Installing new software what to do
I am about to Install Adobe CS4 on my 27' Imac with 2 GB of ram. I am running photoshop elements 6 on it already. Do I have to uninstall Photoshop elements before installing CS4? Would love the help thank you.

No! This will create all kinds of problems. PSE 6 and 8 MUST be uninstalled properly (if you don't want to just leave them on) or you'll have all kinds of trouble installing CS4. To uninstall PSE 6, go to Applications>Utilities and use the uninstaller in the adobe folder there, or just use your disk or download that you installed from and start the Installer. In either case, when you get to the screen where you'd normally choose Install Components, you choose Remove Components instead.
If you've already trashed PSE, post back, but don't install CS4 yet, because you'll need to run a special script to get rid of everything (appdelete will not do it--these are deep system files).

You can restore your iPod to "New" which will erase every thing and install fresh iOS software or you can restore to a particular backup that you have previously created. In this case, your iPod Apps & data will appear as per the backup. Note that some content is not in a backup and will need to be synced back to the iPad from the iTunes music library or from, for example, the iPhoto photo library.

So I just bought a used MacBook from Amazon with OSX 10.5.8. I am trying to install new software and operating system, but I don't have the passwords to the Users set up in the computer. What do I do?
Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Reset Password. After resetting the password use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for startup and restart. -
I am trying to install new software on my Imac and my keychain asks for my password, I type it in, it says it is wrong, I do it again, wrong, it gives me a hint, same one I have been using, wrong again, so I cannot get the new soft ware to download, how do I get my passwork on the keychain to work or how do I change it?
What model iMac and what version of the Mac OS is installed? "About this Mac" from the Apple menu is a good place to start.

I installed new software updates, and now when I try to open up pages it tells me "Pages cannot be opened because of a problem." does anyone know what I can do?

I keep getting an error message when installing new software that says "System extension cannot be used /system/library/extension/IoFireWireWDHID.kext was installed improperly" I have no idea what this means and all of my software seems to install okay

Storeassetd is asking for username and password to install new software...
Turned on my MacB Air and the battery icon didn't display percentage....wanted to change that icon if I could find it but couldn't....then pop up window says:

I've guessed every combo I can and am not coming up with the right combo........it keeps popping up....

thanks....Hi. Updates from apple come from software update or the app store and usually display what the update is. If you have a newer operating system you can go to the app store my account and look for any updates. Or give you a triangle to click for more info. The percentage for battery is at the battery icon upper right Click on the icon and a drop down will let you choose show and percentage.

I have a somehow managed to delete a driver or no, so I can not install new software updates. I have tried for several hours to fixe it on OS X tools-Disc Tools. anyone has a clue about this more than I have about Mac´crack that **** formatted and has really nothing to the HD. what do I do??

Flashbuilder stalls when trying to install new software
hey all, for some reason Flashbuilder does not want to install new software. It just sits there forever calculating. Has anyone else seen this before? It used to work fine. Not sure what's changed.

Storeagent is trying to install new software?
I was using my Mac tonight and suddenly this dialog box I had never gotten before popped up. It said:
storeagent is trying to install new software.
Type your password to allow this.
...with fields to enter the data and a "Cancel" and "Install Software" button. In addition, there was a help (?) button that when clicked on called up Mac Help Center with the section on "If you forget your login password" but no data on what this storeagent is.
The dialog seemed to have been provided by Mac OS, since it floated above all windows.
Normally, when I get an unfamiliar message, I type a phrase from it (in quotes) into Google and this pulls up plenty of cases where people have inquired about the same issue before me, but this time when I entered the phrase used in the dialog and the title of this post, I got nothing. Surely I am not the first one who has encountered this dialog before?
I clicked Cancel, since you hear so much about viruses these days attempting to install malignent software. When I did so, I got a dialog with the icon of the Mac App Store, saying the app update had been cancelled.
Maybe this dialog is legit? Advice appreciated.Okay, I've thought of a couple of things you can try if you don't want storeagent to run when MAS is not open:
1. Go to Applications > Utilities and launch Activity Monitor. Processes are arranged alphabetically. scroll down to storeagent and, if it is running, highlight it. Then go to the top left of the window and click on "quit process". That is a manual way to stop something from running. Test: leave Activity Monitor open and launch MAS - check to see if storeagent launched itself right after that. If so, quit MAS and see if it quits - if not, quit the process manually.
2. What settings do you have set in System Preferences > Software Update? I prefer not to have things done automatically so I have everything unchecked:

When you set up a Mac, it lets you choose which password you want to use, and it is not your Apple ID password.
First of all, try resetting the user account password with your Apple ID > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274
If it does not work, you need to reset the password through OS X Recovery > http://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4101 -

Usually this is because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try again in 20 minutes or so.

You have the option when reloading the OS (software) of the languages you load. Infact its one of the choices providing you choose a multilanguage version of the OS.
Before doing anything else, have a look here at the official OS downloads. It would be advisable in my view ti download and then install the UK T-Mobile multilanguage OS and unless anyone can advise specifically, that means loading it and then seeing if exactly what you want is presented in the reload process.
This is how I installed mine, it contains the links you need
In the guides it says to do a backup. Do this if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
Get the latest Desk Top Software

and install it on the computer.
Get the correct latest version of the OS

Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
1. Connect your device to your computer.
2. On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Update my device.
3. Do one of the following:
* To download an update, click Get update.
* To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, click another version. Click Install.
Ensure the new OS is the one you prevously downloaded.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!
