Installing new iphone stops after 20% of installing process

I tried to install a new iphone 4s,  right out of the box. Buyed a separate phone and a buyed a new sim only card. After activiting the sim card by the provider, putting the in the sim card, unlocking the phone, the installing started. We choose to set back a a back up of a new ipad4. After an half hour the progress status bar of the installing didn't move any more. Waiting a night long did not show any progress any more. What to do now?

Got a tip from friend: pushing the sleep - and home knop at the time for a seconds. System resets and is ready to go.

I want to know how I can get all my stuff from my iPhone 3 to my new iPhone five after I have already set up from new phone?

You can restore a backup of the old device to a new one.  This will erase everything on the new one before restoring, so this may be an issue if you already have data on the new device.
To do a backup of the old device, iTunes is the safest route, in my opinion.  Many users have lost photos when performing a restore from an icloud backup.
An icloud backup does not include everything.  For example, only photos in camera roll are backed up.  Also, music is not backed up since you get it back from itunes and (for purchased music) from the itunes store.
    To restore:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your phone.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your phone is new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

  • HT201371 More Apple id's with the same Touch ID possible? I have two Apple ID's, one for buying apps since the first iPhone and later, one for iCloud. Now with my new iPhone 5s, after installation Touch ID is connected to the iCloud one.

I have 2 Apple ID"s, one for buying app's (since the first iPhone) in the store and another one for operating with iCloud things. Now, after installation/activation of my new iPhone 5s, the Touch ID is connected to the iCloud world. Conclusion, if I like to buy a new app. I still have to fill in the password for the other Apple ID. In the past I asked Apple to may join both, but that seems to be impossible.
    Anyone a solution?

I am logged into the same things on both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro, except for mail. I use a gmail IMAP account and everything there already works on both machines. The iCloud account on my iPhone uses one Apple ID and the one on the Mac uses the second Apple ID.

  • Why I don't have apps in my new iPhone 5s after back from iCloud?

After I back up my new iPhone 5s from iCloud apps store is not showing. It might be for not registering in iTunes in my pc or not upgrading

Apps that you have bought and downloaded are not part of any backup and never have been.  Backups only include user data and some app data, but not the apps themselves.
If you open the iTunes or the App store, you should be able to re-download anything you've already purchased.

  • ITunes will not go past "Welcome to Your New iPhone" screen after multiple attempts of restoring old data of iPhone 5s.

    Hello,
I'm really sorry if this is posted in the wrong place...
So just yesterday, I decided to update my iPhone 5s to the new iOS, 8.1.1 but I did not have any room on my phone due to most of the storage being taken up by "other". I backed up my phone onto iTunes and proceeded to restore the phone to its factory settings. Aftewards, the new iOS was presumably loaded onto my phone through iTunes. When my phone restarted, I clicked "Restore from this backup" and continued. It reloads again and I open my phone and went through the settings. When I got back to what I normally saw, all of the apps but one were gone. My backgrounds, contacts, and photos were there, but my music was gone. I looked back onto iTunes and the "Welcome to Your New iPhone" screen was there again. I restored it to my back up once again, but to no avail. I can't get past the Welcome screen. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm afraid that if I restore again I'll lose the apps I reloaded onto my phone once again.

No. You have no alternative but to plug it into a computer running iTunes and restore it.

  • HT4623 i am totally unable to turn on wifi on my new iphone 4s after updating it to ios 6

this is ridiculous having such issues in ios 6 totally disappointed.

I had to go to apple store and get a new one, after they tried numerous attempts. There is no way to fix an iPhone if it loses onnectivity after doing suggestions listed else where.

  • IPod in iPhone stops after exactly 1min 15secs

When I go to the iPod function in my iPhone and select a song or video to play, it will play exactly 1 minute and 15 seconds of the selected item and then it will go back to the main iPhone screen. I have tried restarting my iPhone and I have also tried removing all of my music and then re-syncing with iTunes. I figured I would try here before I took it to the Apple store, just in case anyone else has encountered the same problem and possibly knows of a way to fix it. Thanks in advance.

As much as it would suck if it were true, I may have an idea what the problem could be...
You know how the iphone 3G has the special headset capability where you can play/pause, & skip or go back a track with various clicks of the button on the heatset? I can't help but wonder if using a headset or cable that just happens to be ever so slightly off, might be causing the iphone to register that a click was made, or several.
I had the problem tonight again while washing dishes and it was connected to my parents little under the cupboard radio thing that happens to have an aux in. Numerous times it would pause in mid-song, and at one point it even skipped a track, which made me wonder if it's somehow registering input of some sort.
Now I don't think I've had a problem since I got my Skullcandy headphones, and paying $90 for a set of headphones just to avoid the problem isn't really realistic for everyone to do...
Just wondering though, has anybody that's had this issue been having it with the stock iphone headphones (with built-in mic)?
in fact, the more that i think about it, the more i'm willing to bet that's the issue... other headphones might be even half a mm off in measurement, which may cause a problem of it hitting the internal part that controls playback/mic

  • How to get the new Primary Key after the Automatic Row Processing (DML)

    Hi,
I have a nice master detail form.
I want, immediately after submitting the page when creating a new record in the master table, that the user may input the associated table (the detail table). For that I have created a branch that goes back to the very same page after creating the record (ie submitting the page with the button Create). In the Action of the branch, i have put P30_FICHE_ID (the item containing the primary key of the master table) with its value : &P30_FICHE_ID.
Unfortunately I see that the item is not populated with the very new primary key. it seems normal becaus after submitting the page the tiem is not populated. This is my question : how to retrieve the newly created primary into the item P30_FICHE_ID in order to begin immediately to add rows to the detail table ?
Hope I'm clear. My english not perfect.
Thank you for your kind help !

    Christian,
After creating Master-detail form, goto your Detail page. In this page you can see one conditonal brach which will point to 'Master' page.
Edit this branch and here you can see this branch fires when request is in 'SAVE,DELETE,CREATE' (in Expression1). Now change the value in Expression1 to 'SAVE,DELETE'. This will do the needful :-)

  • When will the new iphones have 2.1 already on them?

does anyone know the answer to this? and if so, how can i tell before I purchase it?

Doubtful anyone here will have the answer to this.
All new iPhones manufactured after 2.1 was released will have 2.1 pre-installed, but this won't be available until current inventory with the previous firmware version that was pre-installed are depleted.

  • How to get past the Welcome to Your New iPhone Screen?

I recently locked myself out of my iPhone 4S. I decided to backup the phone and try to restore it in order to bypass the lock screen. Now that the iPhone has been wiped, I'm stuck at the Welcome to your new iPhone screen. I have the option to set up as a new iPhone, and restore from backup. After choosing restore from backup, it restores my phone, but the welcome to your new iPhone screen shows up again no matter what I do. Closing iTunes and turning the phone on and off has no results. I currently cannot add new apps, music, movies, anything....via iTunes. Help?

I also had this problem. Read these instructions CAREFULLY before taking action, or everything will be ruined. To get past this screen, select Set Up New iPhone.  After that, it will bring you to the iTunes store screen. At the top of the screen there will be a loading bar. At the end of the bar, there should be an x for cancel. Press it, and it will stop iTunes from deleting all of your data. It will no longer bring you back to the welcome screen once you have done this.

  • Can I change the apple id on new iphone to old apple id?

I just got a new iphone 5s after having a droid for a year. While at the Tmobile store I couldn't remember my apple ID/password so the guy told me just to set up a new one 'for now' and that I would be able to change it later so that I can sync my phone and get all my music from my old itunes account. I can't get my phone to sync with the itunes account on my laptop (but I am not very good at this stuff)  Can I either change the apple ID on my phone so that it is my old itunes account or is there a way to get my itunes music from old account onto new phone?  Thanks!

Yeah - I believe so. According to the article linked below, having that box checked means that you are, literally, dragging music, and other stuff from your library to your device as opposed to syncing. Not sure I understand the purpose of it. I have always sync'd my device, and I control what syncs by setting up the Profile pages accordingly.
In fact, I sync my devices and my husbands devices to our iTunes library on his Macbook Pro, but we have the Photos option unchecked on all of the device profiles on his Macbook Pro library. We then sync our photos from my Macbook Air, which is where our iPhoto library is housed. On the device profiles on my Mac, all of the boxes except the Photos tab are unchecked. We use the sync process on both, and the way the profiles are set up, it prevents anything from getting accidently un-synced or deleted....
Maybe the Manually Manage option allows you to drag music from multiple libraries without wiping out what you already have on your device....just not sure. But here is the link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1535
This article indicates that even with the Manually Manage option on, you can selectively set up your profile screens to allow automatic syncing at the same time (just not with the same content).
    Hope that makes sense!

  • New iPhone user needs guidance setting up 4 iPhones for family - best approach?

Hi - I'm a new iPhone user tasked with setting up 4 iPhones for family (three 4S, one 3GS). I set up the first 4S using my mother's existing Apple ID (she has an iPad) and I think (hope) hers is fine. When I set up my father's phone, my sister said to enter my mother's Apple ID during setup since they wanted to use a single Apple ID for iTunes purchases. The setup screen I'm referring to the 7th screen into the setup process for a new iPhone 4S (after the Welcome, Language, Country/Region, Location Services, Wi-Fi Networks, and Set Up iPhone screens), where it asks you to "Sign In with an Apple ID" or "Create a Free Apple ID". This screen was where I entered my mother's Apple ID into my father's phone.
By entering my mother's Apple ID on my father's phone at this point during setup, I seem to have created a "clone" of her phone - their phone numbers are distinct and they can call each other but iMessages sent to either of them initially appeared on BOTH phones. I think I have now fixed that by creating a separate Apple ID for my father after the fact and entering it under Settings>Messages. Thinking I could also enter his new Apple ID under Settings>iCloud, I found I could not change it from my mother's Apple ID (it's greyed out). I saw a recommendation in another post to click on the red "Delete Account" button at the bottom, but will that delete my mother's entire account or only its association with my father's phone?
Backing up a step or two, I'm worried that at this point I should have entered/created a new Apple ID on screen #7 during initial setup of my father's phone (instead of entering my mother's Apple ID), and that just changing settings in iMessage, iCloud, etc. won't really fix any problem(s) I've created. I hesitate to set up the other two phones before knowing how badly I've already messed things up with this one.
During the initial set up of my father's iPhone, should I have created/entered his own unique Apple ID on screen #7 instead of entering my mother's Apple ID? (and then on his phone AFTER setup was complete, changing to my mother's Apple ID under Settings>Store so that all purchases are shared)?
If yes, do I need to restore his phone to factory settings and set it up as a new phone so his phone behaves like his and not a clone of hers?
Without knowing what might be the best way to set up these 4 new iPhones, I was thinking the four unique users of these new phones would most likely want to share apps (by purchasing them with one Apple ID), backup/synch to one computer, but maintain separate iCloud accounts so everyone's info is private? I've spent time reading other posts and see so many different recommendations for families with multiple devices that my head is spinning. Many include questions from folks migrating from older phones or MobileMe. I think my situation is simpler in that there are 4 new iphones and one existing Apple ID. Have I missed some comprehensive post that clarifies the best way to set things up for families new to iPhones, or do needs vary so much that no single best way exists? Given my situation (and depending on which way I should proceed regarding having set up my father's phone with my mother's Apple ID), should I create/enter a separate Apple ID for each new phone user during initial setup so each phone is distinct from the others, and AFTER setup is complete, changing the iTunes and Store info to the shared Apple Id for purchases? Or can I customize each individual phone after the fact in Settings>Whatever so that even if I've entered the same Apple ID on Screen #7 during initial new phone setup, the 4 phones will ultimately be set up correctly?
So sorry to have to ask such basic questions. Many thanks, in advance, for any guidance provided to help me not make any (more?) mistakes during setup that will be a real headache to remedy later, once everyone has started using their phones.

Hi edgefield, sorry you're having so much trouble.
FIRST CREATE A BACKUP ON YOUR COMPUTER -ALWAYS BEFORE PLAYING WITH THE INFORMATION ON THE PHONES (it prevents losses)
    Now I'll answer your questions)
During the initial set up of my father's iPhone, should I have created/entered his own unique Apple ID on screen #7 instead of entering my mother's Apple ID? (and then on his phone AFTER setup was complete, changing to my mother's Apple ID under Settings>Store so that all purchases are shared)?
Yes.  Create his own apple id and sign him in.  then tap settings ->store -> tap on the account name -> sign out.
Then sign in your fathers apple id.  (create your fathers apple id on the computer, its much easier, trust me).
If yes, do I need to restore his phone to factory settings and set it up as a new phone so his phone behaves like his and not a clone of hers?##
No.  Tap settings -> icloud, and turn everything off (keep on the phone option).  Then DELETE ACCOUNT (it's got red around it and at the bottom of the screen if you scroll down).  You cannot sign out of iCloud, you can only delete the account.  Then clean up the contacts and information on the phone.
Then you tap settings -> iCloud and sign in.  Put your fathers apple id in the section.  His information will be uploaded to www.icloud.com.  Then go to www.icloud.com and sign in with his apple id.  Make sure his information is uploaded (you'll have to select timezone and such).
From that point you are fine except for iMessage.
For iMessage to function properly, only one apple id can be signed into the iTunes store (settings -> store).  If they are both signed into the same apple id on the iTunes store, than you need to turn off iMessage on one of the phones.  The iMessage may be delievered to either phone when both are signed in under the same apple id in the iTunes store.
tap settings -> messages -> imessage off
This also disables facetime.  If you want them to have iMessage and Facetime, they have to have seperate apple id's signed into the iTunes store.
Have I missed some comprehensive post that clarifies the best way to set things up for families new to iPhones, or do needs vary so much that no single best way exists?
Not that I've seen, will consider creating one if I have time.
Your best bet is to create each apple id on the computer (keyboards are easier to use) and then sign them each in during the creation process.  Then change the iTunes store info to the stored apple id.
This will allow each person to serpate iClouds without interfering with each others Cloud as you set up new devices.
Or can I customize each individual phone after the fact in Settings>Whatever so that even if I've entered the same Apple ID on Screen #7 during initial new phone setup, the 4 phones will ultimately be set up correctly?
Doing it this way can cause problems (or used to, not sure if it still does), initially, when you set it up, it wants to create a backup or upload the blank info to iCloud.  You are better off setting up their own apple id first and signing in with that, and then changing it in the iTunes store.
I'm off to bed, I'll check this thread tomorrow and see if you have any more questions/problems.  Remember, always create a back-up before you do anything.
