It has worked fine for everything that I do, plus I know all the tricks to this particular version. It has only been installed on 2 computers before...both my own computers. Now we have a new computer because the last one broke & I haven't been able to download the program. I have the cd etc but wondering why I can't download it. Could it be because it is so old....?? It's Photoshop 4.0 I have several docs that I need to open but can't because they're in photoshop....ugh... Please someone help. Thanks!!

Installing photoshop onto a notebook

I have Production Premium CS5.5 and from that, I want to install photoshop onto my notebook, which has no dvd or cd rom drive. I copied the folder over, and had some wishful thinking, but to no avail, then looked for a setup.exe, also to no avail, can anyone offer some suggestions or tips. I really don't want to have to download the trial version

What exactly did you copy? The install DVDs? Just copying the installed executables from system to system won't work, anyway, due to the licensing system....

Help re-installing Photoshop onto new HD

My macbook pro died and I had to have a new hard drive put in. All my software has been wiped and I am having trouble re-installing Photoshop CS3.
It ran perfectly on my mac before it crashed, now it will not let me fully install, successfully installing the shared components but coming up with the following message:
Errors: 2 component(s):
Adobe Photoshop CS3
Component install failed
Shared components
Component install failed
It is a valid fully purchased copy of photoshop CS3 and has never been installed onto another computer.
Please help as I am a photographer and this is essential to my work! Thank you so much,

Installing Photoshop on Windows 8 Tablet

We have installed CS6 on a PC and the employee now needs to travel more. She has a Windows 8 ASUS tablet and would like to install just the Photoshop portion on the tablet. Is that possible and how would we do that with the same serial number?

if it does and it lacks a dvd drive, copy the install files from the dvd to a usb stick and install from the usb stick or:

if you have a dl problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, a failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem.

You can just download the version you have licensed from Adobe and install it.
You'll need to activate it with your serial number if you have a perpetual license, or just log in with your Adobe ID if you have a Creative Cloud subscription.
Both your serial number and the download link are available from Adobe.com if you registered your product.

The new laptop doesn't have a disc drive. I'm a student, and my copy of PS CS6 is on an actual disc. Is there still a way to get to a download of it, since I'm not on the cloud?

I have adobe installed on my android phone.
I need to install it onto my Nook Tablet.
When I go to adobe.com, I am being told that adobe is installed. It is installed on my android phone, but IT IS NOT istalled onto my Nook Tablet.
How do I either get adobe to recognize an additional device, or to allow me to create a new account that is NOT through Google Play? Google play is what keeps showing up when I try to download adobe through adobe.com

Because the Barnes & Noble Nook products use a customized version of the android operating system, on a stock Nook Color or Nook Tablet you cannot install Adobe Mobile Reader unless it is available through the Nook store.
If "root" your Nook Color or Nook Tablet, that is create a dual boot system that has the standard B&N OS and android OS, and you select the OS at boot up you can add Adobe Mobile Reader to the standard android system, but it Mobile Reader still will not be available to the Nook OS.
There are a number of PDF readers for the Nook Color and Nook Tablet at the Nook Store at B&N.com.

The answer to the latter according to Apple is no. In short, if you want to dump Vista and XP or Ubuntu aren't acceptable, put the Dulls up for sale and buy a Mac.

A single user license allows for having activated installations on two machines. An Elements license allows for either platform in many cases (recently not the case from what I've seen). If you have the disc, see if it contains the Mac installation files... if it does then you should be able to install them via a download as well. I cannot answer with certainty for the last question since it relies on the previous question. Personally, I would not let an inexpensive piece of software dictate an expensive hardware purchase decision.

Run the cleaner tool and reinstall with sufficient user privileges and security stuff turned off. Your install went wrong because you didn't consider this.

OK seriously, I did not want to make you feel stupid, it was in fact the first thing that came to my mind. Now, if you got something from Costco, there is probably a box or a CD with it, which should tell you whether it is a PC version or a Mac version. These apps usually come with items like a camera or maybe a scanner included. Please take the time and check what you got. If there is nothing on the disk telling you it's a Mac-version, youprobably got the wrong thing.
The Mac version is available via Adobe's website, just look for Photoshop Elements 9, that's the current version. There even is a trial available.

Tina Hadley did you migrate/transfer your applications over to your new Macintosh? If so this could cause problems with your serial number being recognized. Please run the available uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once this is done you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool. I'm trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 onto a Windows XP sp3 PC. The installer is giving me an error with data13.cab
Have error checked the hard drive
Have defragged the hard drive
Have tried install from internal DVD drive
Have tried install from network copy of the install DVD (made from a different DVD drive)
Have tried install logged into Windows as a brand new user account.
Installer can't get Element_StarFrameCircle.psd, although windows seems happy enough with the cab file.
Have downloaded trial version from Adobe website but that wouldn't run either (exe file is corrupt, but this is mentioned as a possibility on the web site)
Any ideas?

Stuard_Hubbard I would recommend following the steps listed in Error 1311, 1335, or 2350 "Source file not found...data1.cab" when installing Adobe products | Windows. The error is indicating there is either a problem with your installation media or the Windows Installer Service installed on your computer. Please feel free to respond to this thread if you have any questions about the steps listed within the document.
