Installing OBIEE 11.1.1.6 Issues

Hi All,
Im installing OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on my laptop. I have installed database 11gR2 (Windows 32bit) and the Repository Creation Tool. I have gone ahead and installed OBIEE 11.1.1.6 (Simple Install)and the install runs completely with no problems until Im asked to restart my machine. After I restart I see all the components installed except Administration Tool. When I go to the Business Intelligence menue it only shows "Deinstall." How can I get access to the Administration Tool to work in the repository. Help.

Give full control permission to Everyone (OBIEE installed folder).
Or
Where you have installed obiee in that drive give to full permission to Every one.
Select Drive--> Right click--> Properties--> select security--> Add --> Every one user--> Give full control privileges to every.

try to start manually by using opmnctl command...it shoud work if its not working try below steps

While installing obiee11g keep it OPMN service type as "Manual" then install and confure it should work.

Error during configuration process while installing obiee 11.1.1.7.0 in windows server 2012

HI..
I'm having an issue while installing obiee 11g(11.1.1.7.0) in windows server 2012 and using the database as ms sql server 2008. During configuration process after the installation process is completed , here the process is stopped at "Step:executing opmnctl start configuration_obisch1" status "failed"
Here is the error:

I tested also disabling antivirus on my PC and disconnect the power cord before starting the installation of JDeveloper. In both tests the result was the same.
Some additional recommendations to solve this case.

Creating Domain step fails while trying to install OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5)

I am really stuck at a point from where I do not know which route to take. I am trying to install OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5) on my Windows 7 (32-bit) laptop. I have tried all the options:
1. Simple Install
2. Enterprise Install
3. Software only install (after installing Weblogic 10.3.4.0 separately)
Everything goes well till the step Bi Configuration->Creating Domain.
In this process whenever it reaches the stage when it tries to start Node Manager, it starts getting java exceptions and fails. It typically occurs when it does not find the nodemanager.properties file and tries to save the configurations there. It then encounters a Fatal Error.

After this it hangs for a long time before finally coming up with Node Manager Server Timed Out error and finally the Creating Domain step fails.
One thing that I have noticed is that whenever it tries to create the nodemanager.properties or write to it it encounters this error and hence the nodemanager.properties file is also not getting generated.
I have ensured that there are no spaces in the TEMP and TMP paths. I even tried creating and putting the nodemanager.properties file in the location but that too does not work.
Strange part is that when I install Weblogic separately and have nodemanager as a windows service, then with the nodemanager.properties that I created the windows service runs, but the OBIEE installation still fails.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

My problem is "creating domain is failed". I guess that the issue with windows 7 32 bits on laptop doesn't configure and run nodemanager. I tried to start nodemanager but don't work (with weblogic scriptinf tools WST). However, Weblogic run ok but nodemanager is inactive. Also it doesn't create nodemanager.propierties. If I create a file nodemanager.properties (or I copied on directory obiee_home\ws_server_10.3\common\nodemanager) obiee installer configures its parameters pre-configured (if I modify a parameter, the installer modify it a default value and I don't know where is these parameters and its definition).
I have installed obiee simple and enterprise and it don't work. I have installed on oracle 11g R2 (desktop and enterprise with datawarehouse) and obiee installer doesn't work. Further this installation obiee delay an hour and then generates error in my case "creating domain is failed".
I'm going try to run install obiee 11.1.1.5 on windows 7 xp mode.
Important: We need help of oracle experts or Oracle communicates if obiee installs or not on windows 7 32 bits laptop because We have wasted

Unable to Install OBIEE in windows 7 32 bit

hi,
i am aware that windows 7 is not supported for OBIEE 10g but from one of the blog they said to change the compatibity version to xp and have done the same but i am gettting some error while running the setup.exe file . the error is as folllows
the installer is unablle to run in graphical mode. try running the installer with the -console or -client flag.
can anyone help how to solve this issue. even i have changed the grphical mode of AEROin windws as suggested in some of the blog but still i am recieving the same error.

Problem installing OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on Linux 64-bit - redux

I had posted an issue earlier about not being able to install the Software Only on my Linux 64-bit. That problem has not been solved, but this is a new (possibly related) issue.
I created a brand new installation of Linux, with an Oracle 11gR2 database, and created the BI repositories using rcu for 11.1.1.6
I then navigated to bishiphome/Disk1/install/linux64 and ran runInstaller.
Everything looks fine, all the way up to Step 13 of 15, where the installer is supposed to start copying files. It "hangs up" at that point. The tests for adequate swap space and Temp space are passed:

So far, I have confirmed I am using a 64-bit compliant java:

Well, I redownloaded all five zip files for Linux 64 bit, and completely deleted my old bishiphome.
I then unzipped all five zip files into a brand new bishiphome, and retried the installation. This is still a Linux box with nothing on it but Linux, one Oracle 11gR2 database, rcu11.1.1.6, and attempting to install OBIEE 11.1.1.6.
Same result.
Still hangs at file copy, still has the same error message in the .out file.

Any other ideas? This is getting really frustrating!

I think it might be due to compatible issue.So check the properties of the install.exe file and change the compatability to windowsxp or windows 2003 ,then try to install .I think its going to work.Because i installed OBIEE10.1.3.4 on windows server 2008.

What step are you seeing this error (in the log) during your installation? Do you have 64 bit Windows 7 Professional and above? Please provide more details about the steps you took before seeing this error. Provide all the details you think might be necessary for someone here to be able to pin-point the issue.

Problems installing OBIEE 11g on Windows Server 2008 64 bit

Hi, I'm trying to install OBIEE 11g on Windows Server 2008 64 bit (standard edition, SP2), and it's blowing up running the installer. The installer gets past the first couple of "info" screens, but blows up prior to coming to the first "real" screen with an error:

Just to close the loop on this thread, this does indeed seem to be some sort of font / java issue on our servers. I've been completely unable to get the install to work using the GUI. However, if I run it from command line using the -silent and -response paramaters along with a proper response file, the install went perfectly. I'm going to continue working the SR with Oracle - don't want to be stuck using -silent mode when things get more complicated, but at least now I can move forward.
If anyone else has a better workaround - please let me know. "Silent" mode is workable, but difficult and time consuming.

1. uninstall obiee 2. drop the repository 3, remount /tmp folder
with this we could successfully install obiee 11.1.1.7

I am trying to install OBIEE 11.1.1.5 in windows xp 32 bit.
I downloaded all the disks and now i am trying to install.
Disk1->setup.exe when i run i am getting this problem like JRE is not found inside the bin/javaw So pls install jre 1.3.1 or higher.
I went to programs->java->
I have jre1.6.0_25 (which just noew i recently installed) and jre6 (which was already there)
But still when i run i get this error?

1. A database with fusion middleware repository installed
* Create by running the RCU Install
* Be sure to use the correct matching RCU version 11.1.1.5
2. Select an installation directory with no spaces in the name
**** All components are now on port 7001. For example 9704 is no longer the port for analytics, because everything is now installed in a single WebLogic container.

1> Run setup
2> Click next
3> Select skip software updates, click next
4> Select simple install, next
5> Check should be successful (requires a min of 2GB RAM), Click next to proceed
6> Select install location, next
7> Enter password for weblogic, next
8> Select products to install,Select all, Click next
9> For the BIPLATFORM Schema Enter the connection and schema information from the RCU recipe, Click next
10> The MDS Schema login information will be populated, for trivial install we don't changes this, click next
11> Security updates, opt out of security updates, Click next
12> Review installation summary, Click install to proceed
13> Install proceeds
14> The configuration process proceeds, if you get an error here it is likely a resource issue like not enough memory.
15> The installer completes.

Installed OBIEE on laptop without loopback adapter

Hello there
I have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on my personal laptop which was on DHCP network and connected to Wi-Fi. However prior to installation i did not install & configure the loopback adapter. Now when i try to go out of my Wi-Fi network and its not on any network hence looses the IP address, the server fails to start correctly and throws following error 'could not get secure socket for host and port 9501'. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

"If you attempt to install on a Windows machine that is using DHCP, does not have a primary DNS suffix, and does not have a loopback adapter configured, then the Oracle BI installer will stop at the screen prompting for the Administrator user details. This appears as a red cross in the tree on the left hand side of the installer. This issue is caused by the installer not being able to resolve the IP address to a hostname.The workaround is to configure a loopback adapter or primary DNS suffix"
Have you tried to set up the loopback and also the etc/hosts file and re-install?
