Installing OS X 10.5 on PS3?

I just formated my PS3 to be able to install another operating system, so I put my Mac OS X install CD in to install it on my PS3. But when I went to install it, it said that there was "No applicable installer found". So does anyone know how to properly install Mac OS X 10.5 on a PS3?

The otheros option on the PS3 is aimed at PPC based linux distributions. Just because leopard runs on PPC macs doesnt mean it will on a PS3. The hardware it completely different to any mac whether it has PPC processor or not.
If you want to get an OS installed on your PS3 then Yellowdog is a good option. I have it on mine but dont use it much these days. It runs mame quite nicely and vlc and no doubt a good few other apps. Also, mentioning linux here wont get one of the more right-on forum members telling you off for breaking the license agreement regarding which machines you are allowed to install your copy of leopard onto or quoting forum terms and conditions at you ;o)

  • PS3 + 24" LED - a solution, but are there better ones?

    Hi everyone,
As you might have seen here is the best solution yet to the PS3 + Apple 24" LED Cinema Display Problem -
    http://www.cinemaview.com/models.html
However, seeing as this is more an allrounder, are there any cheaper solutions that would be able to convert the PS3's HDMI signal for DisplayPort?
There is a solution of 4 adaptors (HDMI to HDMI, HDMI female to DP, DP Female to DP Female, DP to MiniDP Female - then to 24"), but would this work without conversion of the signal?
Are there any solutions that allow input of my PS3's 1080p's video signal into my mac and then out again through displayport? (Any EyeTV like products?)
(BTW - sound would be handled by 5 speakers (coaxial Z-5500 Digital) so that is not a worry)
I will be buying the display if any of this works.
If not I will have to toss up,
    Apple 24" LED + convenience with my Mac + Z-5500 - compatability
    vs.
    HP L2475W + PS3 + Z-5500 + compatibility - convenience
    Difficult!

I'll be a little more full in my response this time and see if your opinion changes.
The PS3, at the moment, is being run on a Sony Bravia 46" 1080p LCD which to be honest is pretty magnificent.
If I had the money and my dad would let me, I would be installing Z-5500s downstairs with the PS3, and upstairs in my room with the mac.
The apple monitor, in my opinion, is my dream monitor. It is the one I would like, it is the one my dad is getting for his new mac tomorrow (Yes I am jealous), and it is the one I would be buying hands down if it had a DVI, HDMI, Component, or even VGA input.
The hp monitor has the better versatility but from what I have read, the Apple is still the better display. You talk of speakers - no interest, but isight and mic are (adium messenger).
The thought of having the use of 5.1 speakers + 1920x1080p + 24" + PS3 in my room is highly appealing.
The thought of having the use of 5.1 speakers + 1920x1200 + 24" + APPLE LOGO + MacBook + Convenience and Tidyness is just as appealing.
What would I be missing with the 24" ACD -
    - The PS3 wouldn't have surround 5.1
What would I be missing with the 24" HP -
    - The Apple Logo
    - The convenience of tri-port power
    - Seamless integration between computer and monitor (just like a desktop)
I can't say I use the PS3 more than 2-4 times a month. I use my computer every single day for at least 3-4hrs, often more.
    Is the Apple for me?

  • Upgrade from PS3 to PS4 - do filters have to be reinstalled?

I have been working on PS3 and have a number of filter families that I have installed and that are in my PS3 filter pulldown menu.  If I upgrade to PS4 do those independent filters (e.g., Autofx, PowerRetouch) get automatically 'carried along' (WHOA! great computer lingo there!) or do I have to reinstall each family?   As a secondary question, if you'd like to tell me whether you find working with PS4 better/easier/worse than PS3, I'd sure like to hear it.
    Thanks!

    Been there, done that.
Yes you will have to "migrate" the filters to CS4.
I have read on these pages that if you have them in your User/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Photoshop/Plugins folder, that they should still work when you upgrade, but I have never installed filters there. I always put them in the Application folder.
    Here's what I found.
I use Alien Skin and Flaming Pear filters for a lot of the work I do. While Flaming Pear filters are drag and drop to install, then just enter the license code again the Alien Skin filters use an installer and the set I had for CS3 was incompatible with CS4. I had to get a whole new set of their EyeCandy, ImageDoctor and Xenofex filters.
It may be possible to avoid this by having them installed to the Application Support folder, so they are specific to your user account, but again, I've never done it that way.
As to your other question, I've used Photoshop since version 5 on an old G3 iMac with OS 9. EVERY new release has gotten better than the one before it. Of course my hardware has gotten better with time and that helps too, but the features improve every time, or I'm pretty sure I'd still be using CS or CS2.

  • JPS-01520 Error while running on Jdev 11.1.1.4

    Hello,
I recently installed JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 (PS3) to start looking around in it.
To get a better understanding of WebCenter and the new Portal set up off applications I followed an tutorial that I found on the homepage:
Tutorial for Oracle WebCenter Developers : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e10273/toc.htm
However, when I run either the default application (Generated by JDeveloper) or the sample application (that comes with the tutorial), I get the following error when I try to login:

<IdentityStoreUtil> <getIdentityStoreFactory> Cannot initialize identity store.

Diid anyone else experience this error and was able to fix it?
Or can anyone help me to fix this error?
I already tried cleaning my JDeveloper Home dir (I deleted the whole system11.1.1.4.37.59.23 dir).
If I try to login to the console with the weblogic user I can login and I can browse through the console.
    Any help would be appreciated!

  • Schema Error when Syncing on Premises AD to Azure

    Hi,
I have an odd issue with trying to Sync my local user passwords with Azure AD.  My schema version is 47 (which is supported) and we are running 2008R2 Domain Controllers.
Presently, I am not installing the Azure AD Connect tool on a Domain controller, I have tried both on domain joined Server 2012R2 and Server 2008R2 servers.
    Anyone come across this before?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response.
The AD web services is not needed when you install the azure connect tools.
Your target computer for installing AAD Sync can be stand-alone, a member server or a domain controller.
And it must have the following components need  installed:
    .Net 4.5
    PowerShell (preferably PS3 or better)
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2014/09/30/step-by-step-setting-up-the-new-aad-sync.aspx
Please install the tools in your windows server 2012r2 DC to check the result.
    Regards.

  • Downloading SOA extension

    Hi,
I recently installed JDev 11.1.1.4 (PS3) and want to generate some BPM processes.
via JDev Updates, I downloaded and installed then SOA Composite extension, restarted JDev and did the same for the BPM Studio extension.
I restarted JDev again but the SOA extension doesn't seem to have take effect, I can't find the composite.xml nor from the Technology Scope does SOA exist like it used to in JDev 11.1.1.3.
Has anybody come across this issue before? - Or provide any advice?
    Many Thanks,
    Kieran

The JDev Check for Updates pulls from the same location that you just provided Navaneeth. What's missing?
Please let me know what you see missing. I'll get it updated properly.

  • Trying to install PS4 on new MacBook Pro. I have already installed PS 3 extended.  When PS4 asked for my PS3  serial number will not accept # on back of my PS3 case?

I have PS3 and PS4 installed on Mac 27", but when I try to install PS4 on my new MacBook Pro will not accept Serial # on my PS3 Extended case.  Even though I have PS3 Extended installed!!  Tried Serial # with and without dash, but neither works.  Had both installed also on my MacBook Air OK but I wiped intend installed new OS.  Not clear why PS4 not accept PS3 Serial # despite the fact that PS3 Extended already installed with the correct Serial #.

Photoshop 3 and Photoshop 4 for the Mac were released in the 1990s before Mac OSX and will only run natively on the Classic Mac OS (OS 9.x or older). They may run under emulation in "Classic Mode" on a PPC Mac up until OSX 10.4. They will not run on any Mac with an Intel processor nor with OSX 10.5 or newer. Same with Photoshop 5 and Photoshop 6.
Photoshop 7 came with both Classic and OSX versions, but will only run on a PPC-based Mac, or an Intel Mac up to OSX 10.6.x with the Rosetta emulator
    Now, to clarify the naming of versions;
    Photoshop CS = "Photoshop 8.x"
    Photoshop CS2 = "Photoshop 9.x"
PS CS and CS2 came as OSX versions only and will only run on a PPC-based Mac, or an Intel Mac up to OSX 10.6.x with the Rosetta emulator
    Photoshop CS3 = "Photoshop 10.x"
    Photoshop CS4 = "Photoshop 11.x"
PS CS3 and CS3 came as OSX versions but run on either a PPC-based Mac up to OSX10.6.x with the Rosetta emulator or an Intel-based Mac, at least up to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.x (the latest I have tried personally)
As for upgrades, you can go back about (3) revisions to use the old SN for an install; e.g. a PS 7 SN can be upgraded to PS CS3 (10.x) but not to PS CS4 (11.x). So, there is no way PS 3 could be upgraded directly to PS CS4 (11.x)

  • Will installing PS4 and ACR 5 wreck my current PS3 and ACR 4?

If I installed PS4 (and of course ACR5) into a separate directory in my hard drive, will that stop my current copy of PS3 and ACR4 from working? I don't mind if new versions takes over the file extension associations, but will it totally corrupt my current versions making them unusable?

    If I can humbly add an extra comment to the DEFINITIVE EXPERT answers;
Installing the upgrade version of CS4 without removing CS3 also leaves CS3 functional. Now I just have to figure out if I can safely remove CS3 without messing up anything.
However this is the paid for (upgrade) version. With an install of a trial version a couple of numbers back, removal of the trial damaged Bridge and after a lot of troubleshooting, I had to completely reinstall the whole earlier suite (I have CS2 suite as well) to get back. Since that was an upgrade as well it ended up being a painful and long winded recovery.
The best solution is just to buy whatever version of CS4 you qualify for and forget about trials. There are a LOT of really useful improvements as well as a big leap with layers and masks and non-modal edits. Brilliant!

  • GTA V Can't Install On PS3 Super Slim.

Hey Mr SuperFastZombie could you please get your friend to contact me because I have exactly the same problem. lol
I have a 12GB PS3 super slim console and I just bought GTA 5 on PS3 and it says that I do not have enough memory and it forced to quit. It says I need another 6022MB memory space in order to play GTA 5. So I looked on the internet to find out about how you can upgrade your 12GB console to a 500GB hard drive so I can play GTA 5 but its REALLY COMPLICATED and you need so many components to install it. You need like 3 things which include a 500GB hard drive, a mounting bracket, and a 16GB usb flash drive. And they might be quite expensive and even if you buy it you might not be able to install it yourself and all that money paid for it would be a waste. So yeah its tricky stuff.

The best thing would be to upgrade the HDD a future update from Rockstar could block out 12GB users entirely.
This is some good advice. As you can see the process is pretty simple.
In the mean time if you want it to install the game update you will have to delete any videos and Game Data to clear all the space on your console.

Simply trash everything. You screwed yourself and made a mess, anyway. You need to install the program properly from scratch.

  • I was using a ps3 controller connected via usb as a gamepad when I had Snow Leopard installed - the other day I downloaded Mavericks and now it no longer works. Solutions?

I moved from 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to 10.9 (Mavericks). Apple support won't help because it's not their hardware. It's not a playstation controller, it's Spartan brand, and it never connected via bluetooth (it continues to not connect via bluetooth in Mavericks which is fine). I always just plugged it in and it ran because apparently Apple included drivers for it from Snow Leopard onward. However, in Mavericks that's not the case, as when I plug it in nothing picks it up, and when I tried to connect it via bluetooth I would enter the pairing code and then it wouldn't pair. Anyone got any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks for no help. Such a supportive community. I figured it out on my own. I can only connect it via usb cable (which I'm happy with) and in order to do that I had to go through the bluetooth connection steps for some reason. It doesn't show up as paired but I did the steps outlined in this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Efk77f6d98Y -, plugged the controller in via usb cable and then it worked.

  • Just installed OS X Yosemite and I cannot open PS3 without Java SE 6 runtime.  It doesn't seem to be available.  I have downloaded Java 8, but I still get the message that I must download Java SE 6.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

You need to use the Java version from the apple website
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572
Other versions of java from the java website won't work for adobe products that say they need Java SE 6
