Installing Oracle 11.2.0.2 64-bit on Windows 2008 standard 64-bit
Getting an architecture error during the prerequisite checks:
Architecture - This is a prerequisite condition to test whether the system has a certified architecture.
Expected Value
: 64-bit
Actual Value
: 32-bit
List of errors:
PRVF-7535 : Proper architecture is not found on node "WS8-DBATEST" [Expected = "64-bit" ; Found = "32-bit"] - Cause: System architecture does not meet the requirement. - Action: Ensure that the correct software bundle is being used.
This is in a VM test environment as we prepare to move to 64-bit. The server is windows 2008 standard and the processor is AMD64 Family 16 Model 9. I have verified the OS is 64 bit by running Winver and verified the CPU is 64bit by running systeminfo. What am I missing?
Is this still a bug? I am encountering this now. Windows server 2008 Standard R2 64 bit.
I need both 32 bit client and 64 bit client for EPM 11.1.2.2 and the order mentioned in that documentation is
first 32 bit and then 64 bit. Is there a fix for this ?

HassanYou said, "...+I would like to install Release 2(11.1.1.2.0)+ ...". Be careful. 11.1.1.2.0 is not Release 2. The version for Rel 2 is 11.1.2.0, notice that there is one less "1". Also, there is no way to patch from Release 1 to Release 2.
In EDelivery, this is what you should find if you search on "Oracle Fusion Middleware" for "Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)":
First look for this link then drill into it:
Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Media Pack for Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)
In this section you will find the following:
This is the full product installation of FMw 11 Release 2 (Forms & Reports)
Oracle Forms and Reports 11g R2 (11.1.2.0.0) for Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) V28761-01
This is the full product installation of FMw 11 Release 1 (includes Portal, Forms, Reports, and Disco)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 1 of 4) V18785-01
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 2 of 4)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 3 of 4)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 4 of 4)
This is the FMw 11 Release 1 patch set that will bring the above 11.1.1.2.0 installation to 11.1.1.6. This is NOT a full product installation - just a patch
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Patch Set 5 (11.1.1.6.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) V29850-01
There are no patch sets for Release 2 as of yet. -

I would like to install CDAA(Oracle Content Database Archive Adapter) on 32 bit and 64 bit windows. Will somebody point me to where i can download this from (if its not free i would like to try out trial version first) . If it depends upon other oracle components what is that i need to install additionally . And if you could provide links to all the required components, it would be great help.
Also if there is any demo from where i can see what all features CDAA support and how does it compare to other products say IBM commonstore etc , please let me know.

Installing Oracle BI EE 10.1.3.3 on Windows XP
Hello all,
When I try to install Oracle BI EE 10.1.3.3 on Windows XP I get the following error:
Oracle Business Intelligence is not supported on this Windows version. Oracle Business Intelligence is only supported on Windows XP x86, Windows 2003 x86, Windows 2003 AMD64, Windows 2003 EM64T, Windows Vista x86, Windows Vista AMD64, Windows Vista EM64T, and Windows 2000 x86.
Anyone ever experienced the same problem?
I am using Windows XP Professional Edition SP2
Thanks.
Daan BakboordHere's the short version of my fix on a Latitude 830.
systeminfo.exe is dependent upon Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
I downloaded WMIDiag from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d7ba3cd6-18d1-4d05-b11e-4c64192ae97d&displaylang=en
WMIDiag identified problems.
After some analysis, I decided that Broadcom ASF Management Application was the culprit. Yep, this is installed by Dell. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/software/smasf/en/port_ug/install.htm
Next, I removed the Broadcom ASF Management Application program from my machine. WMIDiag OK. systeminfo.exe OK.
Just for grins, I downloaded Broadcom ASF Management Application R59662.EXE from Dell and installed. WMI is OK. -
Can we Install Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0 on windows 7?
Hello,
Can we install Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0 on windows 7? I tried to run copy of JDeveloper on windows 7, few features were not able to view or run. For example, few items in menus were not appearing. On clciking on view, the tree sturcture on left side was not expading.
Is there any other way so that i can run my JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0? Plz help meYou can try installing the newer version of JDK1.5, you can get it from
http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/5.0_22/index.html
then, once you have installed it, rename ${JDEVELOPER_HOME}\jdk to ${JDEVELOPER_HOME}\jdk_old, and put your newly installed jdk in ${JDEVELOPER_HOME}\jdk
I resolved some problems doing that with my windows 7 and JDeveloper. Problems are caused by Aero.
Hope this helps

Hi,
I have Oracle 11g ODAC 11.1.0.6.21 installed on my Application server that has 32 bit Windows 2008 Standard. The Oracle database 10g is installed on another 2008 server. On database server I can connect using SQLPlus. But on application server I cannot connect using ODAC SQLPlus. I have given correct service name in tnsnames.ora file.
Error is ORA-12154 TNS: Listener cannot resolve service name
What's wrong? Is 11.1.0.6.21 not meant for Windows 2008? I did not get any errors while installing.
This 11.1.0.6.21 works perfectly for me on XP machine.
I have browsed this forum but not getting clear steps to peform.
Can someone guide me what is needed?
Thanks
ShriniHi,
The request to connect from the client is reaching the server but it seems the parsing of the service name is either wrong or the information is correct. Here are a couple of suggestions.
If you have a good known set of sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora files on another client where the same connection descriptor works, then backup the curreny client network config files and copy the good known files to the Windows 2008 web server where you see the error. Make sure you recycle the worker processes once the files have been copied.
Try to connect via Ezconnect and by pass the config files to see if you get the same error.
//hostname:port/servicenameofdb
where hostname is the machine where the target database is running
port is the port on the DB machine where the tns listener is running and listening
service name is the service name of the target DB
Use this syntax in the connect string box when attempting to connect from SQL PLUS out of the ODAC home.
You can also run lsnrctl utility on the server and vertify there is a handler for the service name or instance that is the target,

Install Oracle 11.2.0.3 32Bit Client on Window 7 x64
Good morning,
I just tried to install the new Oracle 11.2.0.3 32Bit Client on Windows 7 x64, most of it
works - just the OLEDB drivers are not registered ... does anyone know
how to register them manually ? the 11.2.0.2 Client works fine ....
And please don't answer "use the 64 Bit client". This is not the solution - since I have
a lot of programs that still need the 32 Bit Client ...
By the way the update from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.3 does not work ... the installer fails ....
Thanks for any info.

Re: Not able to install oracle database 11.2.0.2.0 in Windows 7
Hello,
I too am facing a similar issue while installing Oracle 12c Datbaase on a Virtual box machine with Windows 2008 R2 OS Image.
Cause - Failed to access the temporary location.
Action - Ensure that the current user has required permissions to access the temporary location.
Additional Information:
- Framework setup check failed on all the nodes
- Cause: Cause Of Problem Not Available
- Action: User Action Not Available
Summary of the failed nodes
ntejani-vbox2
- Version of exectask could not be retrieved from node "ntejani-vbox2"
- Cause: Cause Of Problem Not Available
- Action: User Action Not Available
My HOst machine is windows 7 and I have allocated 4GB of physical memory and 4 Processors to the Virtual Machine.
I believe this is a decent config for Oracle 12c Database. M also logging on to this system with a Admin Rights User and invoking the Installation using this User.
Earlier I had Oracle 11g Database installed on this along with Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control.
Recently I wanted to upgrade to Oracle 12c Database for which my multiple upgrade attempts failed with the above error. So I thought the system might be requiring some minimum. spare on the C Drive.
I decided to go ahead with Oracle 11g De-install and further attempted to install 12c Database. However the problem still persists .
Any help and clues on how to Resolve this issue is highly appreciated.
