  • Errors:Installing Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer on Win7

    Someone can help me?
I installed Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer on Win7.
    I have install:
    jdk 64bit
    Oracle db 11g (64bit)
    Oracle Weblogic 1033 (wls1033_generic.jar)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer (ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.2.0_64/ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.3.0_64)
Configure Components Screen:I just choose the Oracle Forms/reports Oracle Forms/reports builder Enterprise Manager Oracle Web Cache .
    Configure Ports Screen:Auto Port Configuration.
    Specify Proxy Details Screen:No
    Specify Application OID Screen:NO
But when I configure the "Configuring the Classic Instance" under the "Oracle Classic 11g-Home1". It's always pending in "Creating the domain". No any Error information.
    the related log information:
Creating a new AdminServer Object ...
    AdminServer port is 7001
    Starting the domain ...
    LOADING DLL : C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_2\install\config\\StartUtil64.dll

Since your weblogic is on version 10.3.3, you can only succesfully configure your fusion middleware when you are on version 11.1.1.3.
So (1) restart the install of fusion middleware 11.1.1.2, (2) choose install type INSTALL ONLY, (3) start installation of fusion middleware 11.1.1.3 and finally (4) configure fusion middleware using AS_ORACLE_HOME\bin\config.bat

  • Help in Installing Oracle Portal,Forms,Reports and Discoverer(11.1.1.2.0)

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Linux x86-64.
I have installed weblogic 10.3.5 generic jar file.
When i try to install forms and reports server the configuration step fails while creating weblogic domain.
Please help me installing portal and reports.
Is there any patch i am missing or the weblogic version is incorrect?
    Thanks.

You cannot configure Fmw 11.1.1.2 against WLS 10.3.5. They are not supported nor compatible.
If you want to use WLS 10.3.5, you need to "install" 11.1.1.2, but do not configure. That is an installation option. After you have successfully installed 11.1.1.2 you will need to patch it to 11.1.1.6. After patching, you then can run the configuration (config.bat).

Version 11 is far more complex than previous versions. I strongly encourage everyone to review the product documentation before trying to install. You can also refer to the following MyOracleSupport note:

You said, "...+I would like to install Release 2(11.1.1.2.0)+ ...". Be careful. 11.1.1.2.0 is not Release 2. The version for Rel 2 is 11.1.2.0, notice that there is one less "1". Also, there is no way to patch from Release 1 to Release 2.
In EDelivery, this is what you should find if you search on "Oracle Fusion Middleware" for "Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)":
First look for this link then drill into it:
Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Media Pack for Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)
In this section you will find the following:
This is the full product installation of FMw 11 Release 2 (Forms & Reports)
    Oracle Forms and Reports 11g R2 (11.1.2.0.0) for Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) V28761-01
This is the full product installation of FMw 11 Release 1 (includes Portal, Forms, Reports, and Disco)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 1 of 4) V18785-01
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 2 of 4)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 3 of 4)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 4 of 4)
This is the FMw 11 Release 1 patch set that will bring the above 11.1.1.2.0 installation to 11.1.1.6.  This is NOT a full product installation - just a patch
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Patch Set 5 (11.1.1.6.0) for Microsoft Windows x86 (64-bit) V29850-01
There are no patch sets for Release 2 as of yet.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for the reply Rohini.
The SYS password is change_on_install and SYSTEM password is manager. It still causes the same problem. The database I am using is an Oracle 8i database which is automatically created while installing Oracle 9iAS.
I also tried to install Oracle Portal on an Oracle 9i Database on the same machine and this comes out with a different error. It tells me the SHARED_POOL_SIZE is less than 31457280 whereas as I checked through SQL*Plus its actually much more than that!
    Can you please help?
    Thanks,

  • How do I install Oracle Portal 10g?

I have installed OracleAS 10g. What should I download now in order to install Oracle Portal 10g?

    ikaros wrote:

You need to have an infrastructure as a pre-requisite for a portal type OAS installation.
Please see this [link and the whole guide - click Content on the top-right|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/win.1012/install.1012/install/mt.htm#sthref508] for details and then decide what have you installed that you are referring to as OAS 10g.

  • Problem after installing OracleAS portal on DHCP machine.

    Hi
I'm currently running Windows Server 2003 R2 on VmWare, and have installed OracleAS portal on a DHCP machine. However it has been causing me problems, and I realized I have overlooked the system requirements (Section 4.2) by not installing a loopback adaptor prior to the installation.
Now, my portal server goes down whenever the IP addresses changes and I'm at a loss on what to do. I have installed my portal on the following IP config details:
    IP address: 10.0.1.105
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.248.0
    Default Gateway: 10.0.0.1
However the recommendations (on the documentation Section 4.8.6.3) were for me to use the following IP config details:
IP address: 10.10.10.10 (or 192.168.x.x) [x is any value between 1 and 255]
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Thus even if I have followed the instructions on Section 4.8.6.3 (after I have installed the portal) - The server won't be running because the host is still on 10.0.1.105. What happened after my IP changed was error pages that ranges from:
    -     505 Server Down
    -     The connection timed-out
This my first time installing an Oracle Product, and I'm new to networks so I would really appreciate any help and advice on this problem I'm facing. I'm not sure what other details that I need to give for you to effectively help me solve this problem. Please help.
    Thanks!!

The 2gb partition i talked about it's the one given by using INTERNET RECOVERY, so, it seems that i do not have any recovery partition in my mac, so, problem resumes to restoring system by the last copy in time machine which is not showing in internet recovery, but it does shows in my user account.
    Thanks for help!

  • Trouble Installing Oracle Portal

    Hi all,
I am using the "launch.sh" file to install Oracle Portal after we deinstalled it yesterday.
The thing is the progress bar finished really fast and I got a message that says "The Oracle Portal schema user was not created."
I checked into the install.log file and see most of the error messages to be "Message file sp1<lang>.msb not found Error 6 ininitializing SQL*PLUS"
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is also a patch 1507768 for this problem. Hopefully you have access to Metalink where you can download this patch. Also on Metalink refer to doc. id. 131299.1 which details this problem and the workarounds.

Why is your "requirement" to install in graphical mode?  Once you are past the installation itself, the only thing that buys you is that your server will have been configured to boot up to runlevel 5, running a graphical desktop (gnome or kde, I forget which).  And what does THAT buy you on a server?
I do not run ANY of my Linux servers "in graphical mode" -- running a graphical desktop.  Nor did I run a graphical desktop when I had Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX servers.

I like to confirm my understanding. You installed 9iAS HTTP Server option which includes Oracle Portal and Oracle Wireless (portal-to-go). These are two separate features in 9iAS. After installation, did you include wireless parameters in your apache/jserv configuration files per 9iAS Wireless installation guide? For example you need to alias in httpd.conf, ApJservMount in jserv.conf and wrapper.classpath in jserv.properties.

  • Instal Oracle Portal for testing and learning purpose on 2 machines

I have two PCs. One is runing Windows XP, one Linux Fedora Core 4. I'd like to usem them for geting to know Oracle Portal. Linux as Aplication Server, Win as DB server.
I can't seem to find minimum HW requirements for Portal. Linux machine is 256MB RAM, Pentium II 350 MHz. As I said, it doesn't have to run fast. it just has to run for the beggining. Then I can decide whether to use it and think of the real configuration for business purposes.
    Please advise.

RAM requirement for Infrastructure is 1GB - this included an Oracle 10G database for identity management. RAM requirement for Middle Tier (Portal and Wireless) is an additional 1GB.
Requirements to run both on one host is (according to Oracle) 1.5GB.
I have it all on a single host here (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9) with only 1GB ram (It's an Athlon 1.4) so there is some flexibility here. You may get away with the CPU, but I think you need a lot more RAM.
Your athlon Windows Machine could do it all. I have a working 10G Application Server on a 2GHz Pentium M laptop (2 GB RAM). If you don't start it up automatically every time the OS starts then you will have plenty of resources.
Since 10G AS also includes 10G DB then only one machine is all you would need.
    Good luck

  • How to install Oracle VM Server 2.2.0 as 32-bit mode on a 64-bit machine.

    Gurus,
If I am not wrong, the Oracle VM Server 2.2.0 installer for 32-bit and 64-bit are the same file.
I have AMD 64 bit machine, when I install Oracle VM Server 2.2.0, it installs as 64-bit.
However due to requirement, I want to install Oracle VM Server in 32-bit mode.
    Will appreciate the steps.
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Krishna,
Please note that the zip file from the Oracle eDelivery/Linux site contains a single Oracle VM server ISO file; this file is used for both x86 and x86-64 hardware. The Oracle VM server install routine automatically detects the hardware platform and installs the appropriate 32-bit or 64-bit Xen hypervisor. Regardless of the hardware platform, 32-bit or 64-bit, dom0 is 32-bit. Will a 32bit dom0 meet your business requirements?
Could you please let us know the business requirements re 32bit?
For details about the installation, sizing and server resource requirements please review http://itnewscast.com/chapter-4-oracle-vm-server-sizing-installation-and-updates
    Respectfully,
    Roddy

  • Do i need oracle portal to install Oracle Drive ?

    Hi,
Sorry for this dumber question, I am now to this.
I am using an enterprise oracle database and I want to use the Oracle Drive feature.
Do I need to install Oracle Portal only for doing this ?
Thank you for your kind answer.

I think you do because this is a WebDAV tool and allows you to see the page groups and pages as folders/directories.
