Installing Photoshop on different computer

How do I install Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 on my computer after my mom downloaded it on hers? I have the discs and the box and information but I insert the disc and nothing comes up. I can see the disk is in on my desktop but when I open it there is a big list of different folders and icons that need a program to be directed to and it is confusing as hell.

that looks like pse 10 for windows and it looks like you're trying to install that on a mac.  that's not going to work.
also, a single user license entitles one person to install/activate pse on up to two computers but it's not intended that two people (you and your mom) both use the same program on two different computers.

  • Install OSX from different computer

Here's the situation. Hard drive died, and data was unretrievable. Hard drive was replaced and 10.4.11 was installed. Before the failure I had 10.5.5 that I had bought as a family pack, which I also have installed on a different computer. Unfortunately I can't find the disc. Is there a way to make a copy of the OS or a way to install it from the other computer via firewaire, or am I going to have to buy a new disc?

When you say not work properly, do you mean unusable
Yes, I mean unusable; the system may not even boot, or it may boot but be erratic in operation
if it doesn't work, is it possible to undo?
Only with a reinstall of the OS.
Between PowerPC systems, you can try cloning the drive on the "good" system if you absolutely can't get your hands on a retail Mac OS X installer. Boot the system with the new drive to Firewire target disk mode and use a cloning utility such as Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the OS from the "good" system to the other one. If you're lucky, it might work without problems. But it's by no means guaranteed; it could lead to erratic results and/or some functions, system prefs, etc may not work or may be missing. Note as well that you'll need to remove from the cloned system any applications that were installed on the "good" system for which you don't have a license to run on two machines.
It will really be better if you can get a new retail installation disk for Mac OS X. That's going to be the most reliable method of installing on the new drive.
    Good luck.

  • Mac mini server install DVD - install on a different computer

I bought a Mac mini server (= a Mac mini with a Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server pre-installed) a while ago. I am planning to install Lion Server on the same Mac Mini and get rid of the Snow Leopard installation DVD. My question is, can the DVD that came with the Mac mini be used to install the server OS on a different computer (another Mac mini or iMac etc.)? or is it somehow tied to the original Mac mini?
    Thanks!

Install discs included with a Mac are only able to install on the same model Mac. However historically Mac OS X Server install discs are not limited in the same way. (Remember there is no such thing as a Lion install disc.)
The server install disc is more typically limited in being an older version of Mac OS X e.g. 10.6.3 and thus not able to boot and install on the latest model Macs. It is however possible to boot and install on an older Mac e.g. an older Mac mini but install on to an external hard disk which might even be the internal hard disk of another Mac connected via FireWire Target Disk Mode. You can then run the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Server Combo update to update it to the latest Snow Leopard Server version which will then boot successfully on all the current Macs including those that have only ever shipped with Lion.
Since a DVD disk takes very little space I would suggest you don't throw it away.

  • Install Photoshop CS2, new compute, Windows 8.1?

Install Photoshop CS2, which I bought several years ago, on a new computer with Windows 8.1? Adobe uploaded me a version that doesn't require activation, but it doesn't work!

Thanks, Ned. Adobe sent me a link to download a version of CS2 that they say doesn't need activation. I clicked on the link and used their new code to load and authenticate. The App is sitting there, but when I click on it, the box says something is wrong with my username, password or activation and the app will now close. I don't know how to try to download with compatibiity mode. Any clues?

  • Installing photoshop on second computer

how do I install photoshop on a second computer. detailed info

    snamedroc wrote:
On my first computer, which has mac OSX 10.6.8 operating system, I was able to install photoshopCC
On the second computer, which has the same operating system, I says the operating system is not supported by photoshop anymore.
Is there anything I can do to navigate this problem without upgrading my operating system?
When you say you were able to install on OS X 10.6.8 on your first computer, how long ago did you do that? The reason I ask is that Photoshop CC supports 10.6.8, but Photoshop CC 2014 (released this month) does not. That might be why the current version won't install. What you could do instead on your second machine is use the Previous Versions feature of the Creative Cloud app to install one of the older versions of Photoshop that does support 10.6.8, either Photoshop CS6 or Photoshop CC.
Also, regarding CC activation: You don't have to manually deactivate installations of software you installed with the Creative Cloud desktop application. As you install the software on more machines, it will let you use the two most recent installations you signed into, while automatically signing you out of all older installations.

  • Need help installing photoshop onto new computer.....

Need some help installing photoshop onto my new computer. Way back when I was in college I purchased photoshop. It has worked fine for everything that I do, plus I know all the tricks to this particular version. It has only been installed on 2 computers before...both my own computers. Now we have a new computer because the last one broke & I haven't been able to download the program. I have the cd etc but wondering why I can't download it. Could it be because it is so old....?? It's Photoshop 4.0  I have several docs that I need to open but can't because they're in photoshop....ugh... Please someone help. Thanks!!

Photoshop version 4 (shipped 1996) or Photoshop CS4 (shipped 2008)?
The CS4 Trial version can be downloaded from

Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first BEFORE you click the download link

  • Install photoshop on different volume

As a unix person all my disks are formatted to be case sensitive. Photoshop will not install on them. So I added an external disk and formatted it to be case insensitive. But I can't get photoshop to install on this external disk. It keeps trying to install on the system disk. Then says it is case sensitive and suggests I install on a different volume...but there seems to be no option to choose where to install it.
I am using Mac OSK 10.9 Mavericks

"This limitation applies to both the startup drive as well as the drive onto which the software is installed."
So Adobe is telling me, to install photoshop I MUST reformat my system drive to be case insensitive
There is NO mention of this in the "System Requirements Tech Spec" page
Adobe has sold me something that is not fit for purpose!!

  • After Upgrade to CS4 ... Can I Install CS3 on Different Computer

Here is a licensing question ...
I deactivated CS3 on an older Mac and did a clean install of a CS4 upgrade to a new Mac (I just used the CS3 serial number to validate the upgrade). So, now I'm wondering if the CS license would allow me to legally install the old CS3 on a different computer? I know I can legally install it on the same computer, but what about a different computer?

The CS4 license replaces the CS3 license. Legally, they're tied together.

  • Install windows from different computer

    Hello guys,
firt, I would like to apology for my English.
I tried to install Windows on my macbook pro 13 late 2011, but I don't have any SuperDrive in. I replaced my SuperDrive to HDD and on the place of HDD I put SSD.
And my point is, that when I tried to install windows with bootcamp I always ended by black screen and text on it " no bootable device, please put device.......". When I looked for solutions, I found, that my MBP doesn't support boot from USB, but I did clean install OS X and it worked fine.
So what I want to know is, IT'S POSSIBLE TO INSTALL WINDOWS TO HDD WITH DIFFERENT PC AND THEN PAST IT BACK TO MBP AND BOOT WINDOWS? Or it has to be strict install with bootcamp to boot ?
Thank you for all responds !! :-)

You can not install Windows in another computer then "PAST" it onto another computer. You must intall Windows onto the computer that will be booting Windows.

  • Installing Photoshop on second computer without original installation CD

I have been upgrading Photoshop on my desktop for years and have just ordered the CS5 upgrade. I now want to also install it on my laptop.  Can I do this with the upgrade CD?  I no longer have the original CD and I was using Windows 3.1 at the time anyway.
    Thank you!  Kathy Juron

Hi Kathy, you don't need a previous version installed on that second computer, but in order for the upgrade installation to work on new computer, you'll need the serial number of a prior version to enter at the time of the upgrade install...
It doesn't have to be the very original version you had, just a prior version (up to three versions back).  Each time you upgrade, you get/have a new serial key.

  • Installing Photoshop on another computer will it cost me extra

My laptop broke that had the Photoshop that i pay for on it, so i got a new laptop and wanted to install Photoshop on this laptop as I cant get on to the other laptop at all. Will it charge me twice for having photoshop on 2 laptops?

Your license allows you to have activated installations on two machines.  So there is no problem with you installing and activating on a second machine.  That limit however is not a fixed limit, meaning that you can deactivate and reactivate as needed should you get new machines over time or for whatever other reason you might need to activate multiple times.
What you should do before you install is contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations so that you still have two available to you.  Then you can use one of them for the new machine and still have the extra.  If you ask after you install and activate then you would have to do it again if they reset it after.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • Want to uninstall Acrobat 10 from 1 computer, then install on a different computer - how do I do it?

hi, I have Acrobat 10, use it on 2 computers as per the license.
I am giving one computer away, would like to keep my Acrobat 10 access and use on a different laptop.  I have the serial numbers etc.
How do I do it? Can I do it?

On the machine that you are getting rid of, open the application and choose Help -> Deactivate.  That is the minimum you need to do at your end.  If you want to free up the drive space for the next person to use it then you can uninstall it, but your concerns ended with the deactivation.
Once you have the extra activation available you can activate the installation on whatever new machine you install it on.
