Installing Oracle ebs 12.2.3 VM appliance on a Mac

I am trying to install the ebs VM template/appliance on VirtualBox on my MacBook but I've run into problems when trying to run visionappsconfig.sh. For some reason my local host name and domain appear as "unknown.Home". I have run configdhcp.sh but still find the same problem.
If anyone has successfully installed 12.2.3 on a Mac would greatly appreciate if you can you list the steps, I read somewhere the assemble.sh script needs to be slightly changed.

The content of etc/hosts file on the Guest is as below:
127.0.0.1      localhost.localdomain localhost
::1                 localhost6.localdomain6  localhost6
192.168.0.46 ebs.example.com ebs
host file on Mac:
127.0.0.1               localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
192.168.0.46        ebs.example.com ebs
::1                           localhost
fe80::1%lo0           localhost
I removed the vm and restarted this again and this time was able to run both visiondbconfig.sh and visionappsconfig.sh. I also added the 'then' in configuredhcp.sh and run that ok. However, when I now try and login via the browser using hxxp://ebs.example.com:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin - it states 'unable to connect'. Running startvisiondb.sh states '...cannot start already-running Oracle shut it down first' and running startvisionapps.sh makes reference to line 31 and returns 'no such file or directory'.
