Installing old version without CD

I have elements 9 on my dell that was installed with enclosed cd. I now have a mac without the cd drive and would like to reinstall on new computer. can this be done through the Internet without purchasing again? how can i do this? adobe chat support said they couldn't help me with previous versions.

That's normally true with Adobe non-Cloud software.
The exceptions are Elements and Lightroom which both come with cross-platform serial numbers.

I don't know why a PSE9 serial number for Dell/Windows is not being accepted on a Mac in this case unless there's a rare exception for version 9 serial numbers which came with boxed product versus download (per my footnote in the thread to which I've linked above). That exception no longer applies to current versions. All I can suggest is that scrapgirl46 contacts Adobe to confirm.

You can't, it was built-in to iOS and is not in the store. Google are supposed to be working on app version of maps, and in the meantime you could try accessing it via Safari : http://maps.google.com

The easiest way it to have one version be a Firefox Portable installation. The Portable installation is self-contained and won't affect your "regular" Firefox installation.

Overall you are probably better off replacing your current Firefox 3.6.25 version with the Portable Apps version - http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36 - and install Firefox 9.0.1 as your "regular" installation.

Installing old version

The weirdest thing happen. My computer died and I had to reinstall Windows and practically everything else. I managed to install Adobe Reader 6 or 7 (I have both) from my back-up drive. It worked fine for a few days. Then yesterday all of a sudden it was gone. It's still on my backup. I can move from E (the backup) to C but I can't figure out how to install it. I don't know how I did it in the first place. I don't see anything that looks like it says "click here to install".
I tried downloading version 9 and gave up. I have the same problem as everyone else, it gets to 99.9% on the installation and then quits. I tried the link to download just the reader and not that other junk and the same thing happened. So I'd just like to go back to one of my old versions.
Now if I got into E, I can run the old reader then open my document from there. So it does work. I just can't figure out how to install it on C.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Oh, I'm running Windows XP.

Your mistake was trying to re-install an application from a backup.
Applications should always be installed from the installer program.
Installing from a backup, doesn't configure the registry properly,
unless you are restoring a full backup or a disk image.
You should try the microsoft installer cleanup. Then you should install
which every version of Reader is most appropriate.

Install old version of Premiere Pro in Windows 8.1

I have an old version of Premiere Pro. The disc just says Adobe Premiere Pro and has the picture of the horse on it. It also says Windows XP. It previously worked on a PC running Windows XP (I think SP2 but cant remember). I would now like to install it on a laptop running Window 8.1. It goes through the install process then gives a message about DirectX. You can then choose to continue anyway but it doesn't install properly. I have tried installing it in compatibility mode but it still didn't work. Can anyone help? I need step by step instructions as I don't understand anything too technical! Many thanks

If DirectX is the hold-up, you will need to run the DX legacy installer from Microsoft to install the DX 9 runtimes. Otherwise I don't think you will have much luck on that one... The versions with the horse are pre-CS and that is like 15 years ago. Even if it installs, you may not be able to actually work with it because e.g. the program may not be able to invoke file dialogs to actually open projects and there may be any number of other compatibility issues.

Need help with installing old version of firmware

I would like to revert to an old version of firmware for my Airport Extreme base station. I have read in a number of postings that this would possibly help with the problem of my Canon Pixma ip3000 not working after the firmware was usdated. When I tried to install the old firmware, the Installer would not allow it, there was just a message that the software was up to date. Could anyone please give a step by step description of how this can be done? Is there a way around the Installer? Thanks.

The firmware supplied with the base station was 4.1. After installing it, everything worked just fine, including wireless printing to a Canon Pixma ip3000. At one point, after being prompted by a message onscreen to upgrade to 4.2, I did the download and installation, and that is when all the problems started. No wireless printing, and I can't seem to use the Airport Admin or Assistant (not responding). Since then I have also upgraded the OS to 10.4.5.
I am trying to downgrade to 4.1 since that is what worked initially and what was suggested in another posting I read.
I did look at the information for the various parts of Airport and noticed that the Setup Asistant is 4.2, the Admin Utility is 4.2 and the base station is 5.5.1. Could this be affecting the problem as well?

Installing Old Version of iLife?

If I were to install iLife 06 from its install disk on a MBP that had iLife 09 pre installed, does the old version over-write the newer one? (I seem to recall that when I upgraded from 06 to 08 on my iMac, at least some of the files were over-written.)
What I'm trying to achieve is to have the option of using iMovie HD on the MBP. Although I seldom use any flavor of iMovie, it would be a nice option to have if I'm not going to mess up up a machine that's working perfectly now. (The iLife 06 is not being used on either machine so I don't think I'd be violating the SLA.)
If anyone has tried something like this, I'd appreciate any feedback on how it went.

tech guy and he told me download old versions of Macromedia Flash
at the website below. He said the site is very helpful and totally
legit. I'm trying it tonite myself. Unfortunately, they only do

CS4 Updater Wants to Install Old Version?

This really is a problem problem, but it's strange. I updated Fireworks this afternoon by downloading the DMG and running the installer because the update wasn’t showing up in the updater. The manual update worked fine, but now when I run the updater from the Help menu, it wants to install the old version (10.0.3). Strange.

I have an old version of Photoshop LE (and PageMaker 6.5). It has always re-installed as I have purchased new computers over the years until now. Can Adobe send me an update of some sort so this program will work? I hate to have to buy it again!

Safari.1.1lion when i open a new window it opens as the old version without the reading list button or the download button why is that ?

so i downloaded the new safari version safari.1.1lion and i installed it and i love it but when i open a new window or i close safari and open it again it opens like the old version (the safari leopard ) it doesnt have the doenload button or the reading list button . it only opens as the new version if i restart the computer why is that.

I did find the problem... It was the DivX Plugin for Firefox. I just found I wasn't using it. I went to Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled it. FYI I am running Windows 7.

We have removed the dependency for JQuery in the latest version. Some of the basic selectors of JQuery are implemented as part of the new runtime.
If you want anything more than what is supported, which JQuery provides you can use it by adding it to the scripts.

How to install old version of Java

Hello,
I need to install an old version of Java for a program we use. I know, they really need to update it but they aren't going to update it within the next few days so I'm trying to get this to work.
Is there any way to install Java 1.6_35 or lower? I'm having problems finding the download for it and getting it installed. I'm running 10.8.4.
