Installing New Grid & Copy/Migrate Jobs From New Grid

Existing Setup:_
EM Grid Control: 10.2.0.2 Hosted on Windows 2003
Repository Database: 10.2.0.3 Hosted on AIX 5.1
Agent: 10.2.0.2
Monitored Databases/servers: About 90 servers/databases are monitored which are on AIX and having 10g DB version and agant installed in 10.2.0.2
Proposed Setup:_
EM Grid Control: 10.2.0.5 Will be hosted on AIX 6.1
Repository Database: 10.2.0.4 Will be hosted on AIX 6.1 (different server from EM Grid control server)
Agent: 10.2.0.5
Monitored Databases/servers: All the existing servers + Oracle E-business Application
We are planing to install a new grid with option of installing with existing database(New 10.2.0.4 database will be installed). Once new grid start working properly, we will stop old grid.
During this process we don't want to stop/modify/change the existing grid jobs..
So, My questions are:
1) Can we have two agents (both with different OS users and having different AGENT_HOMES) on each server, which will feed to different grids? Old one will be stopped eventually.
2) How we can copy/migrate existing jobs from old grid to new grid ?

  • LCM - copy (promote) jobs from DEV to TEST

    Hi all!
I am searching for a way to copy the LCM jobs (to promote objects from DEV to TEST) from the DEV environment to the TEST environment.
Is there a way to do so? Or do I need to recreate the jobs on the TEST new, when I want to transfer the same objects from TEST to PROD?
    Thanks,
    Hakan

And do you know, how an existing job can be refreshed?
I can create a job where a report is promoted from DEV to TEST. When the report now changes, so that a universe used is changed, the job itself is not updated.
The only way I found is to recreate the job again. If I can solve the refresh problem of a job, I could copy the jobs from DEV to TEST and exchange the logins from DEV -> TEST and from TEST -> PROD.
    ciao Hakan

  • Migrating Jobs from 4.0 to 4.2 using .atl?

    Hi Experts
We recently migrated most  of our  BODS application from v4.0 to v4.2.
We used Repository manager to upgrade our repositories.
We still have one machine which is running BODS 4.0.
My question is that is it possible to migrate jobs from v4.0 to v4.2 without using repository manager i.e exporting these jobs as .atl or xml file and then importing them into BODS 4.2 enviornment.
Please  let me know your views.
    Thank you.

    Hi Ankit,
      Possible? yes.
      Suggested? No.
Try to follow the best practice in order to avoid issues, because if you have a problem during the migration and you call SAP support, they will tell you to follow the standar steps, not the short cut ways.

  • Migrate jobs from one OEM instance to another

    Hi,
We have an OEM 11g dev server, where we are testing and creating many job definitions.
We also have an OEM 10g prod server, that we will soon upgrade to 11g.
Is there a way or a tool to migrate all jobs from the OEM 11g dev server to the OEM 11g prod server?
    thanks

It might be benefiicial to list more detail. What versions of OEM, assuming 10.2.0.5? What version of DB, in our case it was 10.1.0.4.0.
Our path was to export 10.1.0.4 into 11.1.0.7.0, then upgrade to 11.2.0.3.0 which all of our DB's are.
However, from Collaborate and from forums/communities, the consensus was it was better to install OEM 12c from scratch and skip 11g all-together.
So that's where we are. Installed OEM 12c on another server (we wanted to decommision our 10g server anyway).
Running OEM 10g/12c Parallel (Agents on different ports). Configuring as we go. OEM 12c I will say, at least IMHO (In My Humble Opinion) is a a complete difference from OEM 10g (rule-wise). Not that there are no similarities, just how you get there is a lot different.
    Anyway hope this helps!

  • Installing an existing copy of CS3 to new Intel iMac

I want to install CS3 on my new Intel iMac (moving from my almost defunct PPC G5 tower) which will run Snow Leopard.
I understand using the migrate feature may not be a good idea.
Problem is, I have the CS3 upgrade disc. I do have my original CS full version.
Will the CS version install on an Intel Mac? I was planning on installing CS
and then upgrading with my CS3 disk. Will this work? If not please suggest another method.
I have PS7 and CS full install disks and CS2 and CS3 update disks.
    Thanks

You should only need the serial number from the version you upgraded from. If you went from CS to CS3 then have the CS serial and disk handy.
I don't remember if the installer wants you to pop the CS disk in for verification or not.

  • New directory after Migration (/var (from old Mac)

I just set up a new Macbook Pro, and used the Migration Assistant to transfer my data from my old system. Everything went fine and looks good. However, I'm seeing a top level directory on the new HD:
    /var (from old Mac)
I assume it's a copy of the /var directory from the old MBP. My question is - can I safely remove it? It's taking up almost 4gb of space (sure on a 500gb hd that's not much, but if I don't need it...)

    A A P L wrote:
My (hidden) /var is 4+GB and that's normal.
it depends on how big your swap files get and on whether or not you are using safe sleep which tends to create large sleep image files. so for a laptop 4GB /var might be normal. on my mac pro it's around 600MB as I almost never run out of RAM to need swap files and and I don't use safe sleep. another reason it might get too big if you have a runaway log and /var/log grows too much. there is nothing else in /var that should take a lot of space.
But I agree, I would not delete it in case it's just "visible"
OP: IN the Finder, hit Command-Shift-G.
    Type: /private
Get info on the var folder there.
Is it the same as the visible one?
Or, you can Control-click on the Title-bar of the var folder window. The path with show in the drop-down. What does it show?

  • New SCVMM Server - Migrate Database From Current SCVMM Server

The hardware on which our current Virtual Manager 2012 R2/SQL Server environment resides is due for decommission.
Consequently, we are deploying a new physical server on which VMM/SQL will be located.
The new server will have a different host name from the original server.
I need to retain all the configuration etc in our current VMM environment and migrate it to the new server.
Can this be achieved by simply migrating the VMM database to the new server or are there any other steps required?

Yes, you can move your VMM databse to another SQL server, and then use the existing databse option when installing VMM.
    You can look

  • New Mac!  Migrating issue from Tiger to Snow Leopard

I recently bought a new MacBook Pro 15" before I relocated overseas (because I couldn't live without a Mac while I waited for my iMac to be shipped abroad).
During the initial set-up, I used the migration assistant to transfer everything from my iMac (running 10.4) to the MacBook Pro (running 10.6). As expected, the transfer worked perfectly!
Actually, it worked a bit too perfectly because the MacBook Pro now seems to think it is called 'Geoffrey Sharpe's iMac G5'. To make matters worse, I am not yet able to connect to the internet from my apartment so I am writing this from the PC at work.
Is there an account setting somewhere that I will need to change?

Geoff, how did you go about the migration? Did you simply connect the two Macs, open the MBP and follow the initial prompts to 'Migrate From Another Mac'?
Or did you use the Snow Leopard DVD and perform a "Restore System from Backup..."? If so, not necessarily a good idea when you are moving from one Mac to another. See the following:
Mac OS X v10.6: Issues after restoring a Mac from a Time Machine backup made with a different Mac
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3243
Your initial Restore/Migration approach will determine which direction resolving this issue will take. So let us know by answering the questions above. The fact that it thinks it is your iMac points to the possibility that you performed a "Restore System from Backup..." and not a simply migration of your user data and apps.

  • New PC and transfering files from new PC to iPhone4

I have just purchased a new PC, and thus want to change my sync with my iPhone 4 to this computer.  I installed iTunes onto this new computer, and have transfered/added all the files I want into iTunes (everything from my old PC plus some new mp3 files not on the old PC).  In iTunes, I have authorised this new computer with my iPhone. I'm now trying to transfer the files in iTunes from this new PC onto my iPhone, so far without success (when I sync, it still syncs with my old PC).  It is primarily the new mp3 files on this new PC in which I am most interested in getting onto my iPhone.  Thx for any help.

If you are connected to the new PC, how can it be syncing with the old one? When the phone is connected to iTunes, check the Music tab and ensure all the music is checked to sync to the phone. Also, when you first connected the phone to sync music, it should have popped up a warning that it was going to delete all of the content on the phone because it was synced to a different library. That wouldn't matter to you because you have copied the library over, so just let it sync and it will replace the existing data with the new library.

  • New Mac Mini - Migration Assistant Problems, New Mac Mini - Migration Assistant Problems

Ok. So this is the scenario.
I have just bought a brand new Mac Mini and have jut disposed of a MacBook I had since late 2007.
I had been using time machine on the MB and thought this the best way to carry over the photos, music and everything else.
So. I did the last time machine back up prior to the sale and have just booted up the Mini. Admittedly I did skip the 'Transfer Files' box when setting up as I just wanted to get the MM up and running and then use Migration Assistant to bring the files over. After getting going I got MA open and clicked off the applications as I had only a dew from the Mac App Store and knew I could get back from the store afterwards.
So here's the situation. It did draw over the two accounts, mine and my fiancées. The folders which were on my desktop on the MB were just as they were. Claire's account shows too.
    But.
The external WD drive I used for my TM back ups is showing on the desktop as a normal yellow drive, not a green TM. I opened About This Mac and instead of seeing the 105gb that was my account before, it's only showing as a minimal 10 or so. I opened iPhoto and it told me that the current library needs updating.
I will do this if this is what I need to do, but am unsure due to the message saying once it's down it cannot be undone.
    So my Qs.
    Have I messed up somewhere?
Do I just need to update the iPhoto library and then the photos will show?
If I go into TM and tell the mac to use the drive, it will then do a back up but can I then open TM and go back in time to when I was backing up files from the MacBook?
I don't really want to restore the whole drive, but wanted some advice. I've read down thing about 'inheriting' old TM backups, is this roughly what I've been explaining?
    Thanks all!

It seems that every major release of OS X brings changes to the iPhoto Library. Update the library and your images should show up. Your external drive is not showing with a TM icon because you have not designated it as the TM drive in System Preferences > Time Machine. You should be able to inherit the old TM backups when you designate a TM drive.

  • Migrate JOB objects from datastore to another

    Hi all,
Please, how can I migrate JOB objects from datastore to another ???
    Edited by: omar.elid on Dec 6, 2011 12:29 PM

If you are talking about changing the connection / source target database in multiple environments, you can have multiple data store configurations.
You can right click a data store, Edit , Advanaced , Edit. At the top, you have Duplicate configuration / Create New configuration.
Create multiple configurations as per multiple environments and set the Default to "Yes" as per your environment.
For migrating jobs from one repository to another.
    In Designer, go to Tools>Export
In to the "Objects to Export" window, drag and drop the objects that you want to export from the "Local Object Library".
Right click on the export window and choose Export. Give the database credentials of the Target Repository (repository into which you want to export the objects). Click Next, change the Target status of the dependent objects to "Exclude" if you do not want to migrate them.

  • Copying jobs from production to test server

    Hello,
there are some jobs that are run at particular time in the productive system, the same jobs are not available in the test system.
can someone tell me, how can i copy these jobs from productive to test system.
    thanks
    Arun

    Hi,
I dont think SAP has provided any feature to copy job.
Check the details of job scheduled in prodution & goto SM36 in Test system to create your own job with same details.

  • HT4889 Migrating data from one Mac to another using Migration Assistant

    Hi,
I just migrated my data from my old Macbook to my new Macbook Pro. All of the data migrated as my old user, so now i have 2 users on my computer under my name.
I am wondering how I can transfer the data from my old user (on my new computer after migration) to my new user on the new computer. Any thoughts?

    Rachelmischel,
I wouldn't use migration assistant. I recently had to move all of my files from a 2008 macbook to a 2013 macbook air. It took me three days to try multiple attempts with migration assistant. What I did was create a drop box account with my macbook (my macbook air already had drop box installed) and then move files from my macbook into my drop box folder. Once that was completed, I would manually copy my files onto my macbook air. The catch is that you need to be sure your computer sharing is enabled and that you make sure your older macintosh will allow permission to your new macintosh to see its drop box files. Hope that helps!

  • SCCM 2007-2012 migration job

    Hi,
We have an empty SCCM 2012 R2 environment (only testmachines in it).
Now I would like to migrate some first Windows 7 machines by pushing a SCCM 2012 client to it. Therefore first the collections and packages of SCCM 2007 should be migrated.
So I started an SCCM 2012 Collection migration job from SCCM 2007 to 2012:
1.Selected only the Windows 7 collections (only those should be migrated, not the XP ones)
2.selected software assigned to it (it comes from a DFS-share \\ourcompany\share
3.all with default values, except "Enable programs for deployment"
    My questions:
1.It took only 10 minutes to complete (share is 100 GB) but I see now software is not distributed to distribution point.
=> Is that normal? Should I run distribute to distribution point for all packages are rerun migration job with differen values?
    2.After step 1, I can now migrate a Windows 7 computer fro SCCM 2007 to 2012, right?
Everything looks fine to me. There is also the object migration but don't think I need it.Just want to doublecheck.
    Please advise.
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

#1: that's default behavior. Packages are migrated, but not distributed to DPs automatically. That's up to you right now.
#2: yes, but that's independent from step #1. You can install the CM12 client to the clients anytime.
