Installing Photoshop CS6 and then changing computers

Can I install CS6 on one computer and then later on (if I want to change computers) re-install it on another computer? If so, how do I port the license over to the new computer? Also, if I understand correctly, I can only have it installed on one computer at a time?

If you already have two activated copies of Ps and wish to transfer to another computer, first deactivate Ps on an old computer then activate it on the new computer.

This may be of help to you:
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

Make sure you are typing the correct serial key on the insallation screen of PS CS6. Also, check if you have redeemed the serial key correctly.

I installed Photoshop CS6 and when logged onto my Adobe ID to register it, information "this serial key is already registered" appears.

I installed the ESD version of Photoshop CS6, instalation was successful. After that, I logged into my Adobe ID to register the software. When I pressed option "add new product" and typed the serial key, information appeared: "This serial key is already registered. You can only register product once". But the problem is, if it says that software is already registered then why section "Your products" is empty and says "No products registered"?
Can somebody please help me with this issue?

I bought it from the reseller, not directly from Adobe. I never installed it before, as a matter of fac,t I bought it a week ago . Surprisingly, during instalation there were no issues and serial key was approved. During the instalation I was asked to log into my adobe ID, I only had to give email address and password. But when I noticed that there is this issue with registration, I started to worry. Is it possible that the serial number I have is not genuine and legal? Is there any way that I could check if my serial key is legal and to which account it is registered? The seller does not reply, although previously his replies were pretty frequent.

My IT department installed photoshop CS6 - and it crashes so much it is unusable

Hi all-
I have a decent laptop for work, Dell with good specs, running windows 7.
Using photoshop CS6, the program crashes even with the most basic commands. Some hotkeys, or a soft brush will just shut it down.
It is really frustrating, as it is pretty much unusable with this issue.
I have illustrator CS6 - which is working fine.
Any ideas on what to do here? My IT team cant really help much :/

I updated photoshop myself, as well as the drivers per your reccomendation. I dont know of any plug-ins that I am using. And I am still getting a significant amount of program crashes.
about 90% of the time I can make it happen, but 10% of the time I cna use the program, lightly, and get somehting done.
Below is one warning I see occasionally when I open the program. I tried addressing it, but don't think I solved this completly...

Also, I noticed that for some reason, if I try to use help in photoshop, it dosent seem to think I am connected to the internet... Not sure if that is related at all..

Tried to install photoshop cs6 and when i downloaded it, it just gave me a blank screen and no option to finish the install

I downloaded Photoshop CS6 from the internet today onto my MacBook Pro and it is now on my desktop but when I double click on the icon, it only gives me a blank page and no options to complete the installation or to put in my serial number. Please help!

Installing Photoshop CS6 Extended

I recently purchased Photoshop CS6 Extended from Best Buy, but I can't seem to install it to my MacBook Pro. I've never had any kind of Photoshop trial on this computer so that's not part of the issue. When I put the disc in the computer it makes the sounds like it's reading it, but then it does nothing. No messages pop up at all, it's like there's no disc in my computer. This is the first disc I've ever had in the computer and the computer is pretty new, so I don't think my cd-thingy is broken.
In short..
I put the disc in, nothing happens.
Need to use photoshop tonight for an assignment so help ASAP would be appreciated!

If nothing happens could be multiple reasons. Did we try to use the same disk on a differnt computer. ? just to check if its woking there!
However you can also download the trial version of photoshop cs6 and then enter the serial number which you got at the time of purchase , if its urgent to use the application.

Installing Photoshop CS6 error?

I got these error messages while installing photoshop CS6, and illustrator cs6 on my laptop.
ERROR: DW050: - Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64): Install failed
ERROR: DW050: - Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86): Install failed
After I read about this error message, I was able to download (86) version from Microsoft's web, since it was installing it as a new, but failed to install (64) since it was trying to
repair it, and failed.
I have Windows 7 on my laptop.
I was able to open programs, and I am not sure what the consequences are of these errors.

"Exit Code 6 and Exit Code 7 indicate that the installation finished with errors. However, the exit codes themselves do not indicate the type of error that occurred. "

Installing Photoshop CC and Lightroom from Photoshop Phototgraphy Program

I already own and have installed Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5.3 on my computer. Do I need to uninstall these before installing the creative cloud versions or can I just leave them there?

I have the same problem, I could install Photoshop CC, Bridge CC but I couldn't install Lightroom. The Creative Cloud Window tells me that Lightroom is installed on my machine. I don't want to uninstall Lightroom before I start the installation of Lightroom from the Creative Cloud.
How is the way to do this. I have found no option to do this.

Can i purchase and install photoshop cs6 upgrade on a windows 8 pc.

i have photoshop cs5 upgrade installed on a windows 7 pc. can i purchase photoshop cs6 upgrade from adobe and install it on a windows 8.1 windows pc.this is important because i do not want to purchase a new pc and then find i cannot purchase and install photoshop cs6 onto it.

Inasmuch as you are allowed to purchase a perpetual license for Photoshop CS6, there's no technical reason you can't install it on Windows 8. When an upgrade installation asks about the prior product, you need only give it the serial number of your Photoshop CS5 license.

There are two steps when entering a serial number:
When you enter it in the 24-digit field, you should see a green checkmark. If you see a red x, you may have mis-typed the number, as Ben pointed out, it could be for a suite instead of a standalone product.
If it takes the number and installs, then activation is the next step. If it fails to activate, you may have exceeded your activations or the number might have been retired.
In that case, contact Customer Care with proof of purchase.

I've downloaded and installed photoshop cs6, but I can't find it on my mac air.

I downloaded and installed creative cloud, and I then downloaded Adobe Application Manager, and from that I downloaded and installed Photoshop cs6. When I clicked on 'launch app' nothing happened. According to the application manager I've installed photoshop, yet I can't find it anywhere on my mac air, all there is are a bunch of folders, but the actual program of photshop is nowhere to be found.

Ficam56 if you go to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers do you see a listing for Photoshop there? If so please run the uninstaller and then reinstall.
