Installing of 2 Versions Photoshop?

Hello guys, just wonder whether it is possible to install the new version of CS4, while keeping my older CS3 installed at the same computer? Or is it not possible to have installed 2 different versions of the same application on the same disk? One person told me that he is working on his computer with three versions of Photoshop on one computer.

If you want or need CS3 on the same computer you need to install CS3 first. all versions prefs are separate

Installing the educational version Photoshop CS6 Extended

I have the CD version of Photoshop CS6 (educational version). I have received my verificaton serial number.
However when I try to install it it only asks for a 6 digit number? Which I dont have. I have tried logging onto the education site but I am still asked for a 6 digit number.
Please can you advise?

My full version photoshop elements 12 suddenly became a trial version. Help needed

I have installed my full version photoshop elements 12 via my dvd installer from mediamarkt and after 2 days...i cannot launch photoshop elements and says that my trial version has expired. I tried to uninstall and install the software 3 times. The fourth time I downloaded the Photoshop Elements Trial Version from Adobe website and used my serial number. Still it did not work and it continues to say that TRIAL VERSION HAS EXPIRED. Can anybody help me? Thanks.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

I think you mean Photoshop CS2. Photoshop 2 is from around 1992. The old Adobe activation servers were taken down. CS2 is about a decade old Adobe made a new download for old customers that legal customers can download and install. Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products

What "app cleaner software" ? I ask because installing Photoshop over a previous version has never been a problem. Perhaps your difficulty stems from another source, eg. "cleaner software" ?
If you look in your hard drive, at the root level there is a Library. In there is a folder called Application Support, and in that you will find a folder called Adobe. Files from your previous version are there.
However, I urge you to call Adobe support to make sure you are not doing anything that would mess up other Adobe applications.

I currently use a PowerPC G5 running OS 10.5.8. The G5 uses the old processors and Photoshop CS5 upgrade won't load because Photoshop CS5 only runs on the new Intel processors. My question: If I buy a new iMac with the Intel processors, is there a way to install a full version of Photoshop 6, and upgrade for Photoshop 7, CS, CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5? When my daughter tried this approach, and tried to install the full version of CS 6, she received the message Classic OS was not installed so that ended the attempt. Another, often cheaper, route to upgrade is to find an older version upgrade and do a two step upgrade since you are out of the Adobe window.
You may be able to find a CS3 upgrade, buy that. Then purchase the CS5 upgrade.

Thanks for your help Jeff. When I put serial# in, it won't except it.... I think it wants to see a previous version in my pc because my serial is for an upgrade, but when it put in a serial# for version cs5 it still wont except. Do you think i have to install cs5 first (which is also an upgrade).. which will require that I put in version cs4 etc,.etc., etc.

Like any other program - double-click the setup.exe on the DVD. You merely have disabled auto-play on your system.
