Installing new CS5 over trail version

Should one uninstall the trial version of CS5 and install the CD or can one just type in the new S/N from the CD and it's a done deal?

Does a Photoshop STANDARD serial number work with a Photoshop ENHANCED trial? In this case, I would expect the additional features to be removed/locked out.
Meanwhile, time to order the boxed upgrade.

Doesn't matter. The order is up to you and whether or not you uninstall CS3 is up to you.
CS5 will install into a separate folder to CS3 so you'll be able to run both.

Hello. I have a friend who never updates anything on her older Mac and has a 1. number something Safari browser. (It has a Mac OS X, not sure what version.) I tried to update it from Apple's website, but a message appeared saying it might be a bogus website to which I was referred. 1) could machine be infected? 2) is there any special step to downloading a newer browser over an older one? 3) do you recommend any free program to search out infections first? (she will retrieve the OS X disk so I can give her a new user account password since she's forgotten hers).

Open disk utility (should be in your utilities folder), highlight your file, and click on repair permissions. Repair disk is a different process that "fixes" directory problems. That is found by booting from your software install DVD. DO NOT actually run the software install. Rather, select disk utility, highlight your HD, and then run the process.

I have been using Indesign CS3 for generating automated reports. These reports are large in numbers. Limitation with Indesign CS3 is it only allows single instance of the application. And hence I am forced to generate these reports in sequence using multiple servers. Indesign CS5 server on the other hand seems to allow multiple instances running at the same time. This would mean I can generate multiple reports at the same time. This will reduce time to generate these reports and also limit the number of servers. This is the reason I want to migrate from Indesign CS3 to Indesign CS5 server. However, I am not sure if I can get direct upgrade from Indesign CS3 to Indesign CS5 server or I have to buy new license for Indesign CS5 server. Do you have any idea on this, please suggest. Installed new JRE, but old version is still used

I'm running openSUSE 10.3 on a laptop. I just installed JDK 6u3 and JRE 6u3.
When I compile my programs an run them, it says "unsupported class version number". So I typed in "java -version", and it said "Java Version 1.5.0_12".
How do I make it use JRE 6u3 and not JRE 5?
P.S. I can compile the programs using "javac -version 1.4", and then they'll work.

As initially reported there was an unsuccessful upgrade of JDK and JRE due to an unknown problem.
In Linux distributions, links to Java tools resides in the path */usr/bin* and don't need to set any system variable to straight invocate them since this path is included in PATH global system variable.
If thought on the global user variable JAVA_HOME, it is for "applications" and respecting the developer/user knowledge I didn't mention this fact.

Trouble installing cc lightroom over trial version

I downloaded lightroom5 trial version on my MacPro desktop. works great. then I purchased a complete Creative Cloud license.II
I installed everything on my laptop no problems and did not have any trial versions on it.
I installed everything on my desktop but lightroom is still in trial mode with 23 days left. Everything else installed fine.
Now it is not incompatible hardware. Trial is fine.
The CC desktop says lightroom is up to date but it is up above in the CC window not down with installed apps.
I have 107 photos of my grandson's birthday in the trial so, my questions are:
     Do I back up the catalog file and trash lightroom before reinstalling the entire app from CC desktop?
     Maybe there are some prefs I can delete instead?
     how do I protect this last photo shoot?
I assume reinstalling is best. what does adobe look at to determine your up to date or there at all?

I am trying to silent install Acrobat Standard trilal version. I customized the package using Adobe Customization Wizard with leaving blank for the serial key. When I try to install the application silently, it giving me a "error".

Trial version is only provided in Acrobat Professional and not Acrobat Standard. If you need trial, pls. use Acrobat Pro installer instead of Acrobat Standard.

Why should we install new plugins , like updated version of flash as plugins are in the browser so firefox should update it ?

Install new ERP & EP Witch version?

I have to install an ERP and i have that there are 2 version now to order : ERP6 SR3 based on NW7 and EHP4 ERP6 based on NW7.01.
Like the fonctionnal seem to say that we needn't EHP i will choose ERP6 SR3
Fisrt question : if i install the SR3 on withch level of support package i will be ?
I have also to install the SAP Portal.
I have see that the portal exist in 2 version : Netweaver 7 and Netweaver 7.01
What is the version i have to choose? I uspose the functionality are not the same but like i will install ERP6 based on NW 07 i supose i have to install EP based on NW07 too? is it correct?

Hi,
If you don't want to install latest ERP 6.0 EHP4 then install ERP 6.0 SR3 and install it with latest support packages. I always install system with one stack lower than the latest available i.e. n-1 approach.
As far as portal is concerned, since your ECC6.0 is based upon netweaver 700 release then install portal with netweaver 700 release only.

Removing Adobe Acrobat reader 5.0, and installing newer 7.0.9 version

My IMAC with Panther 10.3.9 has Acrobat reader 5.0. This appears in Finder>Applications>Adobe Acrobat reader 5.0 folder. I find that the lastest version of the reader for my system is 7.0.9, per Adobe's website in the reader download section. I downloaded version 7.0.9, which appeared to have occurred without problems. When I went back to Applications>Adobe Acrobat reader 5.0 folder, the folder still indicated 5.0, not 7.0.9. Not convinced 7.0.9 was actually implemented, I moved the Adobe Acrobat 5.0 folder from Applications to Trash. And yes I emptied the trash. I then downloaded 7.0.9 from Adobe's website again. The download again appeared to have occurred correctly. There is no sign of Adobe Acrobat reader 7.0.9 in Applications, nor is the 5.0 folder there since I put it in trash. Why did I want to upgrade the reader version in the first place? Some PDF files that I tried to download wouldn't. This is the first time that I have encountered PDF files that would not download in readable format. The PDF help section of the website indicated I needed the lastest version of Acrobat reader to successfully download the PDF files. Since I did have an older version, the version upgrade was attempted. Where do I go from here?

You were very close to being completely correct. The downloadreader.pkg opened by itself, but what I did not do after that was double click an icon that said Acrobat reader installer. Once I did double click that icon, additional installation activities occurred, and sure enough, Adobe Acrobat reader 7.0.9 now appears in Applications. Thanks.

Tried to install new software 3.0 version on Touch - not working! Help!

OK, so I connected my iPod Touch to my desktop, opened iTunes, purchased the upgrade software for my iPod and it started updating away. It said to keep my iPof connected as it would say when it was done.
Well, it is done but it is still showing that it has the old software even though they deducted the $4.75 from my iTunes account.
Can someone tell me how I can tell if this worked or not and how I can fix this problem? I have a first generation Touch.

Error While Installing CE 7.1 Trial version

I'm getting the following error and the installation stops in step 3 while installing CE 7.1 trail version.
The step createAccounts with step key |CE_DevSystem_App|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_Onehost_System|ind|ind|ind|ind|3|0|NW_Users_Create_Do|ind|ind|ind|ind|4|0|createAccounts was executed with status ERROR .
Before the installation, during the prerequiste verification, I receive the following error and if ignore it, the installations stops after throwing the above exception.

Domain Controller Could not check HIGH Installations on domain controllers are not supported. (Updated 2005-06-24)
I logged in with a local user ID with admin previleages. Its a custom server installation with default settings.
Could anyone faced this issue or help me out?

At least 1, 5 GB RAM, 2 GB are recommended - 2GB RAM
1.5 GHz PC or higher - 2.79 GHz
7 GB free hard disk space - 14 GB on the drive where I'm installing.
Monitor 1024x768 pixels or more, 256 colors - 1280X1024
Internet Access (for CE online documentation) - Not mandatory I believe.
