the access point and it connected via one of the RJ45's?
Would this access point be picked up by the macbook pro and will it work?
Also on this access point how does it connect to my router - RJ45 or USB maybe?
Or should I just part with double the cost and buy the "DG834G" which has 54mbps wireless "g" built in?
And would that be okay in a medium sized house? Does the reception decrease when passing through multiple walls?
There is also a "DG834GT" which is 108mbps compatible, but the airport card in the macbook pro sais that its 54mbps, would there be any point me shelling out extra for this wireless router? Would there be an advantage?
    Thanks!

WG602 would work, but may not be what you want:
    * to connect 4 computers and wireless you would need another hub or switch since you're out of slots. It's probably easier to replace the router with a wireless router. You're right that the WG602 would take one of the RJ45 slots.
    * distance and obstacles (e.g. walls) both interfere with the signal. As you get further away and go through more walls you'll get lower speed and maybe even intermittent results.
    * there are several technologies that go faster than 54 Mbps. Of course you don't get that extra speed with a conventional 11g client such as the MBP, although they will talk to an 11g client. According to reviews by Tomsnetworking.com some of them go slower than a normal 11g AP when talking to an 11g client. Both those reviews and my experience suggest that you consider using an access point that uses Airgo MIMO technology. It uses multiple antennas and beam stearing to improve reception, even with a normal 11g client. (However you don't want to mix 11g and higher speed clients.) I use a Netgear Rangemax 240. It gets more consistent results through 2 walls than the Airport Extreme Base Station.

  • Installing an old version of Logic on a new Macbook Pro

I just purchased a Macbook Pro 13" non-retina and would like to know if (and how) I can install an old version of Logic Pro, such as Logic Pro 9 rather than the latest version, which is Logic Pro X.

It depends on which version of LP9 you own.....
If you don't already own an earlier version you cannot buy Logic Pro 9 any longer from Apple.. It is discontinued....
If you do own an earlier version then...
App Store version? Just sign into the Mac App Store... using the same Apple ID you used to purchase Logic in the first place...and Logic Pro 9 will be found under the Purchase Tab for you to click on and download..
DVD Version? Install via DVDs .... If you don't have a DVD player in your Mac you will need to purchase an external one.... or use another Mac which has a DVD drive using Remote Disk
DVD or CD sharing: Using Remote Disc
    Install....
Do not run Logic but instead....
Update to 9.1.8 via this link....
    Logic Pro 9.1.8
    Now launch Logic....

  • How to install Mountain Lion on New Macbook Pro from APPS

How can I install Mountain Lion into a VM on a New Macbook Pro running YOSEMITE  from APPS
I have it in my apps purchased but It tells me the system is to New to download/run it
I have tried mounting my install ESD copy but it has the same Problem
    I don't have another Mac
    Thanks

I think the problem is that you can't install an older OS X version onto a system running a newer OS X version. So I would try the following:
         1. have an external disk or create another partition on an internal drive to use for the Mountain Lion install (you might have to shrink an existing partition to make room for another)
         2. Create an external bootable USB thumb drive with the Mountain Lion OS on it (do a search on the web for this - for example see http://www.macworld.com/article/1167857/how_to_make_a_bootable_mountain_lion_ins tall_drive.html
         3. Reboot Yosemite and then boot from the USB thumb drive by holding down the option key
         4. run the mountain lion installer and install on the new disk/partition you created in step 1 - it will also create another recovery partition from this same part of the disk
Now your Mac system will have both a Mountain Lion install as well as the Yosemite install. You won't be able to use Migration Assistant to move things from Yosemite to Mountain Lion because it will see that you're "going backwards" and won't allow you to.
Have a good backup of everything before starting in case there are problems.
    Good luck...

  • LP8 won't install on my new macbook pro (ver 10.8.4).

I purchased LP8 a couple years ago, installed it on my desktop, then purchased and installed the upgrade to LP9 when that came out. (My desktop is the only computer that I've installed LP on).
I just bought a new Macbook Pro running OS X (ver. 10.8.4), however, when I tried installing LP8, the macbook wouldn't install b/c the program was too old and is therefore incompatible.
I don't have to purchase an entire new set of LP in order to get it on my new laptop, do I? I still have plenty of those LP ugrade coupons left, so I don't want to re-purchase the DAW.
    Thanks...

Sorry, but when Logic Pro 8 was released (2007) 10.5 was the most current OS X version. We are now at 10.8 and that OS doesn't support some of the old applications anymore. 6 years have passed since.

I have an Epson printer on a Wifi network. Windows 7 desktop is running the network, and my wife's HP Win 7 laptop prints to it just fine. My MacBook Pro running Yosemite won't detect it, and I do have the latest driver installed. I didn't have a problem when I had a Canon Pixma on the network, but when I replaced it with the Epson nothing seems to work. I go to add a printer to the queue and only the FAX function of the printer shows up - not the WS-4530 print function. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?  Please??? :-)

    Hi Kelly,
As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.
I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
