Installing Oracle9i Database Release 2 Over Solaris 9

The documentations reference for installing Oracle 9i Release 2 makes reference to Solaris 8, so, the patches set needed apply for solaris 8 not for Solaris 9.
Does any body help me to find documentions for installing Oracle 9i Release 2 over solaris 9?
Does any body know about the prerequisites for installing Oracle 9i release 2 over solaris 9 (not solaris 8)?
Best regards,
Alfredo

Here is the link for solaris 8.

If you look at page 2, Installation and Configuration, the steps to configure you OS and "install" oracle are detailed. Since this a developer preview version the standard installation steps commonly associated with Oracle do not apply.

  • Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/

    Hi,
Ive just been trying to download your Oracle9i Database Release Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP for my home computer, but it wont even download properly. The Disk 1 file, "92010NT_Disk1.zip", intializes, and downloads in less than a second, saying all 67.7kb is complete, taking into consideration the file is over 600mb big. When i open the *.zip file, its absolutely empty. I tried the links for Disk 2 and Disk 3, and they are working perfectley.
    Whats going on?
Is there a bug on my side, or OTN's?
    Will this be fixed soon?
Or should i download an older version?
A little feed back would be grately appreciated, due to the fact i cant find the latest version of Oracle anywhere else on the World Wide Web.
    Thank you for your time.

PS: Your "Preview" Button didnt seem to work for me either.

    Hi Peter,
I downloaded the same zip files as you did for my home pc. The first zip file was not able to be unzipped by winzip. So I had to download the fisrt zip file again from OTN and the second time it was fine. I got all three zip files extracted and ran the setup.exe. Everything was fine till this point.
My problem is that Oracle 9i release 2 personal edition is not for XP home edition. I couldn't get the database correctly configured.

This download has been up for some time so it's most likely a problem with the file transfer - did you verify the filesize matches what is posted on the web page?
You may want to use a download manager for this file if you keep getting the error - there are many available. (www.getright.com works pretty well).

  • Installing Oracle9i Database on Windows 2003 Cluster

Can anyone tell me if there are any additional steps needed to install an Oracle DB on a Windows 2003 cluster besides just running the installation and taking the defaults? I was hoping that the software would be cluster aware but it doesn't appear that it is.

    Okay,
I have gotten a little further with this. I have my 2 node active/passive windows cluster installed and working. I also install Oracle Fail Safe and have it setup and working. I then install my Oracle9i database on node 1 using a local disk for the home directory and the DB/logs files etc on shared disk (SAN back end). I then mirrored the install on my 2nd node using the same home name and location on a local disk. What other steps do I need to take to verify that my new Oracle database will function correctly should a node fail and fail over occur. I am not familiar with any of this at all and am just trying to get to a point where I have my DB installed and working correctly within the cluster before I hand this of to another person. I guess what I am saying is I need to make sure my new DB is cluster aware and will fail over correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
