Installing Photoshop on a new start up disk.

I recently purchased a new SSD drive that I want to use as my new start up disk and install Photoshop CS6.
Do I just deactivate Photoshop and uninstall it from my old drive and reinstall it on my new SSD or is there something else I need to do?

deactivate (help>deactivate), then uninstall.  then reinstall on your new c drive.

  • Is there an instruction sheet detailing how to install Photoshop Elements 13 (from a DVD disk), on a Windows 8.1 computer, and if so, where do I find it

Is there an instruction sheet detailing how to install Photoshop Elements 13 (from a DVD disk), on a Windows 8.1 computer, and if so, where do I find it?

Googled for an instruction sheet.  Got the following.
    https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/getting-started/install-pse.html
    and
    https;//helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-installation-errors.html
(Don't know why the second one didn't turn into a link, that's the url that printed out at the bottom of the page)
In any case it doesn't matter.  I returned it to the store where I bought it.
Rule #1; Don't use a product if the people who produce that product (software, hardware, etc.) don't properly support it.
User forums and\or chat lines, are useful and may help.  But!  They do not constitute proper support (not for installation purposes anyway).

  • Installing photoshop on other systems without a disk

My problem is a pretty simple one, but one I cant solve T_T.
Basicly, I was lucky enough to get a copy of photoshop elements in a package with with sony viao laptop (This was about 5 or so years ago). I now have a new laptop that I would like to install elements on, but the problem is, I dont have a disk.
I dont want to pay for a whole new photoshop package when I already own a copy. From reading the terms and conditions Im allowed to install photoshop on two different systems, so Im leagally entiled to install elements on my new laptop. I just dont know where to get the software.
Is there a way I can copy the files across from my old laptop? Is there a place I can download the elements software again and enter my product key?

Did you register the original laptop on Sony's site?
I would look into their support site, and log in with your laptop's info/serial number/etc.
Sometimes the support areas have download areas to redownload software that originally came with the system.
Or, you mentioned that you have the license key for the version you have.
I'd open a support ticket on Adobe.com or contact their support and see if you can get a link to redownload the trial for your version if there still is one.

  • How to install Photoshop on a new computer

    Jeff,
That option is not working for me because I have a subscription to Adobe Photoshop rather than a product.
When I view my orders, it says I have no orders, I can only see my purchases through the "my subscription and services" link.
I do not see a place to download the program.
    Please help!

  • Re installed photoshop CS5 onto new computer & now plug ins won't work?

I recently bought a new computer & re-installed photoshop CS5.1 successfully, but can't get the plug ins to work (phototools 2.5 & perfect effects 3, which were a free download with purchase). I am running windows 7 64bit. I copied & pasted them into the plug ins folder (in both applications of photoshop - there is the 32 bit version on 'program files (x86)' & the 64 bit version in 'program files'), but neither will work.

You probably won't get those plugins to work by just copying them.
I'd remove the plugins that you copied and pasted and use the phototools 2.5 & perfect effects 3 plugin installers, as they probably install some other files besides just the plugin itself.

  • Installing Photoshop CS5 on new Win8.1 - serial number not accepted. Help please!

    Hello everybody,
I just wanted to install Photoshop CS5 on my Windows 8.1 64bit machine, which also happenes to be a new machine. The serial number provided in my Adobe account is not accepted by the installer! The information I could gather from the "support" area points me to a problem which is caused by not properly uninstalling the previous install, am I right? I did not know this. Also, I am no native speaker and feel a little lost on this.
Please help, I need to use my copy of PS CS5, thanks!

  • How to re-install Photoshop CS on new iMac? [was: Installing]

My old PC crashed and died and I lost all of my files and programs.  One of the programs I lost was Adobe Photoshop CS.  I talked to a chat tech and she sent me a free link to re-download the program.  It download ok, but it will not install.  I now have a iMac and the file download was a Mac version, but it will not install.
The message reads: The software is an unidentified developer.

The message reads: The software is an unidentified developer.
    What Ned said.
That error/warning is from the new Gatekeeper feature in Apple's Mavericks operating system. It's not from Adobe.
Gatekeeper is supposed to protect you from malware but it often causes more problems for the end user (like this) than it solves.
Having said all that, you will not be able to install Photoshop CS2 (the link you received to re-download CS was actually for CS2) on your new iMac running Mavericks (OS X 10.9+)
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads
CS2 and earlier versions were written for older Macs running older non-Intel processors. Macs stopped using those several years ago. They now use Intel processors which are not compatible with the older processors.
CS and CS2 (10+ year old software) will only install and run on older (10+ years old) Macs running Mac OS X v.10.2.8–v.10.3.8. PowerPC® G4 or G5 processor. There is no version of CS or CS2 which will run on modern Mac operating systems.
With your new iMac running OS X Mavericks on an Intel processor, your choices are to buy CS6 or join the Cloud and pay the monthly fee to run CC.

  • Re-installing Photoshop CS6 on new iMac problem.

I transferred my Photoshop CS6 to a new iMac Retina running OSX 10.10.1, having taken care to deactivate on the old Mac first and then reactivated on the new.  Photoshop comes up with an error message now each time I launch saying that "One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necassary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."  So I did just that with my original installer disc.  At the end of that process it said that there had been some errors and referred me to a log file which said:
Despite all this Photoshop seems to be working, but every time I launch it I get the same error message.   I've not used it enough since the move to the new Mac to discover if any other faults have developed.  As well as using my original install disc I also tried downloading the CS6 installer from the adobe.com site but exactly the same thing happens.  I would welcome suggestions for a fix...

Alas, this did not work. I first of all tried the reinstall in Safe Boot mode and at the end of the process exactly the same install error message as shown above.  I then moved to the part of those instructions that said to ditch Adobe AIR and reinstall it.  AIR was not visible anywhere on my machine, nor did that folder /Volumes/Adobe Master Collection exist.  Maybe there's a difference between what CS6 installs compared with the CS5 your instructions refer to (?).  So I went back to the Adobe.com downloads page, got Adobe AIR and installed it - during that it told me it was upgrading my AIR (wherever that was hidden - Find file could not see it) to version 16.  Otherwise no reported errors.  I went a step further and used the Uninstall tool to remove the existing CS6 installation, then tried reinstalling Photoshop - again same issue, same error.  So I'm no further forward after several hours of trying different things.
    Any more ideas please?

  • Migrating Leopard Server software to new Start-up disk

I have a new Xserve that I had configured with 3 -15K drives and the internal raid card and striped all 3 drives into one datapool for max performance. I am running the OS on this raid pool along with our rip software that loves lots of disk space and speed, thus the reason for the striped 15k drives. Lately I have noticed that while this software is running, it basically locks out access to a lot of the Finder functions or mounted drives on our network as well as clients have some hiccups to the shared out folders from this Xserve as well as the folders that are mounted locally on their machines. You basically have to either stop the software or wait until there is not activity before you can even access anything on the machine.
I would like to migrate the O.S. to an external 1tb firewire 800 drive I have and boot from there as I believe the issues are coming from the amount of disk activity that our rip software is causing, basically gagging the O.S. from doing it's job to it's fullest being on a shared raid volume.
So my question finally is, what is the best way to migrate my O.S. as it is set up now to the external drive and then just change start up disks and be back in business. I will break up the raid if I have to and go down to a striped volume of just 2 - 15K drives and leave the other for the O.S. if needed but I wanted to give the rip software as much spool space as possible.
Sorry for being long winded but any help would be appreciated.
    thanks,
    Dan

It sounds like you've setup a RAID 5 array using the three internal disks, right?
RAID 5 is great for data protection against a failed drive, but it has an overhead for any writing (every write requires a read from all disks in the array so the controller can recalculate the parity data). Therefore is is not a good choice for disk-intensive loads.
If your RIP software is using the drive as spool space there's no advantage in RAID 5 because the files are temporary, anyway (if a drive fails you just restart the job and move on - there's little or no loss of data).
Even so, it should have to do a significant amount of activity to stall other processes, so I'm not sure it's your problem.
For best write performance, RAID 0 is your best bet - you get to drive all disks at their full speed and there's little or no delay in waiting for other drives in the chain.
RAID 1 offers good read speed (reads alternate over the separate disks to increase throughput), but has a write overhead (data has to be written to both disks simultaneously), so it might not be a good option for temp files.
what is the best way to migrate my O.S. as it is set up now to the external drive and then just change start up disks and be back in business?
Yes. That's your best bet for the OS, but it doesn't fix the data on the RAID 5 array.
If you don't want to depend on an external drive, you could also use one drive for OS/applications and stripe the remaining two drives for scratch/data.

  • Installing CS4/5 on new laptop without disks?

I am picking up a new PC laptop this afternoon, and I plan on deactivate and removing CS5 from my old laptop. I have the originial, registered, CS4 disks as well as the CS5 upgrade disks (both Design Premium, if that helps any), but the new laptop does not have a disk drive. What is the best way to install CS on the new laptop?
Additionally, would I have to first install CS4 and then follow with the upgrade? I can't recall exactly what, but I do remember running into some issues when I first did this about 3 years ago (and have had resulting error messages since then that I'd love to avoid on the new computer).
    Many thanks in advance.

no, you only need to install cs5.  you will be prompted for the serial numbers of both your cs4 and your cs5 upgrade.
if you follow all 7 steps, you can dl a trial via one of the links on this page:  http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a dl problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem.

  • Is it possible to install Photoshop to a new (mac) computer? And how?

I have a new (mac) computer and I have installed photoshop on my laptop. I would like to transfer this to my computer. Is this possible?

Simply install it like on your laptop. If you have specific issues, you need to explain better and at least provide some proper technical info liek system specs.
