Hello
Id like to install Oracle Portal. So I installed Oracle8i (8.1.6) database on my server, database works properly. I downloaded Oracle9i AS for WNT and I tried to install O9iAS on the database machine. I chose Oracle HTTP Server Only but Universal Installer didnt prompt me to reboot server it just disappeared. I rebooted server anyway and after it Universal Installer appeared for a minute and disappeared again.

  • O9iAS Rel2 Installaion's Problem on RedHat 7.2

    I completed installing O9i Rel.2 on Redhat 7.2. It's work properly.
But now, I try to install the Oracle 9iAS Rel.2 on Redhat 7.2 on the middle tier server.
The OUI shows the error message "Oracle9iAS installation has detected that the Enterprise Manager Website is running on this system." and the instruction message tell me to stop the Enterprise Manager Website by using command "emctl stop"
But I have not install any Oracle on this server. I think, may be conflict with Apache on the Redhat,
But after I uninstalled all the Apache and http packages, It still occurs the same error message.
(The error occurs on 23% installation of the screen "Installation Types")
    Someone help me please..

  • Problem with Oracle 8.1.7.4 and W2000

    Hi all,
I installed Windows 2000 Server with IIS 5 and Oracle 8.1.7.4. Every now and then, I get an ASP error (800a01fb) mentioning that some SQL-query cannot be executed. However, this is not a persistent error. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it does not. Besides that, the asp-pages worked fine on NT4. I installed the latest ODBC driver (8.1.7.8.10), MDAC 2.53.6200.00, on a P4.
I've been searching for some days now on Google, finding loads of info on security, editing the SQLNET.ORA file and so on, but nothing seems to work. The ODBC driver I had before (8.1.6) worked even better than the new one. Installing SP4 for W2000 also had no effect. Can anybody please help me?
    Thanx in advance,
    regards,
    Tom

    Hi,
My problem is solved as far as I can see now (that is: I do not see any problems anymore). I've installed Oracle ODBC Driver 8.1.7.1.0 and MDAC 2.7 SP 1 and got rid of all session.lcid=.... in my asp pages. This was mainly the cause of numerous errors about incorrect datatypes.

  • SSL Certs in 9ias How to install??

I have 9ias installed on a W2000 server, 8.1.6 oracle enterprise edition. Am trying to generate a csr. As per documentation from Thawte, the key generates fine. When I go to generate the csr it keep defaulting to a "/usr/local/..." directory which doesn't exist. Has anyone installed a Thawte cert into the 9ias and made it work?

I did not receive the file yet. I'm not sure if there were any specific errors to the apache part (there were numerous install problems which seem to be inherent to Oracle). Is there some way to get the file off of the CD and just copy it in??

  • O9i Database Config. Assistant Error

I have installed O9i on a 5G logical partition, secondary disc XP system.
The install is fine, but the DB Configuration Assistant fails to start at the end.
The installer says that it cannot find the JavaSoft file, but it is in the proper location on the cd.
I seem to remember installing from this media before with no problems, but after reinstallation, the same problem comes up.
    Any thoughts?

Copied the same media to the hard drive, installation worked flawlessly.

  • Oracle 8i clients cann't install to Windows XP Home Edtion

I install the Oracle 8i to Windows XP(Home Edtion) , it had not show any message. Is there laster client software for that ?

I was able to install O9i rel 1 on XP home, everything works OK. Well, congratulations to you.
I don't suppose you'd care to post a summary of the problems you faced and how you overcame them? Only this question crops up quite frequently and I haven't seen a good How To on it. It would be right neighbourly of you.

  • Trouble with install of 6.1

i download the weblogic610_beta_win.exe install file for w2000
but, when i run it, it prepare an instalation but do nothing and
    quit.

Sorry. I'll try to be more careful. I was a little confused about where to post it. There were categories for apple specific software products, I kind of thought I'd see a category for "third party software". Or a few categories for third party software (mozilla products, etc).
Since, I am in the process of switching from PC to mac, that seemed to fit the description of the "Windows Compatibility" category ...
"Here you can ask questions about how to integrate a Macintosh into a Microsoft Windows environment or how to make the switch to a Macintosh."
    But now I know better.

  • 2 Oracle HTTP Server ?

Why there is 2 OHS when we install O9iAS Infrastructure and O9iAS Middle-tier?
I think one is SSO server and the other is the real server http???
    Could you help me!!!
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot for your help.
But I still don't understand why there is a directory forms90, report or portal in the infrastructure home? (maybe there are not configured in the infra home and so they are not use...)and why we've got a directory SSO in the midtier home?
Why there is a similar directory structure in the two oracle_home(infra et midtier)?

  • How to deploy forms on oracle portal

    Hello everybody
I developed some forms in a client/server mode, recently I installed O9iAS(minimal edition(including HTTPserver and oracle portal)).I would like to use those forms on the internet. Its not very clear to me what I am supposed to do next. Can I install form server on the node which is currently running O9iAS?(portal and HTTP server),is it necessary to do a fresh installation of O9iAS(enterprise edition, which includes form server?).I would also appreciate any help regarding necessary configuration tips.
    Best Rgds
    sabasaba

your best bet would be to do a full install of Oracle9iAS. This will install the Forms server for you and configure everything. It will save you a lot of configuration probems.

  • Discoverer Plus connecting error

    Dear All,
I installed O9iAS release 2 BI installation type successfully but when i tried to invoke discoverer plus
for the first time i got the following error :
CORBA protocol error : Failed to connect to session <server_name>OracleDiscoverer session902 using OSAgent
    any help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Mohammed Amin

    Hi Christian
In your connection to the database are you using a DNS named server or are you using an actual IP address?
By this I mean, when you launch Discoverer, do you do it this way:
    http://servername.domain.com:7777/discoverer/plus
    or this way:
    http://ipaddress:7777/discoverer/plus
If you are using the former, can you go to the server itself and run Discoverer ok? If you can then it is a case that your local machine cannot work out what the IP address is. Let's say, for arguements sake, that you server is http://myserver.mydomain.com and that the IP is 192.168.1.100
You could try editing your HOSTS file and inserting a line in there to associate the IP with the domain. To do this, follow this workflow:
    1. Right click on Windows Start button and from pop upmenu select Explore
    2. Navigate to the folder called Windows/system32/drivers/etc
    3. Locate the file called HOSTS
    4. Edit this file with Notepad
    5. Insert a line like this:
    myserver.mydomain.com 192.168.1.100
6 Save the HOSTS file and exit Explorer
This associates the IP with the server name.
    Does this help
    Regards

  • OTNDeptEmpStub example: connection problem

I installed JDEV902 on W2000. No database/no application server: I just want to connect to the webservice.
I did everything (moretimes) according to the OTN Tutorial.

Sounds as if you are working with the OC4J-Stand-Alone service (vice connecting to a 9iAS instance). The JDeveloper QuickStart discusses how to set this up.
I had similar problems. The OC4J service needs to be running. There is a batch file that starts the service; look under "\jdev\bin\start_oc4j.bat" (JDeveloper 9.0.3).
A DOS window will stay open. Closing this window kills the OC4J service and will result in a connection problem.
You must manually ensure the service is started before you run your web service consumer.

  • Break in Installation

I was in the process of installing O9iAS on my computer, after
installation from the first CD completed, I inserted the second
cd, I was alerted that I has inserted the wrong volume (which was
not true), I hit cancel with the intention of killing the alert
unfortunately Oracle installer went off all together.
Now I do not know how to proceed with the installation from were
I left off. If I have to so it all over again what precautions
    must I take?
    Thanks,

If you don't open any apps, Mail, iTunes, iPhoto, the libraries may not get upgraded.  Once they are they will not be compatible with Lion.
Really you should not install Mavericks without making a backup of your original OS, either use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a clone or Time Machine backup.
Assuming you have now installed Mavericks, give it a fair go.  If you want to go back to Lion you will need to do said backups on an external disk first, as you will either need to boot into an external disk and do an erase/install of the computer with the Lion installer and then transfer back you user data.
Alternatively, if you have it available, use Internet Recovery, which will install the computer's original operating system.  You'll still need to have saved your user account to an external disk.

  • Zen Sleek Connection prob

    Hey all.
I've had my Zen Sleek for about a year, and aside from having to reset it sometimes, it hasn't given me that many problems.
So, today I went to go put some new songs on it, and the player would not connect. My computer made the noise that it usually does when I connect something, but it didn't say "Docked" on the screen of the player, and I wasn't able to click anything in the media explorer.
I did a disc clean up on the player, and reset it, and tried all of the USB ports on the computer...and nothing. Help?Message Edited by mandimoo on 08-4-2006 03:57 PM

I have Windows 2000 so this means I "can't" buy Zen Sleek Photo because it requires Windows XP?
Or is it possible to use Zen sleek photo in Windows 2000 somehow. I don?t need WMediaplayer (0) or Creative MediaSource, they are not so important in use I think.
Can I install drivers to W2000?
(I?m from Finland, sorry for bad english. Hard Rock Halleluja!)

  • Error - required resource was unavailable

I am using adobe designer and about two times an hour, it will just crash. Sometimes it crashes and doesn't specify and just closes and sometime i get error message that says "unknown bravo error" and when i hit ok i get another error "a required resource was unavailable" and then it just crashes. I keep loosing all my work. The way i work now is after a add one line to my form, i have to hit save. I am not doing anything out of the ordinary, but i am adding around 20 or so radio button lists? Is that too many for a form to handle?
I am going to contact adobe soon but i wanted to try this free option first.
    Thanks.

I installed Designer on W2000 without problems.
The program would start and would show me the initial splash screen but would then crash out, giving me the ""resource was unavailable" error message.
I increased the paging file size from 350 MB to 720 MB, and then the program started up as it should.
