Installing OBIA 7963

Hi All,
I am trying to install just the HR analytics from the OBIA 7.9.6.3.When I come to the screen to choose the module,I have tried both (Choosing all the modules or just choosing HR analytics) and click next the file size is 3000+.So does it mean that by default you need to install all the modules through the installed and delete the SA's not needed.
Any Help in this regards would be gr*

Hi Haree,
It depends on your db if the network connectoin(remote) is poor it may take more than 30mins

  • Installing OBIA 7964 on Linux

    Hi Gurus,
I need to know what is the process of installing OBIA 7964 on the Linux, I had already installed the OBIA 7964 on the windows. Can you please let me know what are the next steps to install the OBIA 7964 on the LINUX environment. The Linux environment is on OBIEE 11.1.1.6.10 and the Webcat is copied from the Production Environment which has OBIA 7963. The Informatica is on HotFix2 and DAC 11g. So everything is in place I need to know now:
1.) How to implement the OBIA 7964 on the LINUX.
2.) How to upgrade the Webcat so that the Dashboards show the version as 7.9.6.4
3.) Do I need to do anything on the RPD side.
Thanks in Advance for the help.
    Rgds,
    Amit

    Hi,
    1. The installation for OBIA 7964 is same as OBIE 7963 except the version difference of the tools like OBIEE. Follow the standard installation document. it will be better.
2.No need to upgrade Webcatalog. you have to copy the catalog from 7963 server and paste in the location, deploy and restart all services then it will start working
    3.  For RPD, copy the RPD from OBIA 7963 server. open the Admin tool in OBIA 7964 server and open the RPD(OBIA 7963 RPD) in the Admin too 7964 server and save it in the desired location(Desktop). Then the latest RPD is ready , you can deploy the RPD and start working with the 7964.

  • Error installing OBI EE on Dell XP

    Hi all,
I am trying to install OBI EE on my laptop (Dell Lattitude 630 / XP).
Right after clicking set up.exe I get a message that my platform is not supported and then it lists the supported platforms.
Looking at this forum I saw some people having the same problem a few weeks ago. Suggestion was to move framedyn.dll to system32 directory and adding it to the path. Which I did. But no solution.
When I execute systeminfo.exe from the shell I get an error as well. I am very curious if any of you have a solution for this problem.
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated,
    Toin.
I noticed that a few other people having this problem also had Dell computers, and it looked like there were some Dutch people having the same problem as I. Could this have anything to do with either Dell or Dutch XP version by any chance??

    Hi Toin,
I experienced the same problems you did. Maybe it has something to do with the Dutch version of XP on a Dell computer. It looks like I have found a solution.
I have downloaded the latest version 10.1.3.3.1 via http://edelivery.oracle.com instead of http://otn.oracle.com. There you will find 3 separate .zip-files. I downloaded these and extracted them in one folder. Now I was able to install Oracle BI EE at last.
Maybe this helps for you as well.

    Hi,
After installing OBI SE 1 10.1.3.2.1 I try to open Oracle BI interactive dashboards (http://localhost:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard)
I am not able to do this, because of the following message HTTP-Error:500: Internal server error.
I found in C:\oracle\bise1\bidata\web\log the file sawlog0.log, In there I found the following lines:
Allocation of SQLEnvironment failed (SQLError: -1). Please ensure that the odbc driver is in your environment path.

This file is placed in the directory C:\oracle\bise1\bi\server\Bin, which is in my environment path.

  • How to install OBIA 7.9.6.3 (bi apps) ?

    Hi,
I need to install obia (bi apps) on windows.
but i am not getting how to install it because the environment which i am having is as follows....
    1. RCU and OBIEE 11g on separate Linux server1(red-hart).
    2. INFORMATICA 9.1 AND DAC 10.1.4.3.1 on separate Linux server2.
    3. On WINDOWS 2008 i need to install OBIA 7.9.6.3.
so at installation time of obia we need to mention three location i.e.
    BI Oracle Home Location
    Oracle Instance Location
    Domain Home Location
but these files are in Linux server.
so how can install OBIA 7.9.6.3 on windows .
if anybody knows plz help me on this.
    REGARDS
    ROOPESH SAHU

    Hi Saurabh,
You can not install OBIA separatly,OBIA will install only on windows.
So for installing OBIA....you have to install OBIEE,after installing OBIEE install OBIA and give below locations of OBIEE.
    BI Oracle Home Location
    Oracle Instance Location
    Domain Home Location
After installation you can find biapps folder in oraclebi home.
In your scenari, install obia in windows and copy that biapps folder seperatly.
After copying biapps folder, uninstall OBIEE and OBIA from windows 2008 and use that machine as client machine.
because we can't open rpd in linux machine.....
    Hope it helps you...

  • How to install OBIA on windows having OBIEE on Linux?

    Hi,
I am going to install as many components on Linux as possible for BI Apps.
Presently I have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on Linux 5.8 64bit.
Now I want to install OBIA 7964 which is only available for Windows so far.
How I can setup OBIA on Linux? May be I have to install it windows and move metadata (RPD, Catalog) on Linux.
But again when I try to install OBIA on windows then it ask for OBIEE software locations (Like domain home, instance home etc)
Does that interesting by Oracle? How to solve it?
    Documentation say nothing about it.
    Regards
    Naeem Akhtar

After you have copied you might just need to restart the services for few files in order for them to be reflected. OBIA comes with RPD and catalog folders, just copy them or deploy them using EM and just restart the services. You should be good.
If you cant access http://hostname:9704/analytics then services might be down. looks for logs and also ./opmnctl status to see as what are the services are down.
    Thanks,

  • Installing OBIA 11g - stuck at Business Analytics Applications Suite RCU

    Hi.
I'm installing OBIA 11.1.1.7.1 in windows machine and the database is in linux server. I've completed till ODI installation. While running Business Analytics Applications Suite RCU installer, i got stuck in custom variables (step 5 of 8).
I have created directories in the database server and copied the dump files to the respective directories.
For Custom variable value, i have tried entering the directory name and the directory path for each component. But it runs for a long time(more than 3hrs) and doesn't go to the next step.
Please help me to resolve this issue. Also please let me know if i have missed something.

  • Install OBI 10G in Windows 7

    Hi Guys,
We are planning to install OBIEE 10G(Version 10.3.4.2) on Windows 7. What version of JDK is required for OBI 10g to run on windows 7. Can someone please provide the steps involved. Will OBIEE 10.3.4.0 works in windows 7.
    Please help.

Hi, I succesfully installed OBIEE 10g on my Windows 7 (Ultimate) machine. Now I am not able to connect to Oracle 11g database. When I tried to configure through START->Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> DATA SOURCES (ODBC) ---> ....I am seeing Oracle 11g in System DSN but I am unable to see OBIEE driver in system DSN. I am seeing it in user DSN. So is all other 32 bit applications like MS Acess, Excel, etc., are all in user dsn. When I open OBIEE Administration tool, I can only see Analytics Web and nothing else.
Please assist me. Thanks in advance.

  • Installing OBIA 11g - Stuck at configuration script

    Hello,
I'm installing OBIEE, ODI and OBIA for a client on Unix and running into several problems. Most are out of the way, but I can't seem to figure this one out on my own.
I'm using the installation manual from docs.oracle.com and came to step 3.3.5 (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E38317_01/doc.11117/e35981/install.htm#BABEFEJA) . This is to configure OBIEE with a script, problem is it won't run because it's missing a oneclick.properties file under $ORACLE_BI_HOME/oui/bin.
I searched the whole server and couldn't find a file with that name. I even searched in the installation files and could not find anything.
Does anybody know how to solve this or what I missed?

After chekcing with oracle, I did following...
    1. Install BI EE 11.1.7.0 in Enterprise Only mode. This mode installs Weblogic
10.3.5 and configures the BI Domain
    2. Install ODI 11.1.1.7.0
    3. Install BI Applications 11.1.1.7.1
    4. Apply FMW Platform Patches
now I am running confgapps.sh and getting error at Configuring ODI step...I see this in the *.out file
    see this in the log...

  • Problem installing OBI 11.1.1.5.0 on Linux 64

    Hi all,
when starting runInstaller from bishiphome/Disk1 the welcome screen appears and shows some progress during initialization. But this process then stops with a java exception
    [EXCEPTION]:java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
    Can somebody help me?
    Thanks - Mike

Thank you for your suggestion. I can certainly try pointing to a different temp folder, but how much space does it need?
/u00/temp appears to have quite a bit of space available...
    [oracle@oel58 logs]$ df -k
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00

Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/sda2 99188500 18500088 75568500 20% /u00
Also, I verified TMP, TMPDIR, and TEMP all point to /u00/temp.
And the preinstallation check shows this:
Checking Temp space: must be greater than 1536 MB. Actual 73797 MB Passed
Checking swap space: must be greater than 500 MB. Actual 5951 MB Passed
Checking monitor: must be configured to display at least 256 colors. Actual 16777216 Passed
It might be worth mentioning, as well, that I get the same result, whether I use ...Disk1/runInstall.sh or ...Disk1/install/linux64/runInstall.sh
The file I originally posted came from trying the linux64 installer.
    What else can we check/try?

What is it that tells the installer there is an application server running? Is it checking for some WebLogic environment variable I may have incorrectly configured? I have a WebLogic server running, and it is hosting a Forms server and a help server. Why does the installer think there is no Application Server installed?

  • BI applications for EBS R12 release in OBIA 7963 release

    Hi all,
Can anybody list the BI applications for EBS R12 release which supported in OBIA 7.9.6.3?
    Thanks
    Ram

Are you referring to the EBS functional modules? BI Apps has a numbe of product families (Financial Analytics, HR Analytics, CRM Analytics..etc) that can source from EBS as well as other ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Siebel, JDEdwards..etc). If you are looking for the functional areas, I would suggest asking your Oracle rep for the "Product Guides" for the package you need (e.g Financial Analytics, HR Analytics..etc). Also there is a "Content Guide" you can find on metalink that lists the OOTB reports, dashboards, and Metadata content (RPD attributes).
Here is the list of DAC subject areas under the vanilla EBS container..it may help for now until you have the other docs:

  • OBIA 7963 - HR Analytics - Customization Question

**Issue Description:** : OOTB Headcount calculations should exclude group of people who are called as non executive directors (NED). There are no indicators/ Flag in the source system to identify who is NED in a particular point in time. There are some CSV files (Outside source system) with the list of employee who they identified as NED between two dates
    Proposed Solution:
I am planning to use this CSV as lookup file for the incoming source data and stamp employee records with NED_IND (Y/N or 1/0) between two dates, however I have following questions
    1.     Should we stamp this NED_IND flag in Employee dimension (W_EMPLOYEE_D) which is designed as Type 2 SCD OOTB or
    2.     Should we stamp this in workforce fact table (W_WRKFC_EVT_MONTH_F) as a NED_IND indicator flag (1 or 0), so that this flag will be available as part of snapshot calculations
Considering the fact that OOTB Workforce fact process is reasonably complicated with series of mappings both in Full and Incremental load, would you suggest any of above mentioned solutions or any better solution so that we can reduce unnecessary customization of OOTB ETL and preserve existing logic?
Thanks in advance for your time
    Venkat G

    A few things to consider:
    1. If you are trying to alter the actual "Headcount" metric, then you need to edit the FACT tables. This includes the EVENT as well as the MONTHLY snapshot. You may also need to modify the logic of the "ACTIVE/INACTIVE" flag...as this is what is used to calculate the headcounts. Essentially, edit the SDE to bring in the NED FLAG, and then modify the logic for how OOTB "ACTIVE/INACTIVE" is calculated.
    2. If you are running reports that use EMPLOYEE DImension, and you want to also see if the Employee is NED or NOT NED, then yes, you should also add this to the Employee Dim. Also, suppose that an employee can BECOME NED...if you need to capture this history, then you need to add the SCD logic. Also, if an existing employee can become NED..you may have to alter the incremental logic to modify both the DIM and the FACT.
What may be simpler is just to modify the SDE mapplet to use the LOOKUP for NED..and flag those as INACTIVE in the SDE itself...in which case you do not have to modify the downstream ETLs.
Hope that helps.  Pls mark correct or helpful.
