Installing photo

I installed 1 of 3 of the photoshop disk with no problems, now the 2nd disk says I have an invalid serial number? Help!

Disc two is the Premiere Elements trial.  If you only have purchased Photoshop Elements 10 then you will only be able to install Premiere Elements 10 in trial mode.  You can find more information regarding the install process and the contents of the discs at Install Premiere Elements, Photoshop Elements - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/install-premiere-elements-photoshop-elements. html.

    Hi Lauren,
You can download it from : http://www.adobe.com/downloads and then install.
If you are using an older version you can try downloading it from :

I would first go to your Adobe Account and make sure that all info in it was correct and then match up all S/N's with your records. If you find any problems, then make corrections.
If all matches, but does not work, contact Adobe and see if they still sell replacement DVD's for CS2. Adobe usually does, for a small price. Still, you will need your correct S/N, so you will probably be back on the phone to Adobe. When I once used them for a S/N problem, they were quick and did a perfect job.
    Good luck,

  • Should I trash iPhoto after installing Photo?

Should I trash iPhoto after installing Photo?

Should I trash iPhoto after installing Photo?
Why would you want to do that? You paid for it, and Photos cannot do everything that iPhoto can, for example add location data to photos or batch changing the titles. Don't trash iPhoto, before you have explored your migrated photos library thoroughly and are sure, that all photos migrated correctly, and before you have tested all features of the new Photos and are sure, that there are no hidden bugs on your system, that would require reverting to iPhoto until the bugs are fixed.  And even if you, be sure, to keep a backup of iPhoto and your iPhoto library - best make a bootable clone of your system. Better be safe than sorry.

  • How to install Photos app if you don't have iPhoto?

My iPad 2 was upgraded yesterday to iOS 8 and among the things I was waiting for was the new Photos app.  Apparently it was not installed on my ipad and searching the Internet for ideas on how to locate and install it have come up empty.  Even the iTunes store has nothing.
In another thread it was mentioned that if you had iPhoto installed and tried to launch it, it would offer to upgrade to Photos.  Since I didn't ever install iPhoto, I can't use that option.
Apple has a beautiful page here that illustrates all of Photos' selling point but nowhere is the a link to download it.
I'm at a loss in my search.  Does anyone have a suggestion that would help in either installing Photos or iPhoto?  Or am I up the creek?
    Thanks!
    -Tod

@ Old toad:  thanks for responding.  There are a couple of problems:
    1.  Your link to and image at https://discussions.apple.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadimage/2-26638589-47484 4/OTsig.png is not working.
    2.  There are several threads in iPhoto for iOS that appear to indicate that Photos for iOS is indeed live.
I think I read somewhere in the last few weeks that Photos indeed won't be available until next year, but with all the hype and reviews surrounding the release of iOS 8, it certainly appeared that Photos for iOS 8 was indeed.somehow available.
However, in reading the comments in other threads, I'm not so sure that it would be worth pursuing at this point.
    Thanks again,
    -Tod

  • Unable to install Photo Library Upgrader

    I am using a 13in 2013 mac air 1.3 GHz Core i5  running version 10.9.2
I tried using iphoto today -- rarely use it, and it said I needed to install photo library upgrader -- would not open.  I downloaded the upgrader but when I attempt to install it says no can do, that I need to be running iphoto 9.0 or later.  The info says I am using version 9.5.1
This is the first time I have ever had a problem using apples nearly brainless software.
    suggestions?

Sounds like you've updated an updater to the iPhoto application. The Library updater is a different thing. Try here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1523?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    Download it.
    Install it.
Then go to Applications/Utilities and double click on it to run it.

If you do a Get Info on the selected Photoshop icon in the Finder, you

  • How can I install Photo Expressions software?

How can I install Photo Expressions software?  I tried to drag and drop all items on to the Applications folder as I've done with other software, but this did not seem to work.

Those are definitely windows files. Is it possible that the CD/DVD has a different folder for a Mac version of the program? If I have found the correct web site (Individual Software) there is no mention of a Mac version.

  • Can I install Photo Elements 8 onto another computer

    Hi
I installed Photo Elements 8 onto my old compter, and unfortunately that has packed up on me.  Can I install the same Photo Elements 8 onto my new computer???
I hope so, or Ive wasted a lot of money
    Thanks

If that was the only computer you installed it on, yes, no problem. You can install PSE on two computers. But if you'd already installed it on another computer besides the dead one without deactivating it from either of them, you'll need to contact Adobe to straighten out the activations.

  • Photos doesn't recognize my Pentax K3 automatically like iPhoto so I have no way to imprt my images. Just happened since installing Photos. Any ideas

Using Photo 1.0 which was just installed yesterday.  Never had a problem with iPhoto for the last 9 years.  Once I hook up the camera via USB, turn the camera on the icon for the SD card would appear and iPhoto would open and then give me the option of either importing all photos or selecting which ones.
Now the media card icon doesn't appear and if I try to use the menu bar to "import" it says it can't find the DCF.  Therefore it isn't recognizing that I have a device hooked up.

Will image Capture (in your applications folder) import them? Can you see the camera in the finder? Have you tried a card reader?
Basically you need to get the photos off the memory card and once they are safely on your Mac and at lease one backup cycle has successfully completed use the camera's format command to ease and reformat the memory card

  • Photos deleted a ton of photos (several events/categories/albums in iPhoto). I have backups on Time Machine but I can't go back further than the date I installed Photos, even though backups are there. Anyone have any ideas?

I have been looking forward to an improvement to iPhoto but have found Photos to be worse than useless, unfortunately. It uses all my resources, crashes and freezes constantly. Not only that, the events/albums/categories I have spent countless hours sorting have been completely eliminated. Without this, the app is of no use to me. So, fine, I'll revert to iPhoto, but a ton of my photos are now missing. It shouldn't be a big deal, because I use Time Machine regularly, but Time Machine won't let me restore any time past the date I installed the OS update (the backups are there). Any suggestions?

Your Time Machine backup lets you go back to directly the moment after you upgraded to MacOS X 10.10.3?  There must have been some interval between the upgrade and the first launch of Photos.
Try, if you can see the original iPhoto Library in the first backup.  Directly after the migration it will have a filename extension ".migratedphotolibrary", but this library should still work with iPhoto, nothing changed but the extension.

    1)
Do not click 'run' after unzipping. Find the contents that are unzipped. Right-click on the setup.exe and choose to 'run as administrator'.
    2)
When asked for a destination directory, use this:
    C:\progra~2\deluxe\

  • How to Install Photo Booth on 10.5.8

Hai , i need some help here , im totally noob here LOL
I accidentally deleted my photo booth , so can somebody tell me how to reinstall +only The Photobooth+ ??
    Thanks in advance

You will have to install it from the installer DVD as follows:
How to Use Pacifist to Replace Deleted or Missing OS X Components
Insert the OS X Installer DVD into the optical drive. Use a simple utility like TinkerTool to toggle invisibility so you can see invisible items. Alternatively, open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and at the prompt enter the following:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles Yes
    Press RETURN.
To turn off the display of invisible files repeat the above command substituting No for Yes.
The install packages are located in the /System/Installation/ folder on the DVD.
Download the shareware utility Pacifist from VersionTracker or MacUpdate. Use it to extract a fresh copy of the missing item(s) from the file archives on your OS X installation DVD. The file archives are in the /System/Installations/ folder (use Go to Folder option in the Go menu of the Finder.)
Here are Four Basic ways to use Pacifist (courtesy of George Orville.)
    A. Drag a .pkg icon onto the Pacifist window .....proceed to step 7.
    B. Click on “Open Package ....” and navigate to package desired and click “Open” in the open/save window.....proceed to step 7.
    C. Insert Mac OS X installer CD and when it mounts, navigate to .... Menu->Go->Go to Folder.

    • Click on the "Go" button .....
    • Drag a .pkg to Pacifist..... proceed to step 7.
The package you'll need will have to be discovered by trial and error, but for most applications you should start with the Essentials.pkg and/or Additional Essentials.pkg.
    D. Insert your Mac OS X install disk 1 .... and open Pacifist.
    1. In Pacifist, select "Open Mac OS X Install Packages" ... dialog may appear asking for disk 2, then disk 3 and finally disk 1 again.... {if DVD is not used)...If “Stop Loading” is selected...the procedure will stop!!!
2a. When loading is complete, a new window appears, click the triangle to display contents of each package...Select item and proceed to step 7.
2b. or click the “Find” icon in the Pacifist window and type the name of the software you need.
    3. In the list that comes back, click the top most entry for the item that you want. ..... that is the one for the English language.
    4. On the top of the Pacifist window, click “verify” .... you will probably be prompted for your password.
    5. Enter checks for.... “verify permissions” and “verify file contents.” and click “verify” ....enter password when prompted.... you will get back output which may look like this:
    20 files were scanned.
20 of 20 files were present on the hard disk.
0 of 20 files had file permissions that did not match those specified in the package.
0 of 20 files had checksums that did not match those specified in the package.
    6. Click “close”. Go to step 7.
    Extract or Install........
    7. In the Toolbar (upper left), you now have the option to extract or install. Click a file in the lower list and those two icons will be enabled.
    8. If “Extract to...” is selected.... navigate to the location where the file will be placed, select “choose”, select “extract” in new dialog that appears, authenicate , if prompted, click “OK”.
    9. In the next dialog, click “Extract”.
    10. If “Install” is selected... dialog will appear with the location/path of the installed software. Click “Install”
    11. Type in your password, click “OK”
    • Pacifist will begin to extract files.
    12. In steps 8/10ß.... you also have the choice to “cancel”
    Notes.....
    • Pacifist may find that a file it is installing already exists on the hard disk. Pacifist will present you with an alert panel....
    Stop
    Leave original alone
    Update ..... Default selection
Replace .... Replace option should only be used on full install packages
