Installing OEM Control Grid in existing database

Hello,
We have a server (Windows 2003 R2 SP1) with 9.2.0.7 installed (all is ok).
Install 10.2.0.1 server => OK
Creating database Orcl (10.2.0.1) => OK
Patch to 10.2.0.3 => OK
Upgrade database Orcl to 10.2.0.3 => OK
Install Control Grid 10.2.0.2 => Error in OMS configuration
When I look in the log file (HOME\oms10g\sysman\log ), i see :
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-28000: the account is locked
when he has tried to create the repository. So, I unlock sysman account and rerun the OMS configuration from OUI => same error.
I've tried that solution found in the forum...
drop user sysman cascade;
drop user MGMT_VIEW cascade;
drop role MGMT_USER;
drop public synonym SETEMVIEWUSERCONTEXT;
...and rerun OMS configuration from OUI => same error, account sysman locked.
I unlock it and rerun again => account sysman still locked.
I've no solution, can someone help me, please ?
PS: sorry for my poor english

There's a generic issue with your configuration (version 10.2.0.3 as repository), this is the message from Oracle:
Upgrade Alert:
The Oracle Database Patchset 10.2.0.3 was recently released. This alert is to inform customers that Enterprise Manager 10g currently does not support running the EM Repository in a 10.2.0.3 Oracle Database. The first release of EM that will support the EM Repository in a 10.2.0.3 database will be EM 10.2.0.3.
Do not apply the database patchset to the EM repository database at this time.

  • How to install OEM 10g using an existing database on another host

    Hi,
    I've created a 10g database (on host solaris_x86) which I like to use for the OEM 10G GC (on host linux_x86).
    If I install OEM using existing DB, then the installer expect the database is running locally.
    If I install OEM using new DB, then the installer complains that I've less then 1GB memory.
    Does somebody know how to solve this?

    Something is wrong ... Remote database works fine.
    we are using Tru64 OMS against Windows DB.

  • Installing Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Using an Existing Database

    I want to install Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control 10.2.0.3 using an existing database. This database is RAC 10.2.0.2. and I use it as Infrastructure Metadata Repository.
    I is said in Oracle documentation that SYSMAN schema has to be dropped, thus Database console repository has to be dropped. As far as I understand after Grid Control installation I will not be able to use Database console for my RAC 10.2.0.2 Infrastructure Metadata Repository database. I will be able to use only Grid Control for this database.
    Am I right? Could you give me any advice about Installing Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Using an Existing Database?

  • How to figure out server has capacity to install OEM 10 Grid control

    How to figure out server has capacity to install OEM 10 Grid control
    Hi Experts
    I have HP_UX 11.11 server which has 1 instance on it with version 10.2.0.1.0.
    Now I would like to install Grid control with a separate instance for repository.
    I was told I would need 2 GB Ram for OMS and 2 GB Ram for instance.
    Now how do I figure out if my server has enough resources from Ram perspective
    Following is output from top and vmstat
    1. for top it says 3045556K free , now is this free memory virtual(real +swap) or real?
    2. as per top I only have free 3GB(3045556K) , so does that mean I can not have OMS & repository on
    this server ?
    3. In vmstat I see free memory as 762335
    in man it says free - Size of the free list
    what does this mean, how much is my free meemory ?
    4. For OMS I read - It is a J2EE application that is installed and deployed using Oracle
    Application Server
    Now when I look at top I see these processes
    0 ? 26521 oasadm 152 20 1517M 1141M run 3:49 2.53 2.52 java
    0 ? 3377 oasadm 152 20 1657M 1276M run 54:49 1.88 1.88 java
    Does oasadm user means Oracle application server ? If yes does it mean I will not
    need 2GB for OMS ?

  • OEM 10g grid control using an existing database

    Hello all,
    Has anyone been successful in installing Enterprise Manager 10g Grid
    Control (10.1.0.3) using and existing 10g (10.1.0.3) database?
    10g grid control comes with 9.0.5.0 database for it repository. Since
    this respository can not be update to 10.1.0.3, Oracle recommends using
    and existing 10g database instead.
    My installation goes 90% all the way before it fails. It fails at the
    create repository point.
    If any one has been successful, could you please share your success
    with me.
    Thanks,
    Jake

    Well, finally I did it! :)
    The problem comes when you are trying to install OEM repository into existing 10g DB which used to be configured with a standalone Database Control. Dropping SYSMAN user is not enough!!! There are some leftovers which must be cleaned before running repository creation assistant:
    drop user SYSMAN cascade;
    drop user MGMT_VIEW cascade;
    drop role MGMT_USER;
    drop public synonym MGMT_TARGET_BLACKOUTS;
    drop public synonym SETEMVIEWUSERCONTEXT;
    That's all folks.

  • Problems Installing Oracle Metadata Repository into Existing Database

    Folks,
    I'm slowly going through the process of installing the Metadata Repository into a 10g database, using RepCA I've managed to determine all the DB parameters required for setting etc. The only thing RepCA now reports is missing is the Ultrasearch schema & packages.
    I've copied the ultrasearch dirs from the RepCA distribution and placed them in my $ORACLE home dir, I've also attempted to run the admin install script 'wk0setup.sql' which throws out several errors listed below. If anyone has successfully gone through this process on Solaris I would love to hear your about your experience & advice.

    Hi guys,
    I have used copy of that package from Oracle Identity Management installation, version 10.1.4.0.1 and have been able to complete manual Ultra Search installation. It's valid in dba_registry. After that I did run RepCA and metadata schemas have been created successfully in existing database, version 10.2.0.2. Be careful about database version, only 10.2.0.2 is certified with Oracle Identity management, so you need to run patch for upgrade to 10.2.0.2.
    Hope this helps.

  • Install with a copy of existing database

    I am wondering if anybody had tried this:
    suppose you have a LiveCycle ES 8.0 running, all's well; let's call this system "A".
    now, you need to bring up another LC ES system on a separate server machine. let's call this system "B".
    But, since there are 2000 forms/processes in system "A" already,
    and you don't want to Import + Configure all those 2000 forms from "A" to "B", because it's a time-consuming, tedious and extremely boring work.
    So, is it possible to
    make a copy of the LCES database of system "A",
    and,
    during the install/configure/deploy LC ES onto "B", we configure "B" to connect to the COPY of the database (instead of letting the configuration manager configure/initialize a brand new database for B).
    would that work?
    if so, what would be the exact procedure?
    thanks

    Hello,
    Maybe the TargetDatabase and the DeployToDatabase properties can help you.
    http://www.asp.net/web-forms/tutorials/deployment/web-deployment-in-the-enterprise/deploying-database-projects
    You can deploy multiples databases from one project if you want, as explained on the following
    post:

    Hope this helps.

  • Install of OEM 10g Grid controll on windows break my listener

    Hi!
    I install OEM 10g Grid controll to Windows 2000 server, successfully (a new database to the repository also was created by the installer).
    When I restart our server the service of the Listener did not started (it was set to automatic) and I did not able to start it.
    First I see the "Listener.log" and the trace file.
    The problem was that the listener intended to load adapter protokoll and refer to the "orantcp9.dll"!
    Because before the install I create a 10.1.0.2 database the path of the file point to the "Db_1\bin" and here is "orantcp10.dll" exists.
    The "orantcp9.dll" is exists in "em_1\bin".
    What and how can I fix?
    An additional question : during my secont installation I select to create the repository into an existing database, but the installer refuse it because my DB version was 10.1.0.2 and not 10.1.0.3.
    How can I create DB with 10.1.0.3 version on Windows?
    I am in a deadlock :-)
    Regards,
    Imre

    Try MetaLink Doc Id 284680.1
    The issue was that the EM Grid Control created an ORACLE_HOME environment variable. All you have to do is delete the variable, move the Database Oracle Home entries in the path to the front, and reboot the server.

  • Installing OEM 10g (10.2.0.1) Grid Control on Linux86

    Hi friends,
    I have successfully installed OEM Grid in our RHEL 4.6 server (1st time).
    At the end of the installation I got this message:
    See below for information pertaining to your Enterprise Manager installation:
    1. Use the following URL to access the Enterprise Manager Grid Control:
    http://server01.ebiztech.biz:4889/em
    2. The Enterprise Manager installation includes an Oracle Application Server instance, which is administered using a special "ias_admin" user account. The following information was defaulted for the embedded Application Server instance:

    3. The connection details for the Enterprise Manager Repository are:
    Host: server01.ebiztech.biz

    SID: emrepI can do #1, and #3.
    How do I access #2? what is the URL corresponding to it? Or is it done through SQLPlus?
    Thanks a lot,
    Ms K

    Thanks Raj,
    Of course I will upgrade it, but for now I am still cramming on how to complete my installation huhuhhu:(
    Firstly....
    How do you install management agent for linux86?
    I have already installed OEM 10g Grid Control OMS on my linux sever which also has EBS R12.1.
    Do I need to install a "management agent" on this server, to be able to manage my EBS R12.1?
    Secondly....
    I want to manage our EBS 11i which resides on another server (remote).
    I downloaded the Linux_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_2_0.zip file from OTN,
    and put it to the target server.
    I unzip it following the readme.txt to the
    1. Download the Linux_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_2_0.zip file from OTN.
    2. Copy the downloaded file to <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0 directory.(create <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0 directory, if it doesn't exist.)
    3. cd <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0
    4. <OMS_HOME>/bin/unzip Linux_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_2_0.zip
    5. If agent_download.rsp doesn't exists at <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0 directory then:
        a. mv agent_download.rsp.bak agent_download.rsp
        b. edit agent_download.rsp and modify s_OMSHost="%s_hostname%" and s_OMSPort="%s_OMSPort%" with the correct OMSHost and OMSPort values.(However, even if you are specifying a secure Management Service, you must still enter the non-secure port number here)
            eg. s_OMSHost="stadv26.us.oracle.com"
                s_OMSPort="4889"
    6. Edit <OMS_HOME>/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0/linux/agentDownload.linux and modify OMShost=%s_OMSHost% and httpPort=%s_OMSPort% with the correct OMSHost and OMSPort.(However, even if you are specifying a secure Management Service, you must still enter the non-secure port number here)
       For eg. OMShost =stadv26.us.oracle.com
               httpPort=4889
    7. Follow the agentDownload instructions from 5.4 section of Oracle Enterprise Manager Installation and Basic Configuration Guide.But when I got to #7 ....the documentation is not clear, as usual there are lots of injected unrelated topics which make the documentation "topsiturvy" and very hard to follow.
    Can you just tell me, based on your experience how to install the agent? Someone told me to run OUI?
    But I can not find it on the unzip >Linux_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_2_0.zip file
    Thanks a lot.

  • Install APEX to work on existing Oracle 10g R1 database

    I want to use APEX on an existing Oracle 10g R1 database. If I install it normally with the program downloaded from your site, it installs its own database that you use.
    How can I set / install it to use the existing database instead of its own database?
    Elsie Pretorius

    Hi guys,
    Thanks for the info and input. Is there anybody have sucessfully done this. Most of the info that out there, the README in the patchset all pointing to upgrading the OCS, not installing the OCS on top of an existing 10g AS and DB. I'm thinking installing the OCS R2, and then patching and upgrade it to 9.0.4.2 or 4.3 and then point or move it to the existing 10AS and DB. This is where I'm quit blur at the moment.
    Anyway thank for all the info.
