Installing photoshop 5.0 then 7.0 respectively

I am trying to install 5.0 then 7.0. When I put the disc in and load the program I get to the screen with the install button. I try and click it and it does nothing. I have turned all firewalls off and any protections I have. What can I do????

What can I do????
Buy CS5.5? These may simply be unavoidable compatibility problems. I mean, you are trying to install software from the stone age onto a modern computer and nobody can give you any guarantees. If you provide more details we may be able to advice, but chances are really slim. Some users have reported that they were able to install PS 7.0, otehrs had no success and I haven't read anywhere that anyone was able to install PS 5.0 on Win 7 or any of that...

  • Installing Photoshop CS6 and then changing computers

Can I install CS6 on one computer and then later on (if I want to change computers) re-install it on another computer? If so, how do I port the license over to the new computer? Also, if I understand correctly, I can only have it installed on one computer at a time?
    Thanks.

"2.1.3 Portable or Home Computer Use. Subject to the important restrictions set forth in Section 2.1.4 [having to do with volume licensees], the primary user of the Computer on which the Software is installed … may install a second copy of the Software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable Computer or a Computer located at his or her home, provided that the Software on the portable or home Computer is not used at the same time as the Software on the primary Computer."
If you already have two activated copies of Ps and wish to transfer to another computer, first deactivate Ps on an old computer then activate it on the new computer.

  • Upgrading to Leopard; Installing Photoshop 5.5 and Upgrading to CS2

    Hello,
I currently have Panther running on my MAC and I want to upgrade it to Leopard. I originally had Adobe Photoshop 5.5 and had upgraded to Photoshop CS, then to Photoshop CS2 on my MAC running Panther. If I upgrade my MAC to Leopard, do I go through the same process? ...install Photoshop 5.5 then install my Photoshop CS2 Upgrade?
I know that I will need to deactivate/transfer activation before uninstalling Photoshop CS2 and activate after the Leopard Upgrade.
Any assistance/tips would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    >Although we have reports of CS4 working on some G4 systems, it runs slowly
Not on my computer, Neil. CS4 runs faster than CS3. Of course, I'm running Tiger, and I take other precautions, outlined below.
Dual bootable, DP MDD 1.25GHz G4 (2004), maxed out at 2GB of RAM, both
    Spotlight and Dashboard disabled
, Photoshop primary scratch disk on dedicated 160GB internal drive, at least 100GB available on each of the four internal drives, up to 300GB on some. Counting external FW drives just over 1TB of drive space available. nVidia GeForce 7800 GS 425MHz 256 MB graphics display card. Processor napping enabled through CHUD 3.5.2.

I downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements.  I then launched Photoshop Elements Organizer and imported approx. 28,000 photos (including some videos).  A window opened indicating that many of the photos had tags, and asking if I wanted to add the tags.  I said yes, and the process began.  When it reached 60% a window opened indicating that "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working", with the only option being to "Close program."
I've since tried to open organizer several times, but it goes immediately to "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working".  I was able to open Editor, and tried opening Organizer from Editor, but encountered the same problem.
FYI, I have an open case (#0214505556), but have not received the help I need.

This issue is with respect to Elements 13.

Mac OSX 10.6.8 running Photoshop CS5. My hard drive went belly up. Installed a new one and then tried to install Photoshop from my backup. I get an error message 6 telling me to uninstall Photoshop and then reinstall from the original software. But I bought from Adobe online. How do I go about this?

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

  • Installing Photoshop CS, then CS2 upgrade on Windows 7

I have a new computer with Windows 7 pre-installed and activated.  What is the correct proceedure to install Photoshop CS (full version), then the CS2 upgrade?  I would like to then upgrade to CS4 to take advantage of the Windows 64-bit capabilities.  Is this the right pathway, or do I need to purchase a new full version of CS4?
    Thank you for your help.

I think it is possible to upgrade from CS2 to CS4, yes. However there is no need to install CS or even CS2 before CS4 i don't think. You can just install them as long as you can proove you have the old one through the old serial number or somthing to that effect. Also, be awear that CS and CS2 are not supported by Adobe on Windows 7 as they have not been tested and may have problems running correctly. CS3 and CS4 are supported though. I personally wouldn't worry much about having issues with CS and CS2 though as as far as i know, no one seems to have many problems, and i also know that Photoshop 7 works just fine on Windows 7 too.

  • Permission problem installing Photoshop 7.0

I had Photoshop 7.0 installed on an XP that crashed and had to re-built (new hard disk? I don't remember). Anyway I lost all the apps I had, and I'm trying to get PS 7.0 re-installed. I have the original CD complete with the serial number right on the box. But this was an upgrade from PS 6.0, for which I no longer have the CD (if indeed I ever did - for all I can remember it may have been a download). I did remember to keep the serial number from PS6.0. Unfortunately, the install process, when it doesn't find a copy of PS 6.0 on this (wiped clean) hard drive, does not provide me the opportunity to key my PS 6.0 serial number. All I can do in the dialog I'm presented with is press OK and exit.
I have been on the phone with Adobe Customer Support, and after extended waits during which the tech evidently consulted his superiors, I was given the address of this forum and told to enter the word 'Unable to install Photoshop 7.0'. That led me to a thread relating to the problem, but not to mine.
This is of course, an issue of permissions so there may be no solution. But I'm hoping someone out there will be able to help.
    Thanks,
    Peyton Todd
P.S. My main PC is Win 7, for which I'd have buy a brand new Photoshop - totally too expensive financially given my limited use of the product (albeit extremely useful when I need it).

This is of course, an issue of permissions so there may be no solution.
Absolutely not. Don't jump to false premature conclusions. As Noel said, it solely depends on detecting a previous install/ verifying the install media. Since the latter is out of the question, the first would be way to go, the point being that it merely looks for the respective registry keys in HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Adobe. Lucky for you, back then nobody cared to encrypt such stuff so it could be hacked in manually. Off hand I'm just not aware of the specific structure for the keys, though, but a little digging might turn up that info. In fact it would be almost identical to the ones for PS 7, which might already linger there just lacking the proper vlaues...

  • How to Install Photoshop CC on a Drive Other than C:

I have purchase and installed Photoshop CC on one of my computers. I'm now ready to install it on the second one. But this Win 7 PC is running short of space on its C: drive. I want to install the files onto its D: drive. But the installer does not allow me the choice to do that.
Is there a way to do it?
    Thank you.

Don you can find additional details at http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
In addition once you access the preferences you will want to click on the App tab.  You will then want to click Choose to adjust the install location.

  • I need to install photoshop cs4 extended from a disk to a new computer because my old computer had a hard drive crash. There is no serial number on the back of the case.  How can I obtain a usable serial number?

I have to install Photoshop CS4 extended on a new computer from a disk because my old computer had a hard drive crash.  There is no serial number on the back of the case.  How can I obtain a usable serial number?

    Find your serial number quickly
You can activate software without following up and registering it... at least that was the case in the past.  The serial number is normally located on the disc case or a box inside the main box.  If you did not purchase the disc from Adobe then it is possible you would have dealt with a redemption code, in which case it would have been up to you to keep a record of the serial number, especially if you did not follow up and register the software.

  • How do I install photoshop on the E: disk? (Or any other location on my laptop?)

I installed Photoshop, and it automatically installed on the C: disk (Windows 7). The C: disk has only 11 Gb left, and I think that's the reason that I get warnings about a full scratch disk.
So I rather install Photoshop on E:. So I reinstalled everything, but I could not change the install location. So again, it's on C:....

In the CC desktop app click the little Gear icon in the upper right hand corner and select Preferences. Click the Creative Cloud entry at the top and then the second entry down is Install Location. But that will change the install location for all future UpGrades (Not UpDates) to all Adobe CC programs.
This setting can be changed at any time. So before you install a NEW (UpGrade) CC app you can change it to any drive and folder you choose.

  • How to install Photoshop 5.0LE on Windows7 64bit?

Greetings, and new here.  Did a search but didn't come up with anything helpful, just a lot of very technical stuff.  I am very simply trying to use an old version of Photoshop 5.0LE that I got with a camera I bought on a new PC with Windows7 Pro 64bit.  I use Photoshop sparingly, but do on occasion and do not wish to purchase anything more elegant as I have no need and not much money.  I appreciate any help you might give.  I have heard there is a process but haven't been able to get it to even open the .exe file to try to install it.  I get a message something like "This version of Photoshop does not work with Windows7," (kinda makes me wonder why I even upgraded the OS since the XP Pro I had on my old machine worked very well with all my programs. Please help. Thanks. Highdesertdweller

UAC is Windows User Account Control, which is a big reason why older software might end up being incompatible with the latest OS.
Basically, in the "bad old" days, every application acted like it owned your entire computer, and modified anything and everything it saw fit.  Nowadays, by contrast, applications are supposed to install in certain places, then only make modifications and store data in user-specific places.
UAC is the Windows feature that asks you, during installs, whether you really want to allow an installer to make changes to the system, and it causes the redirection of some things that used to be at the system level to be stored in other, user-specific places.  It also causes your applications to be run without privileges, even though you may have added yourself as an Administrator.
UAC's folder redirection seems akin to "magic" and I've always felt it was a real hack job.
But in general UAC does protect people who don't really understand how everything works in Windows from a lot of malware, and - though Microsoft provides the ability to adjust the settings to facilitate greater compatibility with ancient apps - advising people to disable it has to be given with a disclaimer:
You should search for Windows User Account Control or just Windows UAC in Windows Help and online to learn what it does for you before choosing to disable it.
If you DO end up wanting to try disabling it to see if Adobe's old version will install, just click Start, type UAC in the search box, and click on Change User Account Control Settings when it comes up.  You'll need to reboot after the change.
Edit:  This seems out of order because it is; I had neglected to hit the Submit button.
