  • Looking into starting a business using creative cloud and business catalyst

    Hi,
    I am just looking for a bit of clarification on a few things. I am looking at using Creative cloud and Business Catalyst for a new business.
    Firstly, if I have both a Mac and a PC, will one creative cloud subscription allow me to install on both?
    Secondly, with Business Catalyst if I am wanting to make more than 5 websites, do I have to use the partner plan? or is this just if I want to make comission? Basically can I pay individually for subscriptions to more than 5 sites on behalf of customers without paying the initial partner fee while I am starting up? Obviously long term the partner option makes sense but short term for start up it would be useful to just sell the adobe subscriptions without earning comission. Hope this makes sense?
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Adam,
    I'm very happy to hear that you want to start a business using BC and Creative Cloud - this is one of the goals of our integration.
    To you first question, yes, you can install Creative Cloud on both your machines.
    To your second question - you don't need to be a paid partner while you're starting up. You can remain a free partner, and just buy supplemental websites from the Partner portal. You're right, you won't get the comission, but it's a pretty good deal anyway.
    If you're starting up, I also strongly recomment the BCGurus "Zero to BC Hero" training program - not only they explain you the BC product, but they also include a lot of great business insights on running a web agency

    Nfunchio13 that is fairly unique error.  Unexpected errors like this are typically the result of the firewall settings or security software interfering with the Adobe Creative applications from being downloaded.

    Hello, I'm running a MacBook Pro Retina with Yosemite 10.10.2.  I tried to update Creative Cloud Desktop manager and then tried to cancel it (it was killing my bandwidth while I was trying to work).  It disappeared from the bar at the top of the OSx screen.
    I couldn't get it back.  I restarted my machine.  When I clicked on Creative Cloud this time, I was prompted to update, but almost immediately got an error.  There are other mentions of Error Code 1 on the forum, but they appear to be first time installations, not updates.  Suggestions welcome!  Thanks

    Still no success.  I tried the instructions here: Error "Failed to Install" Creative Cloud Desktop application  which says to uninstall Creative Cloud.  I got an error: "Unable to uninstall Creative Cloud Desktop.  Quit Creative Cloud desktop and try again."  But CC desktop is not running.  I had a look in activity monitor and didn't see anything.

    Okay - I think I resolved this by closing some stalled processes in Activity Monitor, then restarting Creative Cloud desktop, then updating in the normal way.

    Error 9 occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes.
    This issue can usually be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

  • Installing Photoshop in Creative Cloud

    I have installed Creative Cloud and then Photoshop, it took a few minutes to install and then indicated that I had installed Photoshop, when I tried to open Photoshop it said it could not open the application because either it had'nt properly downloaded or the file was damaged, it shows in the application folder as being 32 kb in size. Lightroom 5 installed with no problem.

    Try this:
    -Go to application ,send application manager to the trash and reinstall it from:

    - Empty the photoshop temp folder:
    On the finder ,on the "GO" menu ,choose go to folder and tape :  /var/tmp
    Normally all downloads are there,try to find the one for Photoshop and delete it ,you can search by date.
    - Delete those files also (if no other adobe applications are installed,otherwise don't do this):
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/backup
    Try to reinstall.
    If it doesn't work,please give your mac os version and tell me if the problem occurs only for photoshop or not?
