Installing NI-DAQmx 9.7.0 Application Development Support

Hello,
I am currently trying to install Labview 2009 (my former copy was lost when my former computer's motherboard overheated). The installation has gone fine, I think, and I am able to create new projects etc.
When I downloaded NI-DAQmx 9.7 (the full installer), I seem to be unable to install several pieces of software - please see the error-file attached. I am not worried about the NI I/O Trace 3.0.2, NI MAX 5.4, or NI Network Browser 5.4.0, as I believe the higher editions I have are backwards-compatible.
With the NI-DAQmx 9.7.0 Application Development Support however, I cannot install this due to incompatible products. Do you know what kind of products this error is referring to? I am at a loss, as I also do not know what the symbol shown in screenshot means (I've accessed this window through trying a custom installation, but I cannot change to a tick/cross).
Thank you in advance!
Carl

Hi Carl,
Is it possible you are able to post your MAX System Information, so we can see in depth if there are any conflicts on your system. DAQmx 9.7.0 is supported by LabVIEW 2009, so I am unsure of what the exact issue is at this time.
In NI-MAX, if you could: Right click on My System >> Create Report >> Select My System, and select Simple Report. Generate the report, then please upload it so I can see.
Best Wishes,

  • Kdcom.dll error after installing NI-DAQmx 7.5/8.5 on Windows XP Pro

We are trying to switch from including a fully computer drawer in our product to just using a SBC (Single Board Computer).  In the past we have used Pentium 4 boards with the NI-DAQmx 7.5 suite and had no problem.  The current board we are testing useds the Intel 855GME GMCH chipset with a 1.0 GHz Celeron M Processor.  After installing the software and I am prompted to restart, and upon restart a notorious Windows blue screen of death comes up saying that there was an error error with kdcom.dll.  (exact error below)
    A
problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
    damage to your computer.Stop:
    0x0000007E (0xc0000010,0xFAFF2A0,0xF7A16344,0xF7A16040)
    kdcom.dll
    – Address F7AFF2A0 base at F7AFF000, Datestamp 3b7d8346
I have installed both DAQmx 7.5 and 8.5 getting the same results with both.  I have tried to disable all of the onboard functionalities of the board (video, ethernet, sound) and still I have gotten this same error.  (Note: I have done default installs as well as full studio installs)
Has anybody seen this error before and knows what is causing/how to stop it?
Is it quite possible that the NI-DAQmx 7.5/8.5 software/drivers are just not compatible with this SBC?
Here is a link to info/specs about board that I am having trouble with: WinSystems EBC-855
    Thanks

    Hi,
I'm not sure that this is a DAQmx related issue. A Google search reveals that kdcom.dll is a Windows dll - what leads you to believe that DAQmx is involved? I'm not a Windows supporter, but there do appear to be a few discussions in that search with issues very similar to yours - did you try replacing that dll? As long as your computer is an x86 architecture and/or on a supported OS, DAQmx should be able to run on that machine. You may want to hit up WinSystem's support to see what they have to say from the computer side.
Hope this helps, please don't hesitate to post back if DAQmx is the culprit or if you have any additional questions.
    Cheers,

  • Installing NI-DAQmx in Windows XP x64

    hello,
I've been trying to install NI-DAQmx in a computer with Windows XP x64. I've read some of the discussion news about this issue, yet I could not find any post that has a solution to it. May I know what should I do to get NI-DAQmx to be installed in OS XP x64? Thank you very much for your time and help.

If you have read some of the posts, then this one should explain it all. There is no driver for XP 64 nor do I think it's likely that there ever will be one. I haven't even seen much support for this OS from Microsoft. It's all been about Vista.

  • Cannot install NI-DAQmx on Dell Optiplex 3010

I am trying to install NI Drivers on Dell Optiplex 3010 machines.  We have many of these machines - our IT department appears to have stocked up on them.  During installation of the NI Drivers the installation will simply stop progressing when it hits some % complete (the actual % varies from one installation attempt to the next).  There are no error messages, no timeouts, etc.  - it will simply stay at that point and never progress or stop until the machine is rebooted.
I have traced it down to the NI-DAQmx drivers.  I can install all of the other drivers as long as I don't install NI-DAQmx (or anything that depends on it).  Even just trying to install NI-DAQmx without other drivers that depend on it produces the same issue.  I have not had any driver installation issues on other Win7 machines that are not Optiplex 3010s.
Anybody else see this or have any ideas on how to resolve it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Devin

    Hello dbentley!
    Some thoughts:
Sometimes, the windows installers can encounter problems during the installation progress, due to the Windows Update manager. Have you tried installing the required updates on your Windows machine (I'm assuming you are using Windows 7), before installing the NI Drivers?
Are you running the installers from the network? Have you confirmed that there are no network issues (e.g. connection drops) to that machine?
    Best regards!

  • No option to simulate cRIO device after installing Labview and RT/FPGA Modules from downloads (missing driver support?)

    Hi guys--
Basically, I need to simulate a cRIO device without yet having the hardware on hand, like this:
How to Simulate FPGA Hardware Targets Using the Project Explorer with LabVIEW
Instead, I only get the options shown in the attachment "Add Target Options.jpg".  I assume this is because of missing drivers, which I assume is due some mistake I made during a recent fresh install of LV.  The install went like this:  I downloaded (not disks) and installed the following (in this order, latest versions all around):
    (1) LabView Development System
    (2) Real-Time Module
    (3) FPGA Module
    (4) NI-RIO (install prompted by previous install)
    (5) DAQmx
At the end of (1) and (2), I got the screen shown in the second attachment ("Drivers Install Message.jpg"), but could not get it to recognize the "NI Device Drivers" folder (which I also downloaded), or any of its sub-folders.
I feel I'm missing some obvious option for loading up the necessary drivers after the install, but can't seem to find reference to it in the forums.  Could anyone give me a little push in the right direction?
Thanks a bunch, and have a great day.

    Michael--
Thanks for your reply.  In answer to your questions, the DAQmx install seemed to go smoothly, and I believe this is evidenced by available my MAX Simulated Device options (shown in the attachment to this post).  My best guess (could be wrong here) is that I cannot simulate a cRIO device because I was unable to install the drivers after the Real-Time Module installation (as described in my first post).
The source path selection screen for drivers ("Drivers Install Message" attachment in first post) told me "...you can install NI device drivers later.", and since it would not recognize anything in the NI Device Drivers folder I downloaded, I clicked on "Later".
I could narrow the issue down a bit if I could now install those drivers, but this is my first time installing without disks, and I can't figure out how to properly install the drivers from the folder I have sitting on my hard drive.  Have I overlooked instructions somewhere on this procedure?
Thanks a bunch for your help.

  • I am trying to upload itunes 10.5, but get a message "There is a problem with this Window Installer Pkg. A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor".  What is it I need to do?

I am trying to install itunes 10.5, but during the download I get the following message, "There is a problem with this Window Installer Package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personanal or package vendor."  If this is my personal computer and was able to upgrade to the previous version (pre 10.5), why not now?  What is my "package vendor"? And what is it I need to do to fix this?  The message is unclear.  Unfortunately, I deleted my itunes program, thinking that in doing so, 10.5 would finally load.  Now I have no itunes on my computer and unable to sync my iphone.  Help!
    Thanks - Rick

    Hi Rick,
by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.
    Success,

I've tried multiple times, cleaned temp files, updated windows and still cannot complete the install. I've noticed other problems with 10.5 and windows though it downloaded into my other PC fine. This is a clean install, iTunes has never been on this PC before. Any help is appreciated.

I am using Window 7 32 bit. I have try several time for install, but the result is getting same error message.
    Anyone can help on this??????
    Thanks.

I have also tried extracting the individual components to the temp file and attempting to install them individually despite being unable to remove the previous install of Apple Software Updater.  The outcome, both Apple Software Updater and itunes encountered the same error message during the install process.

  • I'm trying to run an Apple itunes update  on my Dell   with Windows 7. Doing so I do get the message "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support

I am trying to update my iphone 4, but in order to do that I need to update itunes.  I am unable to do this, or update quicktime.  I get an error message that says
"A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I have a dell running windows 7

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?
