You can get the family pack for $20 more.
Apple does not check this, so it is on the honor system.

Photoshop cs4 says it's already installed on two machines

I have Photoshop CS4 installed on two computers. I've been using it on the 1st computer for several weeks. However, today, I opened it on my 2nd computer for the first time, and it says I've already got it installed on two other computers, and have 30 days to de-activate it on one of the other computers. But I only have it installed on two computers PERIOD. Anyone know about this? How to fix? thanks!

you need to call customer service so they can reset your activation count. probably won't be in tomorrow, i'd guess...

No if you purchased an upgrade you will be asked to enter your qualifying serial number. For Lightroom this will be during the first launch.

Same Safari, same version, same OS, but behaves differently on two machines

I have Safari 5.1.1 installed on two machines. Both have 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.1 installed but some web pages look differently on both machines. There seems to be a problem with browser window sizes. Hmmm ...

Could it be that the software on the installer CDs and via Software Update is "different" from the file I am able to download from Apple's own company website? Hu ... can you make it more complicated?

Installed firefox on two machines and created sync account on one. The other one does not sync

I just freshly installed the latest Firefox on two machines. Created a new account on one of them and started to download some add-ons and changed the preferences, then got to the other and signed in. It finished syncing but none of my changes were applied to the second machine.

Right now the add-ons got synced but the customization I did to the looks of it did not.
These customizations are: moving the home button right next to the back button and removing the search bar.
Conclusion: it takes a while(about an hour!!!!!) to sync these stuff, at least that is what happened with me though my connection was normal and not slow at all.

Normally Microsft allows the installation of their programs, except Operating Systems, to be installed on a desktop and notebook at the same time as long as both system are used exclusively by the same person and Not at the same time.
So this should also be true for MS Office for Mac. The only way to tell is to install it on the Mini and then use the same key to activate it. If the activation goes through you are fine. But if you run both system at the same time do not open any of the Office programs on both system at the same time. That may trigger MS to disallow one of the activations.
MS Office for both Mac and Windows checks the local network and logs into the MS activation site everytime one of the apps is started to check current activation and to check if you have it running on more then one computer on your local network using the same key.

Your best bet is probably to start over by cleaning off the old software with the Adobe Cleaner tool:

Install photoshop element 8 in two machines

i have a copy of photoshop element_8. I installed in one personal computer (A). Then I installed the same copy in another computer (B). However, the second one had to be UN-installed (forgot the reason why). Now i just re-installed photoshop element_8 in the second machine (B) again, and it's telling me I have previously used up 2 licenses, and I only have 30 days left to use in the second machine (B). But, I am only installing my Photoshop Element_8 in TWO machines total. What do I do? Help!!

While the standalone version of LR has no deactivation, the Photography Program which is LR + PS-CC bundled and licensed through the Cloud will have a 2-activation limit per Adobe ID, and you cannot decouple the LR from the PS-CC in the Photographers Bundle.
You can license the cloud on up to two computers per AdobeID by signing into the cloud. When you try to sign in on a third computer you have the option to deactivate the other two copies, which you can do, and then never sign into the cloud on the one computer you don’t want activated and you’ll be fine.
