Installing Office Home & Student 2013

Hi,
I recently purchased Office Home & Student 2013, but every time I try installing it give an error message that MS Windows applications are not supported on OS 7. What must I do?
Thanks

Well, two possibilities:
You are indeed attempting to install that app suite on an iOS 7 device (which would would be an iPad, iPhone, or iPad). I have no idea how you are attemtping this, but no it will not run on such a device. You will need to find the equivalent apps on the app store.
You are actually try to install on your MBP running OS X (not the same thing), but it is the Windows version, in which case the same is true. You need to purchase the version of MS Office for Mac OS X. http://www.microsoft.com/mac

  • Can't download the Office Home & Student 2013

I just purchased the download for Office Home & Student 2013 and I tried to download it and it told me that it couldn't find the "setwaitabletimerex" in the kernel32.dll.  I have Window Vista.  I really need to get this fixed as
soon as possible.  Please email me back with the fix.

If you have already purchased office 2013, Consider upgrading your operating system to windows 7 or 8.. That will cost you less than repurchasing office..
Or for vista you can install office 2010..

  • Cant reinstall office Home&Student 2013

I have installed this office Home&Student 2013 before and everything works fine, but after I accidently uninstalled it in control panel and trying to reinstall it, it came up with this "Couldnt start office installation. We're sorry, but we could
not start your office installation. Another installation is in progress. Please try again later" so I tried many times later and still come up with this

    Hi,
This issue occurs since there is another version of Office installed on the computer.
Let us remove all traces of Office 2013 installation files from the computer by following the steps from the link below:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501
Then we install Office 2013 suit again.
    Hope it’s helpful.

  • Message Error : Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is not installed - Office Home & Business 2013 - Lync 2013

    Hi,
I have an issue related to Office h&b 2013 and Lync 2013.
Office h&b is installed on many computers, and we are deploying Lync 2013.
In Lync 2013 it's possible to share Powerpoint presentation (if you have a Office Web Apps server installed).
With a PC using Office Pro 2013, no problem. Powerpoint sharing with Lync 2013 is working.
    With a PC using Office H&B 2013, I have a message :
"XXXXX.pptx couldn't be converted for presentations because Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is not installed on this computer. Please
    install VBA and try again."
VBA is installed and usable in all Office applications.
Office H&B is a click to Run installation and doesn't permit to add or remove features.
Lync 2013 custom install permit to choose the installed features. VBA is already installed.
I searched in many forums, including this one, and... no answers, or better say, no good answers.
    Because :
    - It's not possible add VBA from Office H&B 2013 install.
    - Repairing Office does not solve the problem.
    Any Idea ?
    Thanks for your help !
    Regards
    Stéphane

As far as I know, Lync 2013 is not available with Office Home & Business 2013, you can check

Yes, it's true, Lync 2013 is not part of Office home & Business 2013, but you can install,it as standalone product.

  • OEM Office Home & Student 2013 turned into Office 365 while being helped by tech support

After a recovery necessitated by being unable to open any Office progam I got with tech support.  I didn't have the key for the preloaded 2013 H&S version.  The tech did some magic by remote access and got Office going.  It looked a bit different and I asked if this was the installed version.  He said sure, it's all fine.  As it turns out, it is the full version of Office 365.
Now I'm getting nagged to pay up before  the beginning of next month.  I wanted my OEM Office back, not the subscription version.  How do I get it back?  Didn't get a disk or key with the machine.

I understand that your notebook came with Office Home and Student 2013.  You were experiencing a difficulty with this and contacted HP support.  You were unaware at the time but they installed Office 360 and now you are getting a prompt to pay for it.
I do not believe that recovery manager would reinstall the Office Home and Student so I suggest contacting HP support again. Provide in detail the event that occurred and they can pull up the previous case number and see what was done and provide any additional details required.

    Hi,
Did the issue occur when you opened the file that stored in the local disk or a network?
If the issue occurred with the local disk file, please try the following method:
    Word
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Word.Document.12\Shell\Open\Command
    Rename Subkey “Command” to “Old_Command”
    Rename Key “ddeexec” to “Old_ddeexec”
Using FileType Manager change .xls from Word.Sheet.8 to Word.Sheet.12 In the Open Command appended “%1”
.docx In the Open Command appended “%1”
    Excel
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Excel.sheet.12\Shell\Open\Command
    Rename Subkey “Command” to “Old_Command”
    Rename Key “ddeexec” to “Old_ddeexec”
Using FileType Manager change .xls from Excel.Sheet.8 to Excel.Sheet.12 In the Open Command appended “%1”
.xlsx In the Open Command appended “%1”
    ========
Next, if the issue occurred with network file, the issue may be caused by the Office File Validation, please try to turn off it to test.
    For Excel 2013
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Excel\Options
Look for a DWORD value labeled DisableRobustifiedUNC set to a value of 1. If this is set on your machine, it's recommended you delete this value or set the DWORD value to 0.

  • Time Machine and MS Office Home Student

I attached a new hard drive to my MacBook Pro and launched TM and let it do a full back up. Upon completion I could no longer access my MS Office Home & Student version - I got a message that MS was already in use(meaning that the license was in use on another computer). I had to erase the back up, de-install MS, re-install MS and apply three layers of upgrades - and then MS worked. I also excluded applications and system stuff from TS. No bootable HD here.
The MS license allows for three installs, each with its own product id.
I have MS office on my Imac and it has a TS back up as well.
Is this problem because MS considers a TS full back up a machine and count it against the license (My IMAC, its TS drive, the TS drive on the MacBookPro?
    And advice?

No, MS does not consider a backup a use of the license. You can use a license as often as you want on the same computer. The three serial numbers simply allow you to install Office on three different machines.

  • How to apply an Outlook 2013 Open license to a pre-installed Office Home and Business 2013 installation for Email Auto Archiving functionality

    We're deploying new Dell pc's.
Unfortunately we have a large existing install base of Office Home and Business in the field due to customers buying Office bundled on Dell machines.  Buying Open License Outlook licenses is more cost effective than upgrading to Office Pro Plus for all
these users and is our preferred path.  We aren’t sure how to apply these Open License Outlook licenses since the Home and Business installations work off a single license key for all the applications

    Hi,
Isn't the Office bundled on Dell machines already activated?
If it's the OEM version that has been installed on the machines and you want to use retail product keys to activate the Office, it's not possible. You will need to uninstall the OEM version and install the retail version.
You can check the OEM licensing system here:

  • Office 2013 OEM and Office Home & Business 2013 registration

    Hi to all,
in our company we brought some Office 2013 OEM licenses and 1 Home and Business 2013. The problem is that i have registered the OEMs with my personal Microsoft account and now i need to register the Home and Business and i want to avoid to register it with
    this. Then, my questions are:
    1. What is the procedure to register a Microsoft company account.
    2. Is there the possibility to move OEM license from my personal account to a the company account ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I noticed that the questions were about licensing rather than Office client issues, please understand we discuss questions and feedbacks about Office client in this forum, we are not familiar with the procedure/migration you mentioned.

  • Office H&B 2013 Custom Install

I have ordered several computers with Microsoft Office Home & Business 2013.  These are stand alone systems with no internet connection, so I need to be able to uninstall certain components that cannot be used, such as outlook, onenote, etc.
I have tried changing the configuration via the control panel, but it requires an internet connection to continue.  When I install from the installation media, there is no prompt to customize the installation.  I cannot uninstall components via uninstall
strings listed in the registry because each component isn't listed.  Can anybody help me figure out how to do a custom install?  These computers are not networked and do not have an internet connection, nor can they at all.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi,
I still have some questions regarding the issue, kindly let me know more details so that I can understand the scenario more clearly.
    1. How did you purchase Office at the beginning?
    2. Was Office installed via Click-to-Run? If no, what was the installation media in your post?
    3. When it required internet connection, what message did it prompt?
I was thinking you were using a Click-to-Run version of Office, that's why an internet connection was required. But I still can't be sure what installation media you referred to.
    Looking forward to your reply.

  • Exchange Online Plan 1 use with Office Home and Business 2013 License

Question: Does the Office Home & Business 2013 Outlook work properly with Exchange Online Plan 1?  (are there limitations?)
As a farm dealership needing 44 licenses (very light Office product use except email), I'm struggling with the sustaining cost of Office365 Bus Prem.  I've pretty much settled on buying Outlook 2013 instead of any subscription models.  Office Home
and Business list price is $219 making a one time purchase cost $9639. I can do that once. (O365BP is $7,920 annual).   Outlook 2013 stand-a-lone will run me around $3500 once plus $2112 annual.  I'd really like the full office package.  I wish
the pricing worked out better for rural, light use businesses.

  • MS Office Home and Student 2010

I have happily used MS Office on my Windows 7 laptop for past 3 years. It has been upgrading automatically.
Today I found myself unable to use Excel & Word files. The message that came up was:
