Installing OVM X86 3.1.1 with Trunk VLAN tag for ovm management network

Hi Guys
Can anyone help with network config on the OVM server 3.1.1 basically we need to use vlan tags on trunk port... so i have a subnet from following *(Trunk Allowed VLAN XXX)* from which i need to allocate IP for the OVM server component so that the ovm manager can find the OVM server instance...
Can you use vlan tags, on trunk port with OVM server 3.1.1???

Your right there as i later found out the engineers weren't selecting the vlan option when installing the vm server...

What is the size of your hard disk? PSE 4 is a very old program and I suspect it is not able to access the entire hard disk on your machine. Just a thought here.

Jumpstarting changes with U6: VLAN tagged interfaces and sysidcfg

Hello,
I've been banging my head on U6 for a few days and finally have to give up and cry for help. I can no longer build a jumpstarted server which ends up on a separate VLAN tagged LAN after first reboot.
I have an existing U5 SPARC jumpstart environment setup. We use VLAN tagging a lot in our environments and by default the only time a non VLAN tagged interface is used is during jumpstart. With the existing jumpstart we are using the following profiles:

system_locale=CIn the U5 profile we let the jumpstart server obtain its network configuration via DHCP and then obtain the profile above, which excludes all network settings. All the network settings were added as part of a finish script. This worked fine with U5. As far as I can see, with U6 at the point where the sysidcfg is first evaluated it removes the network settings and obviously then kills the jumpstart. So I have had to try a different approach. I have tried both of the following:
network_interface=PRIMARY { default_route=none protocol_ipv6=no}
network_interface=PRIMARY { dhcp default_route=none protocol_ipv6=no}However, using either of these causes the ce0, bge0 or whatever to remain defined, instead of the ce200000 and ce206000 interfaces that I have explcitly defined in hostname.ce200000 separately. I also get a number of arp errors on initial reboot, such as

I think I might also need to stop /sbin/netstrategy return dhcp specific results (I only use DHCP for jumpstart booting and not for normal boot), but I have no idea how to do that...

I don't want to suggest that I understand your problem but have you seen the comments about tagged vlans on the Opensolaris LDoms forum?
Near the bottom of thread [Solaris 10 10/08 (update 6)|http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=81505&tstart=0] there is some discussion of tagged vlan support changes with U6.
It sounds like tagged vlans are going to be a problem with U6.

Need help with QoS config/setup for my home network.

I have a home network that spans two buildings, has and FTP download server, VoIP phones,and several computers among other IP devices. I run a home based business where my clients get access to the company FTP download server (NOT illegal file sharing). the problem is that when they are downloading files my VoIP takes a big hit and gets choppy when speaking to my customers. Below is the layout of the network.
Our Internet access is Verizon 4G, there are no other options available at this time or we would switch. The Verizon 4G MiFi connects to a TP-Link wifi router that then connects to port fa0/5 on the Office 3550PoE switch. There is a trunk between the Office switch to the House 3550PoE switch. The House switch then connects to the Shop 3524XL switch also using a trunk. Please note that EVERYTHING works fine other than the VoIP issue, VoIP makes and receives calls without connections issues.
Auto QoS has been run on the Office switch ports fa0/1 and fa0/2 as well as on the House switch ports fa0/3 and fa0/5. There is NO auto QoS on the 3524XL
What is the best way to give VoIP traffic top priority over FTP and web browsing when going out port fa0/5 on the Office Switch? Over the internal network we are not having any call quality issues between the IP phones, just calls to our SIP provider. Yes, I understand that once calls exit the Office switch to the TP-Link wifi router there will not be any QoS. But, if I can give priority to the packets at the layer 3 Office switch (or wherever you suggest) then at least I will not have to kill a users FTP download while I am on the phone.

WLC 2504 - Issue with using Microsoft NPS for Radius Management Login

In our environment we like to have our network admins and engineers use their Active Directory credentials when logging into devices so we can log who logged into which devices and if any changes were made. To do this we use a Server 2008 R2 NPS server with all our routers, switches and ASA's. We recently purchased a WLC to begin adding wireless to our environment. (See WLC_Radius_Config.png and NPS_Radius_Config.png)
On the WLC, I am able to authenticate in using my AD credentials but when I go to apply any config changes I get a message saying "Authorization Failed. No sufficient privileges." (See error.png) I have a feeling I am missing something small but this is very important to us.
I checked the Radius server and there are no login errors or NPS errors pointing to the WLC logins. Has anyone else run into this issue or know what I can do to solve it?

I wish I had finished my guide. Didn't realize it would take this long.
But what I meant is that when adding the attributes to my NPS (Microsoft's Network Policy Server) I only had to add the role and virtual domain if using Prime Infrastructure.
If you use NCS, you have to add the role, all the tasks, and the virtual domain.
See the screenshots and see if that helps explain it. Not sure how TACACS will work as I'm not familiar with it.

How do I create a table with header cell tags for screen readers in indesign cc 2014?

In order to create a table that's readable for screen readers, I need to give the cols and row values like headers. This way the screen reader should be able to understand what the value in it's corresponding cell is. But... how do do this?

However, when the transaction was executed, the error came back, "Enter the date of production". In looking at the screen in the lsmw batch results, it shows the date in the production date field.
I also tried to create the recording in the Transaction Recorder (trancode SHDB), and process the recording simulating the background mode and got the same results.
Any ideas why it seems to be ignoring the production date? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Help with Proper DNS Setup for Leopard Standard Server Setup

Problem Description-
I was reviewing some training today on DNS setup and checking for proper setup with the sudo changeip - checkhostname tool and I seem to have an incorrectly configured DNS setup. So I need some help on correcting it. When I go to the "Server Preferences" tool I cannot log in using apple.ourdomainname.com instead in order to use the tool I have to input localhost as the server name. Now I just thought that the system was broken or something and with the help of my training I now see it's a DNS problem. I thought I had everything proper since I followed the steps of creating proper DNS/RDNS entries with my ISP. Now I am stuck wondering what else isn't working properly due to the DNS issue. Thanks in advance.
Technical Info-
My ISP provides us with 5 static IP's and we have asked them to create entries and verified the setup of apple.ourdomainname.com = x.x.x.x which is one of our public IP's assigned currently assigned to the WAN port of our Apple Airport Extreme. We have also had them create a PTR record which also is present, verified and functional. Our MacMini running 10.5.5 is connected directly to one of the ethernet ports on our Apple Airport Extreme which is our NAT/Firewall for the LAN. So during the setup of the Standard Server install the OS configured the Airport with the required ports for chat/web/vpn. And mobile Mac's can VPN in and gain folder access and web works fine too. We don't use the e-mail portion so I can't say how that works. The server is using the DNS of 10.0.200.1 which is the IP of the Airport and the airport is programmed with the DNS of OpenDNS servers 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. The reason for this whole long shpeal is that I want to give as much technical background as possible for the best possible help.

Vlan tag issue with Nexus 4001 in IBM Blade Centre

I have a DC architecture with a pair of Nexus 7010's running 3 VDC's (Core/Aggregation/Enterprise). I have at the edge Nexus 5548's which connect to back to the Aggregation VDC. Also connecting back to the Aggregation VDC is an IBM Blade Chassis which has a Nexus 4001i in slots 7 and slot 9. These blade servers are running ESXi 4.0 and are mapped to the Nexus 4001 blade switch.
I had set up the Native VLAN as VLAN 999 which connects up to the ESXi host and I am trunking up multiple VLANS for the Virtual Machines.
The problem I have is that VM's in all VLANS except the ESXi host VLAN (VLAN 10) cannot see their default gateway, and I suspect that there is an issue with the VLAN tag going up to the ESXi host. I have read enough documentation to suggest that this is where the issue is.
My Nexus 4001 interface configuration is below

switchport trunk allowed vlan 10,30,40-41,60-62,90,96,999

The Aggregation VDC on the Nexus 7010 is the default gateway for all these VLANS.
I also noted that the Nexus 5000 and Nexus 7000 supports the command vlan dot1q tag native command yet the Nexus 4000 doesn't seem to support this. Any assistance would be useful

Your configuration on the N4K looks correct. You shouldn't use vlan dot1q tag native commands on your N7Ks and N5Ks. Native VLAN tagging is really for QinQ (dot1q tunneling).
My only suggestion is check your configuration of the vSwitch in the ESXi host and the host network profile.

Pse 7 cannot find all photos with a specific tag

I keep my photos in a series of 'nested' subfolders by year and by topic and I have found that PSE7 will only find the first photo with a specific tag, for instance searching for one of our dogs by tag name will find the first time we saved a photo of her. It will not find her in the subsequent 7 years of folders/photos. It is v irritating and I thought that I could do this search previously. Help please. Thanks.

No. You would only need the PC to run the AirPort Utility if you ever need to make any configuration changes to the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS). You can even do that from a remote location. A computer is not required in order for other wireless clients to connect to the AEBS for network/Internet acess.

SG300-20 behind firewall with two vlans

i have the following network running: see attachment. The switch has two VLANs, one for the 10. network, the other should be for the 192. network. Now i want to access 10.0.1.11 from 192.168.178.1 but i get blocked by the firewall. The switch is now in the 192.network, but i want to connect the 10.* ports directly to the router. I am grateful for every hint.

I would recommend adding a 2nd vlan interface to your firewall, and enable inter vlan routing on the firewall.
It would be good to set a different network segment between the router and firewall,
It would look something like this.
router --> firewall vlan1 -->switch vlan1 -->192.168.178.x clients
firewall vlan10 -->switch vlan 10 --> 10.0.1.x clients
You don't say what the router or firewall models are, or the subnet masks...
The default gateways for the clients would point to the firewall, and it would do intervlan routing.
Or:
You can do intervlan routing on the switch.
set the switch in layer3 mode (this will factory reset the switch). Set up the 2 client vlans, including dhcp with default gateways for the clients pointing to the switch.
select a different network segment for the firewall to switch connection (say 192.168.180.x)
add a route, rules, and nat statements in the firewall for both networks 192.168.178 and 10.0.1.x.
add a default route in the switch pointing to the firewall.
that would look something like
router - firewall -(192.168.180.x) - switch - vlan 10.0.1.x
\- vlan 192.168.178
This would put the inter vlan routing load on the switch instead of the firewall.
